War

Inside a grand palace, with each hallway prominent with gold, so much so one would start to dislike the color, were many people of grand status themselves exiting via two gold double doors.

As the pool of people leaving came to a halt, a man with royal purple hair entered.

Inside the throne room, a stressed man, aged by stress, sat on the throne, with a sigh, he closed his eyes.

However, he didn't have a single break.

"Father!" Looking at the man with long purple hair, who was adjacent to him, he adorned a worried expression.

Looking at his father, he remembered his unblemished face, now riddled with many impurities.

His frown deepened even more.

"Dad, how did it go?" Clenching his fist, knowing the cause of his father's stress, he could only ask, hoping for a way to victory.

"It went... fine, Ryan."

Ryan, who heard the pause in his father's voice, coupled with the specific word choice, knew things didn't go as well as hoped.

Coming closer, his expression grave, he asked his father.

"Dad... how are we going to win against that monster?"

His father, with lustrous purple pupils and eyes, sighed.

"That, Ryan, I do not yet know."

After another long day of classes, Isaac continued on his walk.

Specifically, he was headed towards the principal's office.

Flashing his medallion towards the security outside his masters' office, they quickly moved to the side, bowing.

After a couple seconds, they raised their heads a tad bit, allowing themselves to open the door for him themselves.

Looking inside, he saw his master already matching gaze.

Entering the room, which was quickly closed, he asked his master.

"Why did you call me again? Don't tell me this is going to be daily occurrence."

Moving his eyes to the woman with white hair, which had odd purple strands, he wondered if she truly had no other job besides being his messenger.

Liam, not taking his disciple's words to heart, he replied with smiles.

"Before teaching you anything, I need to see where your levels at." Completely ignoring his question and opening mouth, he teleported the both of them to a wide, green plain.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Seeing the shift of location, which he didn't even sense, he realized the man in front of him was truly at a different level.

'Well, at least I have a good master.'

"Come."

Hearing his words, he wasted no time.

Brandishing his spear, he used Fire Burst, along with shifting every ounce of strength to his legs, he went so fast a popping sound was heard.

Feeling the traverse winds his face contorted, going past the speed he was used to.

At a speed of approximately 700 mph, he thrust his spear, coated in fire.

However, he suddenly stopped.

Not a single inch of his body moved.

Space itself held him still.

----

With disheveled hair, he looked towards his master.

"Hey! I thought you were gauging my power not abusing me!"

During the battle, space and various battle techniques were used on him, each stopping him in his tracks.

Nonetheless, his master looked at him seriously.

"Although the usage of your spear can be improved, your instinct itself is one gained from many battles."

"At this point, all I can do is help you with your spear and spells, your magic is already at the level of a Master."

Feeling slightly distraught that the only path he could provide was a guidance with a spear, which he himself sought to be at the peak of, he looked at the young boy in front of him.

'Haah, why was I placed here? None of the other seven peaks could've been restrained?'

Wanting to just enjoy his life, feeling as if the one he was waiting for was already above his own capabilities, he sighed.

"Damn old fogey, maybe I shouldn't have accepted..." With his voice trailing off at the end, he hoped he didn't hear...

He didn't want another beating...

Internally, he swore that once he'd grown stronger, he'd discipline the bastard in front him.

"Hey! I'm not old!" With an enraged shout, he wondered if he should've beat his disobedient disciple.

"Well, is there really nothing you can give me to improve myself faster?"

Thinking deeply, with his finger on his chin, Liam thought.

'Well, I could send him there... Although it would be dangerous.'

Hiding his thoughts from his disciple, he replied, "No."

However, Isaac saw the face of realization earlier on his face.

Seeing the retaliating expression, he sighed.

"There is one place, however, I don't recommend it. No one does, actually."

Thinking about the usual exploration of a dangerous forest, filled with mist, Isaac felt his childhood dream could become reality.

"Come on, tell me."

With a serious expression, he said.

"There is one special place, it could improve things you never noticed earlier, or it could kill you before you can fix those mistakes."

Not letting Isaac complain about the suspense, he continued.

"War."

Frowning, Isaac didn't know if he was ready.

The thought of bloodshed didn't scare him, instead it was the opposite.

The kingdom of Freesia was currently in a loss in the war.

During his travels, he made sure to keep himself updated, so naturally, he knew the kingdom he resided it was currently losing.

Naturally, he didn't want to fight a war he would lose.

He was one man.

He couldn't stop thousands, hundreds of thousands, even.

Nonetheless, he knew it was a surefire path to strength.

Issues he was blind to would reveal themselves and his flaws would be perfected.

However, at the same time, he understood that fighting in a war could very well screw him over.

Looking at the contrasting faces Isaac was showing, Liam spoke up.

"Isaac, do not lose yourself in the path to power. Many will be envious of your talent; some will even try to crush the rising phoenix."

With a serious expression, Liam looked at him, "However, I have decided, over the years, to shelter you fully. As my disciple, I will give it my all to pass down my knowledge to you."

Hearing his master, his image of him was improved.

"Master, give me a month at this academy, and teach me as much as you can in that time."

Continuing, he answered.

"I want to participate in this war." With a resolute expression, he declared.

The second turning point began.
