A wolf

Hashimoto left the bathroom and walked into the living area. The two girls stared at him in shock. The wounds on his body were much more severe than he had let on. Sakurai’s eyes started to tear up.

“You idiot. You said you were fine.” She slowly approached him and reached delicately towards his side.

Eizan’s hand quickly reached hers and grabbed it. “Please don’t touch.”

“D-does it hurt?”

“…” Eizan nodded.

He looked apologetic. Shimada couldn’t believe the sight in front of her. Both the actions of her friend and the sight of Hashimoto’s body had given her a shock. Shimada actually knows what happened. She had heard all about it from Murata. She knew he made no attempt to fight back. She knew he did nothing wrong. The thought of this wolf and her best friend had clouded her judgment. Her eyes had clouded over the second she had seen how sever his wounds were. Did he deserve this? They went too far. This isn’t what she wanted when she told Murata about Mio staying at Hashimoto’s apartment. She just wanted him to stay away from Mio, but she never expected this.

“Where are the bandages.” Sakurai asked.

“In the bathroom.”

Sakurai ran towards the bath.

Eizan turned towards Shimada with a cold look on his face. The aura around him had flipped from soft and gentle to a ruthless dangerous feeling. The wolf had shown itself again. Shimada looked into the cold lifeless hazel eyes of Hashimoto. She felt the color drain from her face.

“You know exactly what happened, don’t you?”

Shimada nodded. She could tell he had seen through everything.

“Listen I’m not blaming you for trying to protect your friend. But next time you never know the damage those scumbags will do to someone. Take this as a lesson, if it had been someone else, they might have died.”

Shimada was frozen in place. She was so stunned she had forgotten to breath.

“Also, do me a favor. Don’t tell Sakurai about any of this.”

Shimada broke from her trance and nodded.

Eizan smiled coldly.

“I’m not mad at you this time. I understand your reasons. But this is a warning, I was given permission to defend myself from my father. There will be no basketball team if this happens again.”

Eizan turned away and looked out the window. “You’ve heard about what happened at my old school right. What happened to the members of the soccer team that attacked me. It’s all true. None of them will ever play again and some of them have it much worse.”

He turned back and shot Shimada a cold glare. She was shivering. She felt as if she was being stalked by a vicious mighty predator. She felt fear run through every bone in her body. She was pale and looked as if she was about to pass out.

The next second Eizan’s cold demeanor immediately softened. Shimada was shaken by this change. Then she realized, Sakurai was headed down the small hallway. "Did he hear her coming?" Sakurai rounded the corner and walked towards him. She glanced over at her friend and immediately got a worried look on her face. Sakurai rushed over to her.

“Ren, Ren are you okay? You look like your about to throw up.”

“Please lie down, I’ll get you a cold compress.”

Shimada reached up and grabbed Sakurai’s arm before she could run off. She did it reflexively, she didn’t want to be left alone with this man. Fear had gotten the best of her. She didn’t want to have the feeling of being alone in a cage with a wild animal again. She knew Mio could soothe this savage beast.

“Ren are you ok?”

“Mio I’m ok. The sight of his wounds just shocked me. I-I’ll be ok after you bandage him up.”

“Oh… ok I’ll get started then.”

Sakurai approached him gazing at the giant bruise on his right side.

“Does it hurt bad?” Mio looked up at Eizan with those teary blue eyes.

“It’s not that bad. I’ll be ok.”

Mio nodded and started to unwrap the bandages from their packaging.

“Alright I’m going to start let me know if I hurt you.”

Eizan nodded

“Lift up your arms a little if you can.”

Eizan then began to realize what was about to happen. She definitely had to touch him to put on his bandages. He immediately began to tense up.

Mio moved around to his back. She gently placed the first piece of the wrap on the middle of his back with her small delicate hand. Eizan shivered.

“Did I hurt you?”

“No, no I’m fine please continue.”
