Breakfast of champions

Mio and Eizan had moved to his bed and she was currently cuddled up on his chest. He could hear her soft breathing as she slept. He sighed internally. “That was too close. I can see how accidents happen now.”

The next morning Mio woke up and groggily looked around the room. She couldn’t see anything because her glasses weren’t on her face and it was still dark. She started to feel around for her glasses when she felt something warm and smooth. She started to move her hands across Eizan’s chest without realizing it. She heard a small chuckle “I know we fooled around a lot last night, but aren’t you getting a little frisky first thing in the morning.”

Mio stuttered. “E-E-Eizan? Why are you in my bed.”

Eizan giggled. Suddenly, she felt his arms wrap around her and pull her into his embrace. He whispered in her ear. “Silly girl, you’re in my bed.” Mio was stunned for a second. Images of last night’s activities appeared in her head. The last thing she remembered was cuddling with him in his bed. She had forced him to move from the living room. He could tell she was currently having a hard time dealing with this situation. “First good morning, are you perhaps looking for your glasses?” He felt her head nod on his chest. “Hold on, I’ll grab them for you.” Eizan had removed her glasses after she fell asleep. Even though he knew she could sleep with her glasses on, something about it bothered him. He handed her the glasses and she put them on.

She sighed. “It’s still too dark for me to see.” Eizan yawned and rolled her off of him. He stood up and walked towards the lamp in his room. Mio blushed when she saw him. “W-w-why are you only wearing boxers?”

Eizan giggled. “You saw everything last night.”

Mio blushed. “That’s not the point.”

Eizan walked up and rubbed her cheek with the back of his hand. He got a mischievous smile on his face. “My beautiful fiancé, you may want to look at yourself first.”

She looked down to realize she was also currently in her underwear. She grabbed the blankets and covered herself in a hurry. Her face was completely red. “T-t-this.”

Eizan burst out laughing. “You’re so cute. You do know I’ve seen everything right?”

Mio’s face turned completely red. “T-t-that’s not the point.”

Eizan chuckled. “You’ve said that twice.” He walked up to her and grabbed her hand. “Come with me.”

Mio reluctantly let go of the sheets and started to follow behind him as they left his room. “Where are we going?”

Eizan smiled. “It’s bath time.”

“B-b-bath time, together?”

Eizan grabbed and pulled her into his embrace. “Like I said. We’ve already seen everything anyways.”

Mio looked stunned. “That’s not the point.”

Eizan smiled. “That’s 3, I got the trifecta.”

Mio puffed out her cheeks. “This isn’t appropriate.”

Eizan shook his head. “I think were past the point of what people would call appropriate already.”

Mio seemed stunned at this revelation. She didn’t know what to say. Eizan started to pull her towards the bath again. She stopped him for a second. “I want to clarify something with you.”

Eizan turned around and sighed. “You’re being awful stubborn. What is it.”

“We will not go any farther than we did last night for the time being.”

Eizan looked confused. “Umm… Mio were just going to take a bath.”

She glared at him. “What happened last night was almost too far. We haven’t even told my father that were officially engaged.”

Eizan chuckled. “I told him yesterday.”

Mio’s eyes widened. “When did you talk to him.”

Eizan had a wry smile. “He gave me a ride to work.”

He pulled his stubborn fiancé along towards the bath. He had to get ready for work and so did she. He had an evil grin on his face as he pulled her along. Obviously, he was looking forward to this.

Mio was quietly eating pancakes at the table lost in thought. “He’s definitely a wolf.” She looked like a chipmunk with her cheeks full of pancakes. She kept glancing at Eizan with a slightly peeved look.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Eizan had a bright smile on his face. His memories of this morning's shower were fresh in his mind. He wasn't even eating. In his mind he had already gotten what he wanted for breakfast. He could tell she had something to say. “Is something bothering you?”

“A few things. But, why didn’t you tell me you talked to my father?”

“I did tell you. This morning.”

She frowned. “Shouldn’t you have told me yesterday?”

Eizan shook his head. “I shouldn’t have told you at all.”

She glared at him. “Why is that?”

“We had a private talk. Some things are better left unsaid.”

She sighed. “You really need to stop keeping secrets.”

