Second Trial [2]

Second Trial [2]

After killing the pack of wolves led by the Expert Ranked wolf, Isaac had no doubt that he'd pass.

He only expected failure if the trial was days long, so he sat atop a tree branch, surveilling the area, before taking a nap.

Although the fight with the Expert Ranked wolf was difficult, he wasn't exactly tired, yes, he was fatigued, but he could manage.

However, he saw no point in trying his hardest simply for a trial for entry when he had already beaten an Expert Ranked wolf.

On that basis alone, he was likely to enter. After all, even though there was a point system, the principal never specified how many you need.

Regardless, the starry sky was already out, giving advantage to the wolves. Isaac also doubted that many could achieve over 50 points in a single day, and with that thought, he slightly dozed off.

----

The bright, yellow light from the sun awoke Isaac, thanks to the irritation his eyes felt.

Waking up and looking around him, he noticed that he was still in the trial, and with that thought, he decided to continue hunting.

Although being a lazy bum felt good, battle treated him better.

Snarling at his crazy thoughts, Isaac decided to get on the move, looking for prey.

After a couple of minutes of nothing, Isaac started to think the forest was completely emptied out.

However, a loud shriek proved him wrong.

"AHH!!!"

The shriek, encompassing fear and unwillingness was completely ignored by Isaac.

However, an idea suddenly sparked in his mind.

Immediately, a grin formed, distorting his face.

----

5 minutes earlier.

"So, how many beasts do you think we'll kill today?" A teenage, black-haired boy, dressed in casual clothes, said to the girl behind him.

"Dane, you know I don't like unnecessary killing, please stop."

The boy, Dane, chuckled at her response. Deciding to stop his teasing he talked about something else.

"Well, Jane, I wish we would've received some armor, these guys at the academy are nonsensical."

Jane, the brown-haired girl, somewhat agreed with him. Although as a mage, she didn't wear heavy, metal armor, she would still prefer anything over her casual, everyday clothing during battle.

Somewhat lighting the mood, the two continued walking, unaware of the hound awaiting the perfect moment.

However, suddenly, a wolf appeared in front of the two.

"Jane, get ready to support!"

Calling to Jane, who was immediately ready to support with her wind magic, Dane headed towards the bold wolf.

Evading each other's attacks for a while, with none finding the upper hand, Jane finally found an opening, using her spell, 'Wind Cutter.'

Winds of small sizes headed towards the wolf, and initially, he thought nothing of them, however, when they contacted his body, immediately, chunks of flesh and blood spilled.

With no chance to retaliate, he saw a brazen sword, which he recognized from the other entity, come down at him, ending his life.

Fatigued from the long battle, Dane let down his sword, sheathing it, and as he brought his hand close to his forehead, to wipe the sweat from the long battle, he was met with a searing pain from his stomach.

Like a flood, a red substance fell from his mouth continuously, with seemingly no end.

Suddenly, he felt the wind, before he saw the world completely rotating, and just like that, he died.

Jane, who watched a giant, brown wolf, pierce, and then throw Dane effortlessly to his death, was completely shaken.

"AHH!!!"

Jane was completely frightened, from seeing her only friend die, to feeling the immense strength of this beast, she knew that she was easy prey in its eyes.

As if playing with her, the brown beast slowly approached, its eyes gleaming from the look in her eyes and face.

Slowly and steadily nearing her face, a voice called, out "Hey, stop that!"

Immediately, the wolf turned, seeing the eminent ball of fire approaching it quickly dodged, and the fireball, well, completely turned Jane's body to ash.

The boy, with golden eyes, seemed to have all the color drain from his face, seeing the result of his attack.

'Fuck, my acting skills are top tier.'

Obviously, the boy was Isaac.

Seeing the Expert Ranked wolf, he decided to end it quick, if possible, he didn't even want it to use its skill.

However, he lacked a truly strong skill, which he learned during his last fight.

Although his spells were great for weak beasts and mages, during the middle ranks of this world, which he entered, he found them to be ineffective.

Fortunately, however, he could still kill an Expert Ranked relatively quickly, Master Ranked beasts, however, was something he didn't want to yet think about.

Not only were Master Ranked beasts smarter, stronger, but they also had more access to skills related to their bloodline.

All beasts took skills from their bloodline, that's why they couldn't just copy skills from humans, regardless, however, their anatomy is completely different from humans, which is why we cannot copy their skills ourselves.

Focusing on the battle, Isaac started with Fire Chains, immediately followed with Fire Spear Aura.

While the beast focused on the chains, he conjured multiple fire lances, aiming at the wolves' eyes.

The wolf, seeing its upcoming issues, slightly nudged at the chains, before breaking free, barely dodging the three lances.

However, it was met with a blazing spear.

'Lion's Spear'

Piercing its head, he saw the wolves' body fall, lifeless.

This time, he was lucky enough the wolf never judged him as a threat from the start, if it did, it would have used its ability from the start.

However, the wolf, seeing him kill its own comrade, slightly lowered its guard against Isaac.

Now, obviously, Isaac from the start intended to kill the girl.

Why?

Well, what if the girl's points were given to him since he killed her?

It was a common trope, and he felt like lazing around, so why not?

However, if any of the staff were looking and saw him kill a fellow student with a gleeful expression, certainly he wouldn't have the easiest time.

So, he made it look like an accident.

Regardless of how terrible it looked, as long as he said it was a mistake, he would lower the consequences.

Sadly, looking at the watch, it read, '117'

He previously had 97 points, the twenty given to him by the brown wolf.

'I guess the Academy doesn't want to encourage killing among students.'

Sighing, Isaac continued his hunt.
