[Notice: When fighting with Emergency Powers, you should enable the Auto Battle function.]
I know what I said, no trusting this stupid, abusive, and tyrannic System.
Not in regular circumstances. But the way she powered me up to deal with the old hag, it's obvious that our interests align.
The First Bride still has her dirty hands on the child.
Her face displays an evil grin of cartoonish proportions. She won't get away with threatening Mabel.
"Bring it on."
[Notice: Auto Battle enabled.]
My body moves on its own.
No. Rather, it became Alexandra's body again, reducing me to a silent observer from the inside.
Things happen so fast, that I can't even comprehend half of them.
First, I jump towards the old woman, but rather than punching her in the face like I so desire, I touch Mabel's forehead.
Considering the momentum and the speed, it's the most gentle graze.
Everything blurs around us as we teleport.
How? I don't know any spells, I can't use magic and since Alexandra said I shouldn't, I didn't even think about it until now.
But the body knows, and the System has no such reservations.
We don't get far, only back to the lake, where I let go of the Orc girl.
From there, rather than calling it a day, the Auto Battle takes me right back.
Not even a second passes, and I arrive fist raised and punching straight into the witch's face.
It doesn't connect, despite her age and feeble look, she's almost as fast as I am.
There is no stopping though.
A knife appears in my hand, and I recognize the same tool Mabel used for cooking.
When did I take it from her? During the jump?
My brain can't keep up with the body's movements. I can feel the wind and even process the smells and the pain is mine, but things happen without any input.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Did Alex program her fighting style in the System to aid her players during emergencies?
What was she planning? Every movement is fast, calculated, and graceful, but first of all, deadly.
There is no hesitation, I can't stop her even if I wanted to.
The knife lunges forward, and I don't have time to think about becoming a murderer in someone else's body.
Something strange happens instead.
The blade reaches the feeble old woman, throwing sparks, and as hard as it is to believe, her skin turns into metal.
Her creepy old smile only widens, meaning that the locals of this world are crazy. We aren't the only ones fighting either.
I notice the battle beginning in the sky from the corner of my eyes. It doesn't matter where I look. I'm no longer in control so I can enjoy the show.
The first clash between wyverns and gargoyles is brutal. The flying statues seem smaller but must be much heavier, and it shows.
They knock the majestic beasts out of the sky while taking no damage themselves. Those monsters have riders though.
At least one must be a wizard, creating a blue bubble, like a force shield. Their attacker bounces back from it, and a lightning bolt follows. It zaps three gargoyles at once, looking spectacular but causing little damage.
The wing of one stone creature shatters. Still, half of the wyverns fall after their first mettle, while only one gargoyle goes down.
It's easy to figure out which side to cheer for. Whoever those dragon riders are, they fight this old hag, and the enemies of my enemy are my friends.
If I'm mistaken, let's hope the Auto Battle will take care of them too. So far, the body feels like it could handle anything.
Nobody should be able to move at such speeds or throw punches and kicks that could shatter a boulder. No wonder Charlotte suspected that something was off with me.
If someone could do all these things, they would have every reason to act arrogant and mighty. This isn't something a human or any other mortal can pull off.
Calling Alexandra a Goddess was more than for show and formalities. She earned it. And who would act all shy and humble after they reached such heights?
Watching for less than a minute what she can do, the biggest surprise is that the old hag can keep up. Is this a Harem thing? Are all the Brides this crazy powerful?
The System mentioned something, but she's too busy fighting, so I can't ask questions. She ensures that the body doesn't get hit. She remains lightning-fast and flexible, avoiding every punch she can.
Compared to her, the enemy's method is to turn her skin tough and heavy. She can't match our speed, but no matter how impossible it seems she's even more powerful.
And that's when they start hurling magic at each other. First, only a few lightning that the metallic skin attracts like a magnet, then a huge wall of flames from her palms.
The First Bride uses a gravity spell. I can tell, as the Beastfolk's body feels ten times heavier than usual, but it's still unstoppable. Once the speed advantage diminishes the distance grows, and the melee turns into a magic duel.
So does the battle in the sky. Whoever led those guys up there, realized that headbutting with the gargoyles is a bad idea. The organic beasts are faster.
The remaining few manage their distance better. The flying statues behave like heatseeker meteors, but can't catch up. The magician blasts them with various spells, and the sky looks like the Fourth of July.
Those who fell won't move again, but their riders are alive, and approach us with weapons at the ready. The System takes note of them, ensuring that the old hag is always between us and them.
They aren't human, does that mean they're allies? I can't recognize their species, but some look like they're rotting on foot. Are they zombies? As long as they want this old hag dead, I don't care even if it's the devil himself.
