I met up with Rachel and Ms. Terra exactly where Rachel said to meet. Once we got to our table that is in a private booth at the back of the restaurant, we ordered our food. While we were waiting Ms. Terra said, "So did you get a chance to visit Little Eve?"
I nodded. "I did and Agent 60 decided to pay her a visit, along with her friend Daisy. Evelyn really doesn't like it when people besides you call her Little Eve."
Ms. Terra snorted. "Yeah it's always been that way ever since she started working for me. I gave her that nickname and she seems to be fine with it. She really doesn't like it even when her best friends Agent 60 and the woman you call Daisy call her Little Eve. That's my nickname for her, no one else's."
"I see," I said.
"Did Agent 60 or Daisy say anything to you?" Ms. Terra asked.
By now our food had come and Rachel was eating while watching the conversation.
I nodded. "Yeah Agent 60 decided it would be a good idea to snack on Evelyn's get well soon basket that I gave her and Daisy decided to make things awkward by saying Rachel and I will have the cutest children ever and I probably have six pack of abs underneath my clothes."
Rachel spit out her water that she was drinking and started to choke because she couldn't stop laughing. Ms. Terra gave her an amused look. "Are you okay dear?"
Rachel composed herself and cleared her throat, "I'm perfectly fine. Although Daisy's not wrong about the six pack of abs. I should know I've seen him naked plenty of times now!"
Ms. Terra chuckled, "I have a feeling about why she did that."
I was a little amused by Rachel's comment but I was curious as to why Evelyn's friend would try and make things awkward for us. "Why did Daisy do that?"
"Jeremy," Ms. Terra answered, "A few years ago Eve wanted to settle down or at least try to settle down. She met a guy named Jeremy and he seemed like a nice guy. He courted her properly by taking her out on dates going on vacations together. It was perfect. Right when everyone thought Jeremy was going to propose to Eve, she found out that the guy was already married and had a kid. Ever since then she set up boundaries making it very hard for someone who likes her to even get close to her.
"She doesn't want to date anyone who works at her cover jobs and that includes the Boss and she for sure doesn't want to date anyone who's already spoken for."
After hearing that Evelyn doesn't date anyone that she works with meant I didn't really have much of a shot with her to begin with because of me being her Boss. So it made sense why she didn't fall for me while she worked for me.
Rachel looked at Ms. Terra. "So how do we go about getting Levi and Eve together? The plan you came up with yesterday seemed okay but Eve or Levi might not go for it."
Ms. Terra sighed, "That's a good question that I don't know the answer to." She looked at me and frowned. "Even if Eve did fall for you she wouldn't go for you as long as you're engaged. She really doesn't want to be humiliated again like she was with Jeremy."
Hearing the story of what happened between Evelyn and Jeremy really pissed me off. I had half a mind to track him down and beat the crap out of him. But I knew that would be pointless now because that guy was probably long gone and the damage to Evelyn had already been done.
Ms. Terra sighed again, "Yeah I know. But it would be pointless to track that guy down because this Agency has made it so that he won't be able to find her and she won't be able to find him. Standard protocol. It's not against the rules for Agents to date who they work with whether it be on cover jobs or just within the Agency as a matter of fact the Agency prefers that our Agents date people that they're familiar with.
"However, the reason Daisy was trying to make things awkward was to scare you away. Although Eve seems to think Daisy's actions in trying to scare men away from her funny. Probably because most of the time it doesn't work and that makes the man Daisy's trying to scare men away the men are more determined to try and date Eve. Eve does know how to fend off unwanted advances though. One time she was at a bar and someone touched her trying to take advantage of her and she said no. Just right when her friends thought they were going to have to step in and help she kicked the guy's ass and sent him flying into a nearby table.
"Everybody in the bar practically cheered when she did that." She laughed, "I remember like it was yesterday because I was there when it happened. One of her friends drove her home and she was drunk when she handed the guy's ass to him."
My eyes went wide. Okay note to self: Do not piss off Evelyn when she's drunk!
Ms. Terra laughed, "Yeah I wouldn't piss her off when she's drunk. Although when she's drunk she can be pretty patient sometimes and a little emotional. She knows it too and I think that's why she doesn't drink as much as she used to."
"Hmm, what if we put you and Eve together every chance we get you can get to know her better?" Rachel suggested.
I nodded. "That could work. I mean that's how I got to know you and it was mostly after I proposed to you."
"There's a gym that's a couple of blocks away from the office where you work at," said Ms. Terra, "Knowing Eve, she'll probably go there for a workout as soon as she gets out of the hospital."
"So you think maybe Levi should start working out over there?" Rachel asked.
Ms. Terra shrugged. "It's a thought, but that's up to Levi." She looked at me. "What do you think?"
"I'll think about it," I said.
"Translation, he's going to wait until he sees when she goes to the gym and then go to the gym when Eve is working out," Rachel teased.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I raised an eyebrow and gave her a pointed look. She returned the look and smiled. "I was kidding Levi! Don't tell me you're actually going to do what I just joked about you doing are you?"
I didn't say a word but I did take that as a challenge considering I should try and get to know Evelyn better if I'm going to have any chance of going out with her.
Rachel rolled her eyes. "You're seriously going to that aren't you? Why does this not surprise me?"
"What? I gotta figure out how to get to know her. I think because we're still engaged then I'll just have to hang around her in a more public setting," I said. "And she's seen me workout plenty of times. It's going to be interesting to see how she workouts considering she works as a security guard."
Ms. Terra chuckled, "Whatever you do, don't challenge her to a fight."
"Why?" I asked.
"She's beaten guys three times your size before. Although knowing Eve she'll probably hold back because you're a client," Ms. Terra said.
