Second Trial

Getting over the fact the principal was none other than one of the strongest, if not the strongest human in the world, the fact that he was also a spatial practitioner was nothing short of shocking.

Mages with spatial affinities were nothing short of rare by itself, however, most, if not all of them had a special trait.

Eccentricity.

For some divine reason, all spatial users had something wrong with their head, most coming to the reasoning that feeling space and its complexity as a whole day and night is too much for them, coping with their eccentricity.

Regardless of the reason, most spatial practitioners die of early age, speculated to be because of the constant strain of space, now why can't they just stop sensing space?

Well, they can't. Space sticks with them, as if it was its newborn child. Sadly, because of dozens of years of stress, they finally rest.

Anyway, they all focused on the principal, seeing he was going to speak. "The second trial consists of hunting beasts. Each beasts gives a varying number of points based on strength; trainee ranked beasts will not give a single point. Anything above, however, will."

The principal smirked, not clarifying the point system, nor the threshold to pass this trial.

"Although, there will be a ranking, however, it'll only be displayed towards staff, don't worry about that."

Continuing his wide smile, he flung his arm to the side, where on everyone's forearm, a mysterious silver watch appeared.

Surprisingly, even to Isaac, this watch was especially advanced.

Everyone, but one person was shocked.

'Hmm? The new version of the Skyless Watch?' Amelia thought, knowing that this watch hasn't yet been released to the public.

"Please, take care." The principal ominously said, disappearing completely from their view.

Shockingly being left being in a forest with no weapons, many panicked, however, some cool-headed ones instead looked towards the watch.

One of them was Isaac.

Pressing the side button, which turned the watch on, he saw a holographic screen appear in front of him, and by the looks of it, with no one staring, he guessed only he, somehow, could see it.

Regardless, on the screen, a text read, "Please select an option."

1. Sword

2. Spear

3. Bow

4. Battleaxe

5. Katana

6...

Seeing the endless flow of options, Isaac merely chose option 2.

After the two months of training, he could say, by any means, that he was no longer a beginner.

Anyways, after choosing option two, the screen folded in itself, disappearing completely, before a spear appeared in its place.

The spear was by no means unique, probably, something a commoner could afford. However, it was by no means terrible, the condition was still great, so he had no complaints.

Moving on with the spear in hand, he grinned viciously, intending to spill as much blood as he wants.

Venturing inside the forest, Isaac saw the beautiful forest as it is, slightly enamored by its beauty, something unseen by him on Earth.

Although he enjoyed its beauty, he kept his guard up at all times, even though this was a trial, he had no doubt the injuries and monsters were real.

Regardless, after a couple of minutes of mindless wandering, he finally saw a beast. Gauging its aura, Isaac determined that it was a Beginner Ranked wolf.

Not wasting his time nor depleting his mana, he merely dashed imperceptibly to the wolf, cleaning piercing it.

As the wolf's body dropped, he saw the wolf being enwrapped in mana, before it completely vanished.

Knowing that it was probably one of the staff he shrugged it off, looking at his watch that ringed earlier, he saw a number displayed on it.

1.

Knowing that beginner ranked wolves gave one point, he decided to not waste his time on them.

He had no idea whether this trial would last 12 hours, a day, a week even, so, he decided to fight wolves on higher ranks.

'Hopefully my luck activates.'

Sighing, he internally said, 'I really need a skill or ability where I can sense the beasts around me.'

Thinking it was a good idea to try, he saved the idea for later.

----

Hours later, Isaac found himself still wandering, although he had hunted some beasts.

Looking at his watch expectantly, Isaac saw the number, '49'

Novice Ranked beasts themselves gave 5 points, so about 25 of those were from Novice Ranked beasts.

However, his luck was shit, so he was forced to hunt weak beasts as a result.

Fortunately, however, he was getting closer to the deeper ends of the forest, where he found that stronger beasts laid.

With his Second Circle and with his body at Awakened Rank, he had no worries about this forest.

Jumping from tree branch to tree branch, he saw a bigger wolf, commanding the wolves behind it.

The wolf was gray in color; however, the surprising factor was its size.

Unlike those on Earth, this wolf was about three times their size!

Feeling excitement bubbling within, he grinned, jumping at the wolf with his spear in hand.

Sensing danger, the wolf jumped backwards, saving itself from a quick death.

Immediately after, the wolf saw a human, filled-with muscles all over, however, it wasn't a monstrous amount, however, you could definitely see the power inside his body.

Regardless, the human didn't give him much breathing space, immediately jumping at him again.

Isaac then grabbed his spear, coating it in fire, 'Fire Spear Aura.'

Seeing an opening thanks to the wolves' awkward position, Isaac darted, intending to injure his opponent.

However, seeing the pack of seven surrounding the big wolf, he cast fire chains, however, this time, a chain appeared in his hand as well.

Afterwards, he threw the chain, which wrapped itself over an unlucky wolf, which he then pulled, aiming upwards.

The wolf was then airborne, and defenseless, then casting a fire lance, the wolf was impaled, falling from the sky, dead.

The quick actions gave them no time to reach him and stop, although some tried.

Seeing the incoming three wolves, Isaac casted Fire Palm.

Seeing the incoming torrent of fire, which would definitely kill them, they dodged, and while they were airborne, Isaac used Fire Burst.

Finally landing on the ground, the wolf was met with a silver spear, one that was coated with fire, no less.

*Puchi*

Seeing so many of its pack be killed in front of its eyes, they turned bloodshot, roaring at Isaac, indicating its great enragement.

Seeing its pack of five and the boss itself come to him, he wasn't shaken at all, quite the opposite, really.

Smiling, he effortlessly danced around the giant wolf, killing its weak pack, all while taunting the overly grown wolf.

Whenever it came close, he would dash away with Fire Burst, sending a lance or chains at some, and with that, it was only him and the gray wolf.

Intending to end it with this clash, the gray wolf finally attacked.

Although Isaac this time, was more wary.

Beasts from Expert Rank or higher had abilities, whether it was basic to the point that it'll increase their bodily strength, or an ability, like flames, so power that it burns the earth itself faster than lava.

Although he doubted it as this was just a trial, he had no thoughts of letting his guard down.

Seeing the wolf dash at him, he noticed that its speed was greater than his!

Knowing that wasn't possible as he was evading it earlier, he guessed that the beasts' skill came into play.

Dashing backwards, he saw a quick opening. With its giant figure, it had more areas to take care of and naturally, Isaac knew this.

Having an idea, Isaac ran away from the giant beast.

Angling himself to the right, he used Fire Burst, right as he was covered by a tree, catching the wolf off guard.

'Lion's Spear.' Using Lion's Spear which increased his strength, he pierced through the wolf's head seemingly effortlessly.

Realizing that he was too wary of the wolves' skill, he realized that they actually weren't that strong.

Although, he might just have fought a weaker tone.

Regardless, his watch now read, '69'.
