From the information laid out on the poster, Ashen Forest was once a bright green, luscious forest.
Unfortunately, that was before the gray wolves, now termed Ashen Wolves invaded the beautiful space.
Afterwards, due to immense fights for contention and space with other animals, their fire ability completely overturned this forest.
From a once beautiful forest, what now laid was an ashy forest, with little amounts of trees.
Unfortunately, with their dark-furred color, the wolves blended with the environment surprisingly well.
Frightenedly, in fact, to the point that this forest wasn't something that a new recruit would take.
With their overwhelming biting strength and overall strength, coupled with their camouflage, most newbies were stayed away from this place.
However, not only was Isaac here to fight the strongest beast, but he was also there to kill multiple of these same beasts.
'I must've been late or something, there's no way she gave me this quest right off the bat.' Isaac thought, thinking that she was a little unfair.
Brandishing his spear, Isaac ventured inside the forest.
Due to the surroundings, Isaac was quite alert, not knowing when an ambush might happen.
Hearing the rustling of leaves near him, Isaac turned, spear in hand, ready to pierce its foes.
Turning, Isaac saw a lone wolf, with dark brown eyes that stared into his soul itself.
Slightly shook by the will, tempered by the law of the jungle, Isaac took a step back.
Seeing his action, the wolf darted towards him, with his paw outstretched, he expected to claw through the human's flesh.
Unexpectedly, however, the human evaded, seemingly effortlessly, before moving his arm. That was the last he saw.
Looking at the ashen wolf, pierced entirely by his spear, that encroached itself all the way to the top of his skull, Isaac sighed.
Although it was just a beast, Isaac didn't like the feeling of spilling blood. Eventually, however, he knew that he would get used to it.
Perhaps, at some moments, he'll even enjoy it.
Seeing it's speed and strength, however, Isaac knew that this wasn't part of the beasts he wanted to hunt.

If anything, the wolf was probably beginner rank according to the power system of the Adventurer's Guild.
Turning from the body coated with his own blood, Isaac knew that the body would soon be attracted by other beasts and eaten, and with that, he left.
While traversing through the various plants and trees still left, Isaac had an idea.
'Should I limit my strength for battle experience?' Although it sounded ridiculous, Isaac would rather improve against a beast that he could easily kill with a switch.
Although even with his limiter it was never life and death, it was better than fighting against a beast at the same level, with obviously lower battle experience.
At the same moment, another wolf appeared behind him.
Deciding to lower the amount of mana that coated him and spear, which allowed for stronger attacks, Isaac, without magic, was now around the same level as the fox.
The main difference between ranks as mages was more mana capacity and higher mana quality. These two caused mages to be unable to fight those above in rank.
However, if a mage lowered their mana, not to the exact amount their opponent was using due to their superior quality, but even lower, they could have an even fight.
This was what Isaac was planning to do. Although trying it out on beasts, that were usually stronger than humans of that same rank was quite reckless, if push comes to shove, he could always overpower it with magic spells.
Eyeing each other down, they both moved at the same time, with the beast moving slightly faster due to its innate advantages.
Noticing the slight difference in speed, Isaac made it seem like he would attack, which he did, and seeing the incoming claws, he sidestepped, before immediately attacking as fast as possible.
The wolf, seeing this, dodged, however, it wasn't without a price, as blood slowly trickled down the side of his mane.
With the two circling each other, the wolf attacked, unbeknownst, to Isaac, however, a small twig was at the side of his foot.
Intending to dodge, like last time, the twig unexpectedly got in his way, throwing him completely off balance.
With the wolf also expecting the same situation, and seeing the human lose stability, he immediately bared his teeth into Isaac's arm that was holding the spear.
Feeling as if he was reliving a situation, he grabbed the spear with the other hand before impaling the wolf with new-found strength.
Although he felt severe pain, and he felt resistance piercing the wolf, he knew he got stronger, by how much? That was unknown.
"Haah, Haah, that was close, too close." Breathing roughly, Isaac took out a potion, specifically, a healing potion that was under all the bread he stored.
He wasn't an idiot where he thought that he wouldn't get injured in any sort of way.
Gulping the red-tinted potion, Isaac felt more pain, before it eased up, seeing two holes, bared open by the wolves' canines, he slowly saw them repairing themselves.
Ripping a piece of his old shirt, that was stored within his mana ring, he wrapped it over his injury.
Thinking of the past situation, Isaac found it extremely similar to his dream he had this very morning, in his eyes, it was more than eerie thanks to the similarities he saw.
He somehow felt, that without that dream, he wouldn't been more shaken when the wolf bit his arm, instead of resolutely picking his spear.
Knowing that he likely won't receive an answer, he still asked anyway.
"System, why was my dream so similar to my actions just now?" Being vague, Isaac asked.
[Sweet Dreams, owner.] The indifferent voice answered.
Not liking the response, Isaac narrowed his eyes. Regardless, he knew that he wouldn't get any answers anytime soon.
So, he resolutely stood up, intending to hunt some more and finish the mission his master gave him.
Smilingly, Isaac remembered his fight with the wolf again, and remembering the adrenaline coursing through, his smile turned into a grin.