"Honestly, I'd pay good money to see Eve beat the crap out of somebody three times her size. That seems like it would be quite the show," Rachel said.
Ms. Terra looked at her. "I can arrange for you guys to watch her train and you wouldn't have to pay for it. There's an observation room in the gym that only certain people are privy to the knowledge of its existence. You'll be able to see her but she won't be able to see you. It'll have to wait until she's out of the hospital for her to go of course."
"That sounds like a good idea to me. I wouldn't mind seeing that," I said.
Rachel snorted. "Of course you wouldn't!"
Ms. Terra leaned over and whispered something into Rachel's ear. I have no idea what she said to her but Rachel went from having an amused look on her face to a horrified one.
She narrowed her eyes at Ms. Terra. "You wouldn't dare!"
Ms. Terra gave Rachel a mischievous smile. "Oh I would if you keep being naughty today."
I cleared my throat, "Okay you two lovebirds why don't we finish eating lunch and call it a day?"
Ms. Terra laughed and Rachel nodded. So that's what we did. We finished lunch and went back home.

When I finally got out of the hospital I felt so antsy that I wanted to go to the gym and workout at the first possible opportunity. Every time I work out at the gym I never use my abilities because it's a gym that most outsiders not involved with the government go to. Even still I push myself but not hard enough to the point that I have to use my abilities and blow my cover.
After I went into the gym I went towards the fighting ring area and got ready to face the first challenger of the day. The fighting ring is actually a ring that one would see at a wrestling match.
There are certain days that the ring is open to just martial arts fighters which means you don't need to wear gloves in order to fight in the ring and then there's days that the ring is only open to boxers. I went on the day that the ring is open to just martial arts fighters. I hate fighting with boxing gloves. Not that I can't fight with the gloves, they're just annoying to me.
When I got into the ring I grinned because the challenger looked awfully familiar to me. The guy was a bodybuilder and he won third place in a national bodybuilding competition. I don't know which one it was but I know it's the type of competition that's a big deal. I've seen articles of him on social media websites and on the news. His name is Mark Stranger.
I almost felt sorry for the guy because of his last name. Although he did say that he got into bodybuilding to get strong though to confront his bullies in school.
Mark looked at me and snickered, "You must be crazy enough to have a death wish today little lady! Do you know who I am?"
I smirked. "I know who you are, Mark Stranger." I cracked my knuckles. "And I need a good workout after being cooped up in a hospital room for a while."
He cracked his knuckles. "Alright then, suit yourself and I'm not holding back just because you're a woman!"
I chuckled, "Oh, I don't expect you to! That'd be kind of offensive if you did."
The bell rang and Mark charged at me, grabbed my arm and flipped me over his head and put me in a chokehold. I grinned because it looked like he thought this was going to be an easy win for him. He thought wrong on that. I broke out of the chokehold by grabbing his arm that was underneath my chin. After I grabbed it I stomped on his foot making him yelp in pain. At that moment I quickly turned around and punched him in the stomach.
He stumbled backwards and wheezed a little but he readied his fighting stance again. I smiled and thought. Now we're cooking! That's what he gets for underestimating me!
I swung at him and he dodged the next couple of punches I threw at him but barely. He threw a punch and it landed on my stomach almost knocking the wind out of me. He landed another kick that had me do a faceplant on the floor.
"Ready to give up?" He asked as I got to my feet.
I wiped some blood off my mouth and shook my head. "Nope! Are you ready to give up?"
Mark shook his head. I smiled. "Then this fight isn't over!"
As the fight went on it looked a lot like we were evenly matched and I was holding back on my strength so it wouldn't trigger my body wanting to use one of my abilities by accident. Just right when it looked like I was down for the count I got up and landed the winning punch to Mark's jaw sending flat on his back on the ground. The bell rang signaling the end of the fight.
I helped Mark get to his feet and he smiled at me. "Damn! That was a good workout! You gave me a run for my money there."
I shrugged. "You're not the first big guy I've fought in the ring before. At least you're not throwing a temper tantrum because you were beaten by a woman much smaller than you."
Mark gave me a look of disbelief. "Seriously?"
I shrugged again. "Eh, sad but true."
Mark smiled. "Okay do you think we could do this again sometime? You're a very strong fighter and a lot of other people don't compare to your fighting skills."
"I'm sorry but I'm going to have to decline. My job keeps me on the move most of the time," I said. "I don't always get a chance to workout like this."
He frowned. "Well damn, at least let me give you my phone number."
I paused. "I uh…"
I've had guys ask me for my number before after beating them in a fight. But honestly, I think they're just flirting with me because I've proved myself to be strong.
"I see you're hesitating, I really just wanna try and fight you again, that's all," Mark said.
I didn't respond because I didn't trust the guy. I blame Jeremy, my ex-boyfriend for that because that's exactly how our relationship started. I met him at the gym. He gave me his phone number. I dated him for a while and then his wife contacted me.
Needless to say I have some trust issues about meeting guys at a gym now.
I turned around and went to the locker room and Mark followed me.
"Let me guess, you have trust issues don't you?" Mark asked. When I didn't reply he shook his head. He went to his locker which was a short distance away from the female's locker room. He pulled out a small notebook and wrote something down on a piece of paper and handed it to me. "At least this way you'll at least have my number. Feel free to call me anytime you get a chance to go to the gym and workout."
I nodded and took the piece of paper. "Okay then, but if I don't call you don't be disappointed okay?"
Mark smiled and nodded. "Sure, see you around, later!"
I said goodbye and entered the females locker room and headed towards my locker. I don't like taking showers at the gym because I still feel dirty after the shower. So I just wait until I get home to take a shower.
I left the gym and went home forgetting about the handwritten number in my gym bag.
