So that's it? Did I die?
It wouldn't be surprising with my stereotypical tomboy klutziness.
First a lamppost, then Truck-kun, even a fucking piano like in a cartoon.
And what was that knife thing? That's some Final Destination bullshit.
And then bam, fall off the stairs like an idiot, all this rather than calling out to her.
No, there was no bam.
The last thing I remember is looking at those impossible eyes.
Her angelic face turned worried, then it felt like floating, and all white.
Even if I never cared about sex, dying a virgin sucks, right after seeing a Girl like her.
But am I dead? It doesn't feel like it. It doesn't feel like anything, and my eyes hurt.
A calm, white noise says something exists around me so I could also exist.
Hurting or not, it's time to open those eyes, and it's easy to spot what causes that noise.
It's a crystal clear and fast river, and as my palms submerge in it, it feels cold.
Is this the Styx? No, it's too small for that, and not ominous enough.
This isn't the underworld, and there's no sign of the Grim Reaper either.
There is no fog, it's a calm and wholesome place, a quiet forest with tall pine trees and birds chirping.
Something smells nice too, but I can't pinpoint it.
It's earthy and warm, while also light. Is this cinnamon? It almost feels like it's coming from me.
"Damn, girl, what's wrong with you?"
Shit, that almost gave me a heart attack. I spin around to see a weird floating thing.
It's like a block of granite, crude but cute, a crossbreed of a golem and a fairy, with a chibi anime design. Except it's real, or at least looks like it.
Despite ignoring gravity, it looks like it has weight, depth, and scratches on the surface.

"What the hell? You're so cute!" Wait a second, this is not my voice.
It's the same sound as the floating pebble used.
"Pfft, saying this now." She shakes her head.
I say her because the voice is feminine, and head, but it's more like her entire body. The whole thing is smaller than my palm. Well, this is only a guess. The head I have now is still spinning.
Do I even have a head? And what does she mean 'now'?
Instead of asking, I turn to the river and spot her again.
Alexandra, she's still there! Badump, badump. As angelic as ever, even with the waves distorting her beauty a bit.
So what is this place? Why do I see her still?
"Hello, Ground Control to Kamikaze Girl." She bumps me and almost dislocates my shoulder.
"Owch, what?!" I turn again trying to figure out if she meant me by Kamikaze.
"If I saved you, at least tell me your name." She demands, but even her stern look is cute.
Is it even a look?
She seldom has any features. I can see some indentations that could be her eyes and mouth, but it's nothing more than a floating granite block.
"You saved me?" It doesn't sound impossible, although it's the first I saw this thing.
"Ugh. And I was sure you didn't hit your head..."
She floats around, and I can somehow see her emotions. It's not on the granite face, more like they appear inside my mind.
And her face looks like hers too. Did I fall in love so hard that I see Alexandra everywhere?
"Wait, you mean, I died for real?" The puzzle pieces take their sweet time to show the full picture, I should be much faster than this.
"No, silly, you're alive, because I saved you." She rolls her eyes, indentations, or whatever, circling over my head. "Although I had to take some drastic measures for the fifth time."
"Sorry." Why am I apologising? "Okay, so let's start fresh. I'm Leona, and who are you?"
This is the best I can do being antisocial, but the pebble seems satisfied with the result.
"I'm Alexandra, but some call me the Thirteenth Bride or the Harem Queen. I much prefer The Goddess of Luck though. Or you can call me Alex."
She gives quite a few options. Thirteenth Bride and Harem? What the heck? Is this the same Alexandra that makes my heart beat so fast?
I have so many questions, but they're stuck in my throat.
"So uhm, thanks for, uh, whatever happened. I'm a bit out of it so if you could explain." Again, this is my best effort to talk.
"What do you mean? You followed me around all morning, busy trying to kill yourself." The pebble claims and for some reason it makes me blush. "It's a weird way to get my attention."
"I have no recollection of anything like that." Why does this feel like a lie? "This is the first time I saw a floating stone, believe me, I'd remember chasing you around."
"Floa... What?" Could it be that Chibi Granite Block doesn't know what she is? She spins in the air and floats over the river, and a high-pitched noise follows. "Oh, crap, I didn't think of this."
"Are you all right?"
Rather than answering, she shoots into the sky, dives, and speeds above the surface.
She is lightning fast, causing large waves, and looks like she's throwing a tantrum.
It's over in a few seconds, although she must have flown a few miles, before she returns, still shaking.
"You're in my body." She sounds tired and depressed. "This was my caretaker golem."
"Um, okay?" How do I explain to her that she needs to explain it better?
"Look for your reflection, and you'll understand." She slumps to the ground.
Did she read my mind? Whatever, what am I supposed to see?
Leaning over the river, once the waves calm down, I can see Alexandra's gorgeous face again.
She's so pretty! She no longer has the same confidence as earlier, her face looks curious.
The same as I am. And it feels like she copies my every movement too.
