Mio was currently staring at a beautiful blonde lady standing in the lobby of their apartment building. Alicia smiled coldly at the young girl in front of her. “You must be Mio.” Of course, she knew who she was but this was the first time that they had introduced themselves.
Mio stiffened up. “Y-yes are you Ms. Morgan?”
Alicia was glaring at Mio’s outfit. “This just wont do. Do you have any business attire?”
Mio shook her head. “I wasn’t informed that I would need business attire.”
Alicia was dressed in a business pants suit. She put a hand on her forehead and sighed. “Alright, first we will go shopping. We can’t have you wearing that at the office.”
Mio frowned. She was wearing one of the nicest outfits she owned. “Ms. Morgan, can I ask how you knew I lived here.”
Alicia smiled. “Of course, I would know where the fiancé of my boss’s favorite grandson lives. Besides, I live on the floor below you.”
Mio’s eyes widened. “You live here.” She thought for a few seconds and her eyes narrowed. “So, you’re here to spy on us.”
Alicia’s gaze went cold. “I am reluctantly keeping an eye on the young man. Sadly, it’s part of my job.”
Mio frowned. “I see.”
Alicia sighed. “Listen, I know you’re not happy about it. But his grandfather has many enemies and your fiancé has made a few himself over the years. I’m only an observer, but he does have other bodyguards. My only job is to relay his living conditions to Mr. Carter. Honestly, I find the job annoying. I signed on to be a secretary not some kind of weird babysitter.”
Mio giggled. “Thank you for being honest with me. I feel a little better about working under you.”
Alicia frowned. “Let me be frank with you. I’m not necessarily happy with you becoming my assistant. You don’t meet the qualifications. If not for Mr. Carter’s insistence I would not have hired you.”
Mio smiled. “Eizan warned me about that. I will do my best to live up to both yours and Granpa Carter’s expectations of me. I realize that I am not qualified and was quite surprised when I was offered the job.”
Alicia was presently surprised by Mio’s reaction. She thought she would be more stubborn or argumentative. “I hope you’re ready. But first.” She eyed Mio up and down. “Were going to spend a little of the old fox’s money. He hired you without talking to me so this will be a good way of getting back at him.”
Carter was sitting in his office reading a document when he all of a sudden started to feel sick to his stomach for some reason. He looked out the window for a few seconds. “Why do I have a weird feeling that something bad is about to happen to me.” Carter laughed. “Has karma caught up with me.”
Two hours later Alicia was standing in front of a nicely dressed young girl in a skirt suit. She handed Mio a few other bags. “This is your uniform now. I expect you to wear these clothes from now on.”
Mio nodded. “I will.”
Alicia’s phone rang. “Hello, boss.”
“Where are you?”
“Sorry, I am outfitting my new assistant with appropriate clothing.”
“I see.”
“Don’t worry I used your credit card. I also made sure to buy a few things for myself so I can look presentable when we have clients.”
On the other end of the phone Carter coughed. His face turned pale. He knew he had basically unlimited funds but he also knew his assistant. He had a feeling that she bought all the most expensive things that she could. In a fake voice. “Thank you for looking after my future granddaughter in law. I will see you after a while.”

Alicia smiled. “No need to thank me. I’m just doing my job.” She hung up the phone.
Mio stared blankly at Alicia. “Are you sure this is, ok?”
Alicia smiled coldly. “That old fox would be lost without me. We will be fine.” Mio would find out how true this statement was in the future. Mio was also starting to think that the people closest to Carter got revenge on him by spending his money. She had seen the way Eizan spent his grandfather’s money.
An hour later Mio was staring at a huge office building in a daze. Alicia smiled softly. She had grown fond of Mio in the last few hours. She appreciated the young girl’s honesty and quiet demeanor. She was also happy to find that she seemed rather intelligent. “Mio, are you coming.”
Mio snapped out of her daze. “Y-yes.”
They entered the office building and rode the elevator to the top floor. After stepping out of the elevator Mio looked around in shock. There books and documents everywhere in the large office she had just entered. Alicia giggled. “This is why he needs me. I organized this place only two days ago.” Mio suddenly realized how hard this job was going to be. “Is our job to organize his office?”
Alicia laughed. “That and other things.” Alicia pointed towards the door on the other side of the office. “Our office is this way.” She led Mio to a rather large well-organized office.
Mio looked around and found very little out of place. “You seem well organized.”
Alicia sighed. “As long as he doesn’t come in here looking for something it stays clean.” Alicia pointed towards a small desk on the other side of the room. “That desk is yours for today your job is to file that paperwork over on that desk.” She pointed towards a large desk on the other side of the room. “Do you thin you are capable of that?”
Mio nodded. “I’m sure I will be fine. I will ask If I have any questions.”
Alicia smiled. “Good.”
Alicia and Mio got to work on all kinds of office related activities for the next few hours. Alicia was training her to the best of her abilities. When lunch was nearing Mio heard a man roaring with laughter from the other room. She had heard this voice before. It was definitely Carter. She could hear Alicia sigh from across the room. Alicia looked up at Mio. “I wish he would have stayed away for a little while longer.” As if on cue Carter burst through the door with a giant stack of documents. “Alicia, I need you to take care of this for me.” Carter glanced at Mio as he set the giant stack of documents on Alicia’s desk. He turned towards Mio smiled and winked.
Mio couldn’t help but giggle at his antics. Mio thought he acted just like Eizan. She knew this was Carter’s way of getting back at Alicia for something. She could tell by the look on his face. “Maybe they are more alike than I thought.”
Carter stared at Alicia. “Can you get this done before the end of the day.” Mio and Alicia both stiffened.
Alicia sighed. “We will try.” She looked at the giant stack of paperwork and tried not to smile. I’m glad I spent a lot of his money earlier.
Carter walked over to Mio’s desk with a big smile on his face. “Are you liking the job so far?”
Mio nodded. “It has been fine so far.”
Carter laughed. “That’s good to hear. How is my grandson?”
Mio shrugged. “He was fine this morning when he left.”
Carter shook his head. “That’s not what I’m asking. Has he been happy lately? He used to be rather depressed.”
Mio smiled. “He’s seemed to be happy lately.”
Carter smiled. “That’s good to hear. Let me know if he’s causing problems. I’ll set him straight.”
Mio nodded. “I will.”
Later that evening Mio ad Eizan were sitting on the couch after work. “So, how was your day?” Eizan asked.
Mio smiled. “It was mostly fine.”
Eizan frowned. “Did my grandfather bug you?”
Mio shook her head. “No, he only seems to mess with Alicia for now. The only troublesome part was cleaning his office.”
Eizan laughed. “Yeah, it’s always a mess.”
Mio shook her head. “It was spotless when I left.”
Eizan smiled. “Was he there when you left?”
Mio thought for a few seconds. “Yeah, he was still there.”
Eizan shook his head. “I’m sorry.”
Mio looked at him curiously. “Why?”
“That office will be trashed by the morning, I’m sure.”
Mio’s eyes widened. “I’m sure it won’t be that bad.”
Eizan laughed. “I hope not.”
The next morning it was even worse that it was before she cleaned it. She was in utter shock. Alicia just patted her on the should and told her it’s just part of the job. Mio shook her head in disbelief. “It’s like he does this on purpose.” She thought. If she had seen Eizan’s mother’s office, she would realize that it was a family trait. “I hope Eizan doesn’t do this to his office later in life.” He will, that’s for sure.
