Contuining to read, Isaac learned a very important fact.
"Only those with affinity towards a certain type of mana, for example, fire, can ONLY attract that type."
Seeing there was nothing else to read, Issac followed the book's earlier instructions, with him sitting in the lotus position.
Although it sounded like complete bullshit, Isaac didn't doubt the validity.
Whether this a good technique for the standard of the world was complete unknown to Isaac, however.
----
Around half a day later,
'How fucking focused do I have to be? Which incompetent bastard created and published this technique?' Isaac grumpily spoke to himself, however, remembering the boredom of his bedridden self, he didn't dare further complain.
When Isaac was about to a small break, he suddenly felt a breakthrough, as if his senses improved, Isaac couldn't tell, but his body and mind notified him.
Not wanting to dilly dally, Isaac continued meditating, reaching a point where even thoughts were nonexistent, only the calm, rhythmic, sounds of him breathing left.
Feeling the same breakthrough occur, Isaac snapped out of his trance.
'Damn... could everyone do that? I don't feel as if my earth self could ever hope to accomplish such a feat...' Isaac told him, his voice, filled with surprise.
Deciding to open his eyes as he couldn't meditate with such shock, Isaac found himself closing his eyes once again. This time to sleep, however.

An anticlimactic week passed for Isaac.
Unlike those super talented characters from novels, it seemed like Isaac wasn't blessed by a secret, powerful deity.
[AN:??]
However, Isaac could now vaguely sense mana,
Mana was an intangible energy, with motes of varying colors everywhere Isaac could 'sense', he couldn't exactly see them yet.
Isaac guessed the varying colors belonged to different elemental affinities.
However, Isaac found himself stuck. He couldn't seem, for the life of him, to attract a single mote of intangible energy towards him body.
For an entire week, Isaac had been trying, to his malfortune, he had no success.
'Haah, being untalented truly isn't for the weak-minded.' Isaac sighed, slightly cursing his lack of talent, he didn't seem to have an affinity towards anything! Even pure, grey, mana that augmenters use, didn't seem to want him!
Depressingly trying again, Isaac 'sensed' a new mote of energy with his mind quickly registering the color,
'A purple-tinged mote of mana?' Isaac mumbled, confused, he had seen many colors over the past week, but never purple, adding to this energy was the fact that only a single mote arrived!
Usually, when one color appeared, it would at least have a partner, or a group it was moving with.
Confused, Isaac tried to pull it into his body.
Suddenly, the purple blob of mana, shook, then shot towards him!
Isaac tried to keep his expression still, before a smile broke out!
Feeling the purple blob within him, Isaac smirked.
'Hmph, I only need to have one affinity to dominate this world!' Isaac jokingly thought, something was telling him,
Whether or not he'll dominate this world in the near future, it won't come without great sacrifices.
However, suddenly, Isaac narrowed his eyes, sensing a multitude of purple-tinged motes surrounding him and his room.
For whatever reason, these motes now started darting towards him.
Isaac didn't know why, but he won't sacrifice this chance to grow stronger.
Another thing Isaac was clueless about was the fact that these motes were very... very rare.
To the point that the hundreds of small motes around him, were the byproduct of this entire city.
In other words, Isaac was absorbing an entire city's worth of purple blobs!
----
"Haah, that was difficult... But! I can finally form my first ring; I can finally become a mage!" With childlike excitement, Isaac smilingly said.
Before that, however, all the motes started moving, they seemed to be sucked, in rapid fashion, towards his... head?
[Absorbing low-quality purple light affinity motes of Mana.] A robotic voice startled Isaac.

Isaac's golden finger finally arrived.
