Two days later Eizan was staring at a large shopping mall. His gaze was drawn to the beautiful girl holding his hand as they walked. She had a slight frown on her face. She looked up at him with a pouty look on her face. “Are they really going to follow us the whole time?”
Eizan sighed. “I thought we already talked about this. Yes, they will follow us the whole time. I told them to add a little more distance for now.”
She glared at him. “I still don’t like being followed.”
Eizan shook his head. “Like I explained earlier. Someone has been following us the whole time. They were just far enough away to not be seen.”
“I know that. But it’s a little unnerving being able to see them. I can understand why your grandfather told them to not let their presence be discovered.”
“Yeah, I get that. My whole childhood was like this. It wasn’t until I was fourteen that they started following me from such a great distance.”
“I know you said it was because I couldn’t defend myself, but it makes me feel like a child being watched by her parents on a date.”
He picked up the pace and pulled her forward with a small smile on his face. “Just ignore them. Some shopping should make you forget about everything. Besides…” He pulled out a black credit card from his pocket. “I’m putting it all on the demon’s credit card.”
Mio frowned. “I wish you wouldn’t call him that. But why are you using his money?”
Eizan chuckled. “Let’s just say that he owes me after what I sent him yesterday.”
Mio’s eyes narrowed. “I thought you said it would take you a month.”
Eizan shook his head. “A month to redo all my research. It only took a day to reprogram that bot.” He scratched his cheek. “It was a little difficult considering I had to use my old laptop.”
Mio giggled. “It was kind of fun destroying it.” Eizan face contorted a little. Making her giggle again. “Should we buy you a new laptop?”
Eizan shook his head. “No, a new one will be delivered in a few days.” He glared at her. “Please don’t destroy it.”
Mio smiled brightly. “Don’t do anything that would make me destroy it.”
Eizan sighed. “You don’t have to worry about it to much. I had our network security increased and I don’t plan on using it to do anything outrageous again.”
Mio shook her head. “For some reason I don’t believe you.” Just then a store caught her eye. “Let’s go in there.” For the next few hours, she dragged him from store to store. He was exhausted but she still seemed to be in high spirits by the end of it. In one store she made him dress in outfit after outfit. He felt that she was treating him like he was a doll for dress up. He did enjoy when she chose outfits and asked his opinions though. But the fact that she had dragged him to almost every store in the mall made his head spin.
He thought to himself. “How can she have this much stamina. I work out every day, I’m exhausted but she seems just fine.” He looked at the ten bags he was carrying and frowned. “I bet it’s because she’s using me like a pack mule.”
Mio looked back at Eizan because he was trailing behind. She tilted her head to the side. She could tell he was exhausted but she decided to tease him. “Is everything alright? We only have a few more stores left.”
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Eizan’s eyes widened. “We still need to do more shopping?”
“Why are you tired.”
Eizan was too tired to try and hide his exhaustion. He nodded his head. “I’m exhausted.”
She walked up to him and patted his head. “Alright, we’ll head home.”
Eizan glared at her. “You did this on purpose.”
Mio acted like she was completely innocent. “Whatever do you mean?”
“Are you doing this to get revenge.”
Mio crossed her arms. “Maybe a little, but I had other reasons.”
“What other reasons?”
Mio smiled brightly. “Well, Alicia taught me to get back at grandpa by spending his money. It’s really fun shopping with an unlimited budget. It’s every girl’s dream.”
Eizan started to laugh. “You knew he was the one who hired the guards and I’m the one who told him to do it. So, you’re getting back at him and me.”
Mio smiled brightly and nodded. “Bingo.”
Eizan set the bags down on the floor and raised his hands in the air. “Ok, ok, please forgive me. You are way to hard to deal with when you are angry. Can we call a truce.”
Mio held her belly as she started to laugh. She wiped a tear from her eye. “Alright, I forgive you. But next time you do something like this ask my permission first.”
Eizan sighed. “Is that what this is about? You just wanted me to ask your opinion?”
“Yup.”
“So, you’ve been punishing me for three days because of that.”
“Yup.”
Eizan closed the distance between them and grabbed her left wrist and her chin. He lifted her chin up a little so she had to look him in the eyes. His whole demeanor changed in an instant. No longer did he look like a dog that had been beaten by its owner. He was closer to a wolf that had found its prey. “You know naughty girls get spankings, right?”
Mio gulped. “You wouldn’t dare?”
Eizan raised an eyebrow. “I wouldn’t?”
Mio glared at him. “Bad wolf.” She tried to separate herself from him. She turned to walk away. But as soon as she turned around, she felt a slight stinging sensation on her butt. Smack. “Eep.” She squealed, jumped a little, and turned around with a surprised look on her face. Eizan had just smacked her on the butt. Her face started to turned completely red. “Pervert.”
She wriggled from his loose grip and started to walk away. He could see that the back of her neck and ears were red. Eizan started laughing. “I guess I’m in trouble again.” He looked back at the bags on the ground and sighed. “Back to being a pack mule I guess.” The people around them were all staring at the strange couple with varying levels of amusement. Eizan looked at the onlookers and shrugged with a wry smile on his face. A few of them started to laugh. He wasn’t to worried about her being on her own. She did have two people following her. He picked up the bags and started to follow her.
The two guards who were standing a little ways away were staring at each other. The one started laughing. “This has to be the most entertaining job I have ever gotten.”
The other nodded. “Right, it’s good money too.”
“Yeah, following two rowdy teens around is a cake walk.”
The other guard sighed. “We can’t get complacent though. We were warned by the boss.”
The other guard got a stern look on his face. “I can’t believe their being targeted. What did that boy do?”
“I don’t know but Mr. Carter said that we should stay vigilant.”
They started to follow the young girl making sure to keep their distance, but stayed close enough that they could help if anything happened. Over their ear pieces they heard a message. “Stop playing around you two.”
They both straightened their backs. “Yes sir.”
When he caught up to her, she turned around and glared at him with a red face and her cheeks puffed out. “Don’t do that in public.”
Eizan smiled. “Sure, sure, I won’t do it again.”
She glared at him and spun around angrily. The back of her neck and ears were still red. She was standing there grumbling. She felt his hot breath in her ear. “You know you’re cute when you’re embarrassed.”
Her face turned even redder. “Jerk.” Later at home she scolded him for his behavior. He could tell she wasn’t really angry. She was just embarrassed. After some coaxing and head pats, she forgave him.
