Prowess

The opposing side, the army of the Ares kingdom, witnessing his attack, took a step back themselves.

With a grin that wasn't shown to them, Isaac continued his unrelenting swings.

Each attack of the spear wasn't as strong as the first, however, to say that every swing, a head, chest, perhaps heart was punctured wasn't wrong.

Although he looked carefree, he still kept his guard up at all times.

Regardless if he was dealing with small fries.

He didn't know if a hidden master was within the swarm of ants.

With the stench of blood growing stronger by the second, the horrors of war were shown to the soldiers.

However, not a single soul stopped their rampage, none of them stopped killing.

If they did, they were cut down the next second.

If they stopped, they would die.

Continuing to kill more and more people, even he felt tired.

After hours of killing, the end seemed close.

However, he soon saw a barrage of fiery attacks fly next to him.

Turning around, somewhat wary, he witnessed the devastation left in its wake.

A dozen of Freesian soldiers were dead.

Their faces left unrecognizable.

Looking at the perpetrator of such an attack he felt the aura of an Expert.

Certainly, that attack was worthy of such a bearing, however, before the battle even began, drops of sweat had already accumulated on that man's face.

'Although I would've loved to fight him at his peak, holding back, of course, it doesn't matter.'

For sure, Isaac loved battle. Especially when he felt the cold, motherly hands of death.

However, in a war of this scale, he had no doubt that an Expert wouldn't be a great figure in the scheme of things.

For now, General Kenneth had taken the strings.

Perhaps, however, even the two kings of their present kingdoms would fight.

That would certainly be a spectacle he didn't want to miss.

With a grin, he stopped his thoughts, not intending the Expert-Ranked warrior to leave this battle.

With the aura of pure battle intent surrounding him, he dashed at his opponent, and with his body currently at the 'Novice-Rank' he moved extremely quickly.

However, one had to remember that the [Aether Desolate Arts] wasn't a simple technique.

After all, the key detail was in the name itself.

Aether.

According to the system, it wasn't a simple energy like mana.

With such an energy constantly powering his body, his strength, which should've been Novice, jumped up to Expert.

As such, he was equally matched with the soldier in front of him.

To only see one Expert, he guessed they didn't send more than 15.

Regardless, his sudden speed took the Expert-Rank royal soldier off-guard.

After being surrounded by a few small fries, he was forced to use a spell that took quite a bit of his mana.

Now, he had to deal with augmenter on his same level, at close-range, no less!

'I'm fucked...'

Although his thoughts were bleak, he wasn't going to let his life go so willingly.

If he wanted his head, he must fight for it.

With a spell, intended to stop him, he mumbled, "Flame Cyclone."

Unfortunately, the cyclone was distinguished after a mere swipe of his spear.

'Shit!'

Seeing that the cloaked soldier was getting too close, he summoned a spell he held in high regard.

Knowing that he had to chant to use this spell, he knew it was his last resort.

However, it was something he could count on.

"Spirits of the flame,

assist thee in the journey of the conqueror,

as the flames of war veil the world!"

Instantaneously, a large beam of fire was directed toward the cloaked figure.

Seeing the power of the attack, Isaac who hadn't stopped at all since the start of their fight, stopped.

He had to give props.

This attack was something akin to the Peak of Expert Rank.

He could be said to be talented, however, reaching the Peak of rank was easier in the lower ranks.

Peak Master Rank attacks and Peak Expert Rank attacks were vastly different.

Not only in power, but also in skill.

Nonetheless, with his body refining level, this wasn't something he could shrug off.

After all, it was only in the Novice Rank.

Well, in body refining terms, 'Awakened'.

However, he stood with his knees bent, his body slightly twisted to the right, he channeled all the aura he had in his body, along with that, the same quantity of mana.

For this attack, both quantities of energies had to be the same.

Waiting a couple milliseconds, right before the beam would strike him, his energies blasted into his spear, which almost broke from the rampant energies.

With the great power, he swung his spear faster than the beam could reach him, even though it was only a couple feet away from him.

Inwardly, he shouted, 'ENERGY CONVERGENCE; FIRST FORM: SNAKE'S JAW.

With the convergence color of mana and aura taking on the shape of snake, with its jaw wide open, it sucked the attack, not stopping it in its tracks even slightly.

Once it reached its target, which was the tired human, it bit him.

Feeling the intense feeling of being bit, he grunted for less than a second.

As soon, his entire body was ripped apart by the snake.

With half of his body in the air, the manifestation of the snake dissipated.

Taking a deep breath and exhaling, a bead of sweat trickled down his face.

'Haah, that attack is still quite difficult.'

After practicing for a month straight, naturally, he developed his own technique, developing his own path with the spear.

He didn't want the system to completely make his legacy, nor could it do so forever, after all, it had restrictions, shown by its ability to not give him more techniques after a while.

Nonetheless, he had another reason.

The techniques, abilities, spells, whatever they were, had already been created by someone.

He wanted to forge him own path.

Naturally, he wouldn't reject a useful ability, however, someone could have that same ability.

With his own developed techniques, not only was his body already used it, but no one also else had it, and above all else, he knew what to go from his starting point.

His energy convergence technique had multiple forms, however, the first form he created took too much from his body for him to even think about the second form.
