Moving again

A while later Eizan walked into the house and was being glared at by his beautiful fiancé, who was sitting on the couch. He could tell she was suspicious about his morning outing. He got an amused look on his face and in a lighthearted tone said “Hello beautiful, have I done something to make you angry?”

Her eyes narrowed and her glare intensified. “What are you hiding from me?”

Eizan let out a light hearted laugh. “I wouldn’t say I am hiding anything. It’s more like I haven’t told you something yet. But to be more precise I just had a meeting with the demon to clarify some things before I talked to you about it.”

Mio let out a long sigh and leaned back against the couch with a frown on her face. “So, spit it out. What have you been up to?” Eizan walked over to the couch and sat down next to her. To her surprise he laid his head on her lap. He looked up at her with an amused look on his face. She shook her head at his childish display. “You know I’m not happy with you right?”

Eizan just smiled. “I figured that much out. So, what would you like to know?”

“What are you hiding?”

Eizan shook his head. “Who said I was hiding something?”

She frowned. “I’ve known you long enough to tell.”

Eizan let out a light hearted laugh. “You know, you are cute when you’re mad.”

She flicked him in the forehead. “Be good and tell me.”

“Fine, I was just having a bit of fun.” He sat up and his gaze turned serious. “I’m being followed.”

She got a surprised look on her face. “What? By who?”

Eizan shook his head. “I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to know. Let’s just say they are really powerful individual.”

“What are you going to do about it?”

“That’s the thing. We don’t know why he’s following me yet. Noone has even tried to approach me. He is just having me followed for some reason. He hasn’t done anything wrong yet. There is nothing we can do except disappear.”

“Are you going to leave?”

Eizan smiled softly and rubbed the top of her head. “No, we are going to be moving in a few days. A house has already been prepared for us.”

In a loud voice she replied. “WERE MOVING.”

“Calm down. It can be temporary if we want it to be.”

She sighed. “I like this apartment.”

“Yeah, me too. Especially since we will be moving to somewhere much more… Let’s leave that a surprise.”

She started to glare at him again. “You are keeping secrets again.”

He shook his head. “Nope, a surprise is different than a secret.”

He laid his head back down on her lap. She unconsciously started to pet the top of his head. She seemed lost in thought and he didn’t feel a need to interrupt her thought process. “Can we tell anyone?”

“We can. But we can’t tell them where we are moving.”

“What should I tell my parents?”

“I already talked to them this morning. They seemed fine with it.”

“Did you tell them where we are moving?”

“Nope.”

She stopped running her hands though his hair. “Now here is the real question. How long have you known about this?”

“Four days.”

She let out a long sigh. “Is that why you started to have me guarded at all times.”

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

He shook his head. “This and that are two separate issues. If anything, it makes me glad that I did.”

She frowned. “So, how are we going to get there without being followed?”

Eizan smiled mischievously. “Don’t worry about it. We already have that part figured out.”

Mio glared at him.

Three days later a scream could be heard from the top of their apartment building as a helicopter took off. She was trembling and screaming as the helicopter left the ground. She had a death grip on his arm. Eizan was laughing hysterically at her reaction. She started to hit him repeatedly in the chest. “Dummy. You should have told me about this.” He held her firmly as they flew towards their destination. After about five minutes she loosened her grip on him. He patted her on the head.

“Look out the window were about to arrive.”

Mio faced her fears and fixed her gaze on the large estate on the edge of the city that was coming into view. “Where are we?”

“This is our new home for now.”

Her eyes opened wide as she looked at the large white house that was coming into view. It was surrounded by large gardens and open fields. Something not seen in the center of the city. The helicopter slowly descended into the open space in front of the palatial estate.

A few moments later he was carrying her in a princess carry after they left the helicopter. Her legs gave out as soon as her feet touched the ground. She gazed up at him with teary eyes. “I don’t want to do that again.”

He let out a soft laugh. “Ok, I thought you might enjoy it. But from now on no more helicopters if possible.”

She turned her gazes towards the large white house with giant columns in front. It looked closer to a palace than a home. A man in a butler uniform and two women in maids’ uniforms were standing by the large front doors as the approached. The butler and maids bowed respectfully and opened the doors for them. Her eyes widened as the interior of the extravagant home they were moving into came into view. It was closer to a palace than a home. There was white marble everywhere she looked. She looked up at him with her mouth still agape. “What is this place?”

Eizan sighed. “It’s where my family was supposed to live. My mother and father refused to live here. We would come here often for family vacations though.”

“A-are we really going to live here?”

He slowly lowered her down so that she could stand on her own. Around a dozen maids and butlers were standing there waiting for them. The head butler bowed before them. “Good to see you again master Eizan. It has been quite awhile since your last visit.”

“Good to see you again, Mr. Filmore.”

The old man smiled kindly at Eizan before switching his gaze to Mio. “I’m assuming this is the young master’s fiancé that I have heard so much about.”

Eizan sighed. “That’s enough of the master servant business. I only want to be referred to as Eizan.” He reached over and grabbed her hand. “This beautiful girl is my fiancé Sakurai Mio. Mio this is James Filmore. He’s British so his first name is James. He’s the head butler here. If you need anything he’s your man.”

Mio bowed respectfully. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Filmore.”

James smiled at her and bowed gracefully. “My lady I’m am happy to meet you. As the young master has stated I am here to cater to any and all of your needs. If you need anything feel free to ask.” Eizan was shaking his head. He really hated the whole young master thing. It made him feel like he was some kind of noble.

Eizan looked at his till dumbfounded fiancé. “Come. I’ll show you around.” He started pulling her along. As she followed behind him, she kept gazing at his blonde hair. He laughed. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

She snapped out of her stupor. “You’re not going to tell me that you are some kind of prince next, are you?”

He burst out laughing. “I’m sorry to burst your bubbled but I’m not a prince. I’m just the grandson a ridiculously rich demon.”

Mio started to giggle. “You really shouldn’t call him that. But this place is amazing. Are we really going to stay here?”

Eizan smiled. “Yup, that’s the plan.”

She looked down at her regular clothes she was wearing. “I feel like I’m underdressed to be here.”

Eizan stopped and looked at her curiously. “Why?”

“I don’t know. I feel like I should be wearing something fancy if I’m walking around in this house.”

He started walking again. “It’s just a house.”

Mio laughed. “More like a duke’s mansion.”

Eizan shook his head. “I think you might go into shock if you saw my grandfather’s estate in France.”

Mio tilted her head. “Why?”

Eizan laughed lightheartedly. “It’s a literal castle.”

Mio’s eyes widened. “Do you think we could visit it sometime in the future?”

He reached up and patted her on the head making her blush. “Yeah, any time you want. That old fox has taken a liking to you. I’m sure if you asked, he would give you that castle.”

Mio’s eyes widened. “I would never accept such a gift.”

Eizan laughed. “You do realize it’s basically already yours?”

Mio’s mouth opened in shock. She stared at him in disbelief for almost ten seconds before asking. “What do you mean by that?”

Eizan shrugged. “I’m inheriting his whole estate.”

She screamed “WAIT, WAIT, WHAT? When were you going to tell me that?”

“I thought it was implied. I’m taking over the company and inheriting most of his assets after he dies. No one else wants to deal with it. Granted other family members get a huge inheritance as well. So, there is no real animosity. Honestly, most of them will probably turn down the money.” Mio’s legs gave out and he had to catch her. “Are you alright?”

She shook her head. “I think I need to lay down. You can’t keep dropping bombs like this all the time. My heart can’t take it.”

Eizan sighed and picked her up again. “I’ll take you to our room then.”
