The next time I woke up it was still dark out. I knew this because I looked out the window of my hospital room and it was dark out and the alarm clock on my nightstand said it was 3:30 am.

"Eve? What are you doing up?" I heard someone say. At first I thought it was Levi but when I looked over towards the couch I saw the same girl that I've been seeing over and over again in my dreams lately sitting on the couch.

I groaned, "Why are you in my dreams again?"

The girl smiled. "Success!"

I paused. "Huh?"

Before I could say anything else I heard Levi say, "You're awake! Look at what I found!"

I turned to him and saw that he was holding a pure white bunny rabbit, the same bunny rabbit I've been seeing in my dreams too.

"Okay, what's going on?" I asked.

The girl rolled her eyes. "If you don't believe that you're awake then touch my hand."

She held out her hand and when I went to shake it my hand went right through her. I gasped and took my hand back. "So what do you want from me?"

"It's simple, you agree to let me control your body from time to time and I help you control your Demon Power," the girl said. "And I think it's time I tell you what my name is."

I paused. "Seriously? Now you're going to tell me your name?"

The girl nodded. "Yup! I wanted to wait until I was able to contact you in your waking hours and not just in your sleep. And my name is Izzy!"

I smiled. "Izzy huh? That's a lovely name for a demon!"

Izzy snorted. "That's exactly what Levi said! People have very misguided perceptions about demons and what their names should be."

"Okay then. So I just call your name when I want to summon you?" I asked.

She nodded. "That's pretty much it." She looked at the alarm clock on my nightstand. "Well I've figured out how to contact you while you're awake finally. So if you want to go back to sleep you're fine I promise I won't disturb you."

Before I could respond Izzy looked over at the bunny rabbit sitting on Levi's lap. "Come on Rex, we did our part today, now let's go."

Without another word, Izzy scooped Rex up in her arms and disappeared.

The next day I was cleared to leave the hospital. When I got home I sat down on the couch and stared off into space for a bit. Levi came and sat down next to me. "What are you thinking about?"

I shrugged. "Honestly, I don't know what to think. I have this demon that wants to control my body from time to time and then there's Trainer Michael who for some reason seems to be rather obsessed with me throwing semi trucks in the air!"

Levi's jaw dropped. "Seriously? Is that what he's been training you to do lately?"

"Yup! That is after I pull three semi trucks five or more miles a day," I said. "Yeah I have no idea what that's all about. At least I get a break today. I don't know about you but I love to sit in a Jacuzzi for a bit."

Levi's jaw dropped again. "Again, seriously? Who are you and what have you done with Eve?"

I chuckled. "Yeah I know. Normally I can't sit still so I go to the gym and workout but this time I think I should just try to relax a little bit before I go back to my training the next day. You want to join me?"

Levi nodded. "Sounds like a good idea to me and I'll send for a servant to grab us some food while we're at it. You have the day off and so do I. We can also use this as an opportunity to bond with each other more."

I smiled. "I like the sound of that!"

So that's what we did for the day. We relaxed and talked to each other about anything and the next day I was ready to get back to work.

{Levi}

I swear Trainer Michael is pushing Eve way too hard. I was able to watch some of Eve's training and Eve wasn't kidding when she said he was having her drag three semi trucks chained together over five miles every time she trains with him! Here I thought my intense workouts at the gym were rough!

Today I was sitting in the observation room watching Eve train and after Trainer Michael had her drag the semi trucks, he had moved on to hand to hand to combat. But it wasn't just him fighting, he had three other Agents with him who looked like they were just as strong he was or stronger. It looked like a fight that Eve couldn't win.

Trainer Michael said something to her and gave him a wicked smile. They started the fight and Eve was giving it everything she had. I could tell she wasn't holding back. Every punch, every punch thrown at her she either blocked or dodged and then returned a couple of punches and kicks of her own. She managed to take down one of the Agents that he was training with by kicking him in the stomach hard enough to knock him against a nearby wall and knock him out.

Just when it looked like Eve had the upper hand Trainer Michael decided to wrestle Eve down to the ground on her back and he stepped on her neck while looking her in the eye. He said something to her and she gave him a sinister smile in return and grabbed his ankle. Even though I couldn't hear what they were saying because they were a bit of a distance out of earshot of course I heard a loud snap that sounded like a bone breaking.

I heard Trainer Michael scream as Eve used this as an opportunity to push him off her. She sat up coughing a bit and Trainer Michael looked at his leg and smiled as he saw that it was broken with the bones hanging out. He reached down, grabbed his leg and set it. After that he waited for a moment and his leg completely healed itself!

Eve stood up and gave him a hand and once Trainer Michael got to his feet, he just walked off as if nothing had happened. As I sat in the observation room watching this my jaw was dropped.

"Enjoy the show?" I heard George laugh.

