Like Looking Into A Mirror

I'm tired, but not that tired. So why am I seeing myself?

I was on a building spree, which might have lasted two days without much rest, but this was too much.

When I decided to take a break and use that excellent bed I made, I ran into myself.

If it sounds confusing, that's because it is. I was this skinny, tomboyish girl in my earlier life in another world, named Leona.

Then I saw this beautiful girl with jet-black hair and the most perfect body that could exist.

It blew my mind so hard, I became a lesbian. Or God knows what.

But this resulted in repeated accidents that almost killed me.

It started with running into a lamppost, getting run over by a semi-truck, or squashed by a piano.

Ah, yes, there was that knife that I almost headbutted in the university cafeteria.

And to put the crown on everything, I fell down the stairs when I met with that girl again.

The funny thing is that I didn't die, no.

I reached the heavens without that, because, as it turns out, that girl was a literal Goddess.

And she saved my life — using questionable methods.

I came to my senses in another world and in that stunning, sexy, and perfect body of hers.

She evaporated mine, lending me her own, and while it wasn't the same as I saw in my world, it was still amazing.

She was a literal cat girl, a feline Beastfolk, with fluffy cat ears, tails, and everything.

And not only that, the world worshipped, or hated her, depending on who you ask.

It wasn't easy to live in her skin, there were many people I had to please or try to fool, but I got used to it in the last two weeks.

And now, out of nowhere, my old body appeared ahead of me.

This makes no sense.

[Reminder: The Goddess of Luck promised you to remake your old body, remember?]

Sure, there was that weird golem she turned the Sentient Mask into, but that didn't look like this.

This is me. It's almost like looking into a mirror, except I'd never wear clothes like this.

It doesn't even look bad on me from the outside. And I made those clothes yesterday during a short break. I didn't take too many of those. There was a lot to do, and I couldn't stop.

I started by building a luxurious little brick tower and moved the bed and that golem into it.

Next was to replace all those shabby shacks the Orcs built with neat little wooden huts.

The Orcs were busy working too, I told them to build roads and prepare some defenses.

The palisade walls were all my doing though.

Everything I thought up materialized without delay, using the items from my inventory.

It was stupid how efficient it was, and it cost me nothing. The Masterful Crafting skill was crazy.

Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.

Wait. What if it was crazy?

Like it made me lose my mind crazy?

That would explain why I see myself, standing in the room I built and furnished for the Goddess.

[Notice: Or you could finally calm down and realize, it is the Goddess, who returned ahead of schedule.]

Haha. She? Ahead of schedule? Impossible.

Last time she promised five days, and returned after six.

And only because there was an emergency with my sister she needed me to sort out.

Oh my God, what kind of emergency she might have caused now?!

"Ah, Leona." She talked. No, I spoke to her. From my body to her body, which I was in.

No. This is too confusing. And nobody called me by that name in a long time.

Even though I knew little about her, I had to roleplay as Alexandra.

I did my best to invade her memories and explore some of her past, but she lived much longer than her looks hinted.

"Um, hello, me." This was my best answer, and I looked confused.

I mean my body, that was not me.

"Those pictures were excellent." The she-me said. Crap, I almost forgot about those pictures.

My nudes that I sent to Alexandra's phone after stealing them from my computer.

I had to break into my apartment from the outside, using Alex's body in my world.

It was a messy business. So she is her, for real. And she got the images and rebuilt my body.

"I told you it doesn't have to be this accurate. I cringe from looking at it." And there is a chill running down my spine too. It's a surreal sight.

"It's not finished, and we can adjust it later." The voice is still Alexandra's.

It sounded like she couldn't reconstruct that from the photos, but I got so used to her sound by now, that I didn't care.

"But wow, is this the same camp I left you yesterday?"

"Yesterday? It was a week ago already." Talking to myself with her voice freaks me out.

[Notice: You could mention how helpful the System was. Praising her work might please her, you know.]

Oh, shut up, I'm still trying to make sense of this situation. Self-promote later.

"Right, the time dilation." My face looks like I'm pondering, though I doubt I ever looked that cute doing so. "I sent the email and got out of your apartment. You could return right away."

"Wait, for real?" This is what I wanted. Right?

It's still so unexpected. I spent two weeks in this strange new magical world, and it began to feel like home.

But then I missed my real home and family too. And then again, I had Mabel here and the Orcs to look after. I could see my confusion and was pondering again.

"You don't want to go?" The me-copy asked with a smile.

It looked much better on Alexandra's face, but she could make it look nice on mine.

"I don't know." Shaking my head was all I could do.
