Cowering

[A/N: This was supposed to be chapter 25... somehow, I forgot to post. This chapter is the one right before "Demeanor."]

Looking over the various and uncountable screens present, the principal's eyes traveled through each screen, watching every participant intently.

Although one would think he was looking out for each and every one of his students, he himself knew that wasn't the case.

Staring at the golden eyes of a certain participant, he wondered if he was the one, he sought.

Truth be told, if she didn't appear that day and forced him, he would've never wanted to meet such a chaotic being.

Even less, have to nurture that person, and remembering his divinations, his strong persona and attitude shook, thankfully, no one was looking at him.

After all, if they saw him, a prideful body augmenter, with a reputation and strength that rivals the peak of the world, shaking over a few screens...

He internally sighed, unsure of his past.

----

A tall, adult man with great looks sat, intently reading every letter of the book in front of him.

With green eyes and hair, the adult, who was extremely attractive finally snapped out of his trance.

"Yes! I knew it was worth it... With this, I can reach the true pinnacle of this world!" Liam, the green styled adult, didn't hide his excitement.

Hearing the commotion, a maid came in, making sure her lord was fine.

"Lord, is everything alright?" A charming voice reached the inside of Liam's room.

"Hmph, of course. How could harm come upon me?" Liam spoke, arrogance filling every tinge of his voice.

Knowing the demeanor of her lord, Ashley apologized. "Sorry, lord, forgive me for stepping outside of my lowly boundaries."

"Hmph." Merely hearing a snort in response, she quickly left, not wanting to anger one of the Seven Peaks.

Meanwhile, hearing her leave, Liam was once again in a ludicrous state.

"Hmph, I'm truly a genius! I knew going into that secret realm was an excellent idea."

Months prior, news of a secret realm reached the ears of all three empires, consequently, all of the Seven Peaks, which consisted of the four strongest mages and three strongest body augmenters, which were all stated to have reached the pinnacle.

Admiration was nothing but high for these beings.

Secret realms, however, always pose great danger, and once all the Seven Peaks reached the area and felt the immense fluctuations, they were reminded for the second time, that they weren't at the pinnacle of strength yet.

Secret Realms were stated to be planes that manifested thanks to the great strength of their ancestors who looked for a successor.

Some were even stated to just leave their treasures to those of worthy caliber.

In all means, however, they were created by their ancestors, however, Liam didn't think so.

No, he didn't want to believe it. He didn't want to believe that he wasn't as strong as his ancestors.

As always, his pride got in his way, causing him to enter the secret realm.

He believed that perhaps, by the slight chance he wouldn't be able to clear the realm, he'll at least escape via the numerous teleportation gates inside every realm.

Regardless of his dumb actions, he received a scripture, with the title, 'Sublime Divination Arts.'

After fully understanding the divination arts, he went to sleep, as it activated only during deep slumber.

Drugging himself, he didn't resist its effects. Feeling an empowering urge to sleep, he did so, laying down on his bed, extremely tired.

Quickly sleeping, he opened his eyes, expecting to fail. However, he suddenly felt himself traversing through many areas, at an unprecedented speed.

He felt as if he was being dragged, forcefully, he felt the Divination Arts activate, causing him pain beyond belief.

Feeling weak and drained, he felt as if something important, vital even, taken from him.

However, for now, his attention was taken by the grand view he was given upon the activation of his Arts.

Terrified of the scene, however, seeing the man walk ahead, unrestrained by his body who was in the way, he realized.

'So, the spiritual form the scripture talked about is real! Hah, I've hit the jackpot!" Liam thought, completely forgetting about the pain he felt earlier.

However, seeing the same scene again with his spiritual eyes, even though the man couldn't hear or sense him, he stayed completely shut.

In front of him, he saw dozens of mutilated bodies, all seemingly having gone through horrendous fates, with their eyes in complete fear and unwillingness.

Even Liam, as prideful as he was, couldn't keep his composure completely intact.

At the sight of every single person, who had an entire backing of their family, the man continued, with blood spilling the entire earth red.

Staining its luscious green entirely red, the planet he stood on seemed to cry sorrowfully.

As dozens came, dozens fell, as thousands arose to fight, thousands fell in their place.

A magisterial force, the man was, unhindered by the bloodshed he had now caused.

Now, for the first time in his life, Liam cowered under another.

Waking up, he tried to rid his thoughts of that divination.

However, he sensed a presence next to him, and unable to show such vestige, he quickly changed.

"Wooow, you're a quick one, eh?" A voice, so pleasing to the ears, it seemed to soothe the very earth around the speaker.

Not recognizing the speaker, even though it was the most beautiful woman he laid his eyes on, he asked, "Who are you?"

With a charming smile, the woman with red strands in her black hair replied, "Now, you don't need to know that, do you?"

With unimaginable speeds, she touched his forehead, giving him information beyond his beliefs.

Not letting him process the information, she said, her charming smile unbefitting her words. "I gave you the chance to see that divination for a reason, and you, my slave, have a duty."

Completely crushed he said, with an imbedding mark on his head that quickly concealed itself.

"W-what is my duty, master?" Liam, chokingly said, shocked, that a man at his strength was completely restrained, and even... reduced to a slave.

"Start an Academy in Freesia and wait for that person. Wherever, is your choice. However, do not fail, I cannot miss my chance to... Never mind. Just finish your task." The lady, spoke seriously, toning down at the end.

For the second time in his life, Liam cowered.

----

From that point onwards, he followed her words strictly, not wanting to meet her imposing self again.

With the slave mark laid on him, he couldn't think negatively about her, nor could he disobey her commands.

Just the thought of her and the man he saw before, scared him to no end, and with her words of dragging him inside that for a reason, he knew the connection between the two.

Eventually, his Academy grew to the highest of the highest, even in one of the lowest kingdoms, as he was the only one of the Seven Peaks who made an Academy, naturally, his was the most popular.

With most royal kingdoms sending their offsprings there, where they could have a chance to be trained under him, he expectantly waited for his destined one.
