"I'll keep it short. Tainted Prince, become my disciple."
Kenneth's words rang out inside his mind, and like most that come from this man, it was utterly shocking.
'Again?!'
It seemed that every man who had high qualifications, seemed to want to train him, why?!
Sure, he was talented, but was that really all there was to it?
He was an augmenter, not even a mage with the fire affinity, so Kenneth couldn't even pass down his magic knowledge regarding flames with him.
At least, in his eyes.
This guy, no, all his masters were crazy!
Why do they all want him so much?!
What did he do in his past bedridden life to cause him to have an aura that seemingly attracted old heads to teach him?
"Sorry, General, but I already have a master who's taught me extremely well, and I don't want to tarnish their wishes."
Hinting at the fact that his master, who was Tasha, didn't want him to accept any more masters, Kenneth took the hint.
However, that didn't mean he'd give up so easily on such a generational talent.
From his facial features, he could see that Isaac wasn't that old, although mages lived a long while and their youth was extremely long, he could see in his gaze, that sometimes-held curiosity, he wasn't someone that old.
At the same time, however, he was already at the level of Master, something that took a decade to accomplish for even the greatest talent.
"Tainted Prince, I understand your worries." Kenneth spoke calmly.
"The doubt of me not having the necessary qualifications to teach you."
Stopping him, Isaac said, "General, it is not only due to my Masters wish, but I also wish to live as a common soldier and truly experience war."
Continuing, Isaac interrupted, knowing what Kenneth was about to say.
"And no, I don't wish to secretly have you as my master. I truly, with all meaning, wish to live as a common soldier with no grand background to speak of."
Bowing, showing his sincerity, hoping to quell Kenneth's constant rebuttals, he heard Kenneth agree.
Stolen story; please report.
"If that is what you wish."
Thinking that he was finally done with the problem with Kenneth, he was dropped yet another bombshell.
"Since in this small skirmish, you have done such a well job, you deserve to be rewarded."
Not liking the feeling crawling up his spine, his later words caused his eyes to widen.
"For such excellence during battle, I have promoted you."
With a badge of a bird flying above two swords, embedded in the earth appearing suddenly on his robe, he remembered the medallion.
Although that was golden, and this was blue.
"This blue badge means something great inside this army."
Showing his own badge, which was completely red, he continued.
"Specifically, you are now my one and only...
Right hand man."
'This guy just won't let me go, huh?'
"General, I am honored, however, am I really worthy of such a position?"
Questioning Kenneth, hoping to change his perspective of things, he was met a simple reply.
"Yes."
----
Following someone, who looked regal themselves, he was being taken to a place closer to General Kenneth's office, and residence.
This place looked like the spot of nobles.
He felt many auras of Experts and Masters.
'I suppose Freesia, who is on the border of another Empire, isn't that weak.'
Although they both held the banner of the Zodia empire, they were both fighting for their own lands.
Certainly, Freesia and Ares were quite strong, as if battle ensued between Zodia and another Empire, they would be the ones closest to such conflict.
As a result, powerful people were naturally placed in such a kingdom.
He also assumed they were fighting for land as for whatever reason, the land that was split between both kingdoms was smaller than what a grand kingdom such as them deserved.
Nonetheless, if one kingdom exceeded the other, the land of a kingdom, double, close to triple, the size of a normal kingdom would be theirs.
With all due respect, Isaac knew the emperor was up to something with these two kingdoms.
'He gave the two kingdoms, who have enough manpower to be reported as the strongest kingdoms in this entire empire some of the smallest lands available to his empire?'
He only had one word to describe the entire situation, odd.
However, there was something even weirder.
After being inside the camp of the army for a week already, he'd heard of the times before the war between Freesia and Ares.
Beforehand, these two had no qualms with eachother.
They could be said to be friendly neighboring kingdoms.
However, for whatever reason, Ares suddenly declared war with them.
With seemingly no motive, with a complete opposite change, they went to friends to nemesis' in a day.
Not a single soul knew why.
Perhaps, only the emperor or royals of the same house knew.
Maybe, even weirder, only the king of Ares himself knew.
Nonetheless, he also wondered how the two kingdoms, who bordered both empires, didn't attack the Zodia empire.
After all, currently, Zodia was at it's weakest.
Perhaps, after they conquered Zodia, they knew a war between the two would start for the land of the entire continent?
Were they not confident enough to fight against each other?
Each empire was around the same strength, so, what was happening?
For Isaac, it was only problems after problems.
Nonetheless, he arrived at his new residence.
While it couldn't be said to be as great as the noble family's estate that once had him captive, while in war times, it was extravagant.
"Have a great day, sir."
Leaving quickly, the man who took him all the way here excused himself.
Sighing, Isaac though, 'Haah, why can't I just have an easy life?'
However, then Isaac remembered that, indeed, he did have an easy life.
He was talented, powerful enough to protect himself, and most of all, he had a fine residence.
Overall, he had an easy life.
For now, at least.