"I still can't get over the fact that Eve and her Uncle aren't normal people!" I exclaimed, "I mean seriously Eve broke Trainer Michael's leg and he just set it and got up and walked away as if nothing happened! If that happened you or me we'd be in a cast for six to eight weeks before it healed!"

"Actually, I signed up to be tested on so it's very possible that later down the road I might be like Eve and become an Agent," George said.

I blinked and gave him a look of disbelief. "What?"

He nodded. "It's true I signed up to be tested on. So I'm starting as a Lab Rat with no rank and then after a while I'll start training as a Cadet. Honestly I'm excited about this! And it's been a while since I've gotten excited about anything."

"Are you nuts?" I said, "I don't even want to imagine how much pain they would put you in."

"Yeah I asked them if you could apply too but when I told them that you were married to Eve they got quiet and said you might not be able to because she's a Prodigy," George said.

"Works for me, I don't think I'm up to going through whatever Eve is going through," I said.

"Chicken," George teased.

I nodded and smirked. "Yes, yes I am!"

George rolled his eyes. "Of course you are! But I really can't wait to start the testing! You know what they say? No pain, no gain!"

I snorted. "Sure sure whatever you say George. Whatever you say…"

I stood up and started to leave to go check up on Eve when George said, "I really can't wait to get started on the testing and I'll get paid just to be tested on. I wonder what type of abilities I'll get?"

I don't know why but I flinched when he said that. I also didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything. I just walked out the door and went to find Eve.

{George}

The first time I met Eve she was Levi's Personal Assistant. I was instantly smitten with her but she didn't like me and she didn't like Levi either. I didn't realize that her working as Levi's Assistant was actually a cover job for her real job as an Agent. Her strength, her abilities and her persistence on doing her job the best way she could do it I admired that.

I wanted to be just like Eve or close to it. So I figured out how to sign up by asking Ms. Terra about it. She directed me to someone who oversees the tests and I talked to them about it. After I talked to them about it, I stood in front of the Elders and signed a contract stating that I was going to be tested on and the compensation that I would get for it.

True, I understood that there was pain going to be involved but I didn't care. I wanted to be stronger. First time in a while I felt extremely excited about something. The last time I ever felt excited about something was when the football team I was in won the championship game for our college.

As I watched Levi leave the observation room my cell phone rang. I picked it up, "Hello?"

"Hello, is this George Harriman that I'm talking to?" A voice on the other line asked.

I grinned. "Yes, this is George speaking. Who is it?"

"I'm the recruiter that you spoke to last time about doing the testing," the voice said. "It'll be in Building C. I'll be sending a text message giving you further directions on where to go. Have a good day sir."

I hung up the phone. As soon as I hung up I received a text.

Look for a building called: AWOC Recruitment- Building C. When you get there go up to the second floor suite 204. Be there tomorrow at 6am sharp!

After I was sent the text message I couldn't stop grinning. Right now, tomorrow couldn't come fast enough.

At 6am I arrived at the location and was escorted to a waiting room. The recruiter who was referred to as Recruiter Ace greeted me and escorted me to another room that looked like a jail cell.

I raised an eyebrow. "Why does this room look like a jail cell?"

Recruiter Ace laughed, "That question never gets old! But no, this isn't a jail cell, it's a place we hold Lab Rats for observation after a test is done. Remember how I told you that you'll be referred to as a Lab Rat and then later on down the line move up the ranks to a Cadet?"

I nodded. "Yes."

"Well you'll be spending a couple of weeks here first for the first few tests," He explained. "Then depending on what abilities you've developed, you will be moved to another area within the building and you'll go through another series of testing there. Now I'm going to ask you again, are you sure that you want to do this? Because the testing from here on out is going to be painful and I mean VERY painful!"

"Yes, I'm sure. I want to do this," I answered.

He nodded. "Alright then because as soon as we start the tests, there's no going back."

I smiled. "That's fine by me!"

Recruiter Ace wasn't kidding when he said that the tests were going to be very painful. As a matter of fact, he seemed proud that the testing was painful. I swear I think he's a bit of a psycho but hey I guess this is a normal day at the office for him.

The first test had a lot to do with getting a series of shots and it's the side effects of the shots that supposedly help an Agent develop their powers. After the second shot I was on the floor in mind numbing pain.

I was glad that I hadn't had anything to eat because my stomach didn't like me at all. Regardless I was determined to see this through.

It was at least a half an hour after I had the second shot when Recruiter Ace walked into the room. He had a packet of stickers with him and he placed one on my forehead. He smiled. "You're at a 3.5! Not bad, not bad at all! You're almost there at the threshold for developing abilities. And today is only your first day! Okay that's all the testing we're going to do today because your body needs a break. I'll bring you some food later."

Recruiter Ace gently pulled the sticker off my forehead and left my room.