Eizan shook his head. “There are secrets and then there are secrets. Some secrets are harmless. Like talking to your father. Others are well, real secrets.”

“Do you have any more real secrets?”

Eizan sighed. “Probably.”

“Probably?”

“Well, it depends on what you think is important. If you’re asking if I’m hiding anything from you the answer is no. But there are all kinds of things we don’t know about each other.”

Mio looked down at her pancakes and started to cut it with her fork. She was lost in thought as she took a bite. “I would still like to officially tell my parents at dinner.”

Eizan nodded. “That’s a good idea.” He paused. “Your parents are funny.”

Mio gave him a curious look. “How so?”

Eizan giggled. “They both showed up to reprimand me about taking you to a club. But neither one told the other.”

Mio about choked on her pancake. “Dad knows?”

Eizan nodded. “He was surprisingly agreeable.” Eizan sipped his coffee as he gazed at Mio’s dumbfounded expression. “See everyone keeps secrets, even your parents. But I have a feeling your father told your mother that he knows.”

“Why is that?”

“Well, he knows she knows. So, there is no reason to hide it, right?”

Mio frowned. “Still secrets suck.”

Eizan shook his head. “He was doing it to protect you. He even gave me a warning.”

“A warning.”

“He said that we better be on our best behavior for a while. That is if you want to actually stay here.”

“He was that angry?”

Eizan shook his head. “He was more worried about your mother.”

Mio sighed. “I see.”

Eizan is cleaning the dishes in the kitchen. Mio is still sitting at the table playing on her phone. “Did my grandfather tell you what work you are going to be doing?”

Mio shook her head. “No, he only told me the location.”

Eizan sighed. “Be careful. The people there may not be happy about you getting the position.”

Mio gave him a worried look. “Why would they be unhappy?”

“I have a feeling he gave you a fairly high position. Most of his employees are the elite of this world. They have degrees from prestigious universities.”

Mio stuttered. “W-w-why would he put me in such a position?”

Eizan turned off the water in the sink and set down the plate he was cleaning. He walked over to the table and sat down. “I’m betting he is going to give you a position on his personal staff.” Eizan sighed. “It’s most likely a test.”

Mio frowned. “A test?”

“He wants to see how well you can handle yourself in a high-level business environment. I wouldn’t worry too much about the work. I’m sure he wouldn’t give you anything you’re not capable of. Most likely it will just be paperwork to start and answering phone calls.”

“That doesn’t sound so bad.”

He patted the top of Mio’s head. “I’m sure it won’t be. But just so you know. My grandfather is also horrible at keeping things organized.”

Mio looked stunned. “How can that be?”

Eizan scratched his cheek. “Why do you need to organize things when you can remember where everything is? It really only helps those around you.”

Mio frowned. “Is that why you’re always disorganized?”

Eizan giggled. “Were talking about my grandfather.”

Mio laughed. “Are you sure about that?”

Mio’s phone buzzed and she looked down to see an unknown number. She answered it. “Hello.”

A woman’s voice could be heard on the other line. “Is this Sakurai Mio?”

“Yes.”

“This is Alicia Morgan. You may refer to me as Ms. Morgan. I’m your new boss.”

Mio was stunned for a few seconds. “What can I do for you Ms. Morgan?”

“I want you to meet me downstairs in twenty minutes.”

“Ok. I will be there.”

“Good. See you then.” Alicia hung up the phone.

Eizan gave her a wry smile. “I’m guessing that was someone from Carter’s office.”

Mio nodded. She had a funny look on her face. “She told me to meet her downstairs in twenty minutes. Why would she be meeting me here?”

Eizan shrugged. “Who knows. But good luck.” He stood up and planted a kiss on her cheek. “I have to get to work myself.” He walked towards the door and Mio followed him.

“Stop for a second.”

Eizan turned around and looked at the expectant girl. Her face was a little red. “From now on you have to give me a real kiss before you leave.”

Eizan smiled. “Is that it?”

Mio shook her head. “You also have to tell me you love me.”

Eizan nodded. He leaned in and gave her a kiss on the lips. “I love you.”

Mio kissed him back. “I love you too. Now have a good day at work.”

Eizan giggled. “You really are stubborn.”

She giggled. “Get used to it.”

Eizan laughed. “I’ll try.”
