"You are Emi." Alexandra blurted it out, the tone stuck between a statement and a query.
She carved every feature of the red-headed girl's face into her brain as her green eyes widened.
Counting all her freckles on the pointy nose and measuring the tone of the eyebags was an overkill. But it was nothing for her senses if she put her mind to it.
If she had access to her usual magic, she could even do something akin to a full 3D scan on the poor unsuspecting girl.
She didn't take it that far though. Not because she didn't want to. She lacked the power in this world.
The university crowd didn't stop around them and she still had her notes scattered. She didn't want to miss her chances though.
The ginger only hesitated for a second.
"Do I know you?" She raised one of her thin eyebrows, looking at her with suspicion.
Something wasn't right. She remembered a very different vibe from her sister. And what was this veiled hostility?
Alexandra was a Goddess, both in the looks department and thanks to her magical power.
While the latter didn't matter in this place, she noticed all those hungry glances the humans took at her. And it wasn't limited to the males.
Take Leona for example, she would run headfirst into danger only to take a better look. Whatever her reason was to do so, she spared no effort to chase after Alexandra.
So what was the deal with her sister? She didn't share the same aura as her older sibling. She wasn't capable of using magic. She couldn't see through her homunculus form either. So why?
"Uh, I'm Leona's classmate." Alex tried to explain herself, but it backfired.
"Wow, you're in the same group as my roommate? How're you doing?" The guy stepping closer was somehow familiar.
Alexandra noticed him while looking for Emi, but couldn't figure him out yet. The mention of the word roommate put things into perspective.
She saw him early in the morning when Leona was busy trying to kill herself. This guy pulled her back twice before separating on the campus.
Roommate? A boy and a girl? Are they dating? That can't be right, she got a peek into the girl's memories after the transfer, and she had none about this guy.
No wonder, he was plain, unassuming, dressed like a tryhard rapper, and was way too loud. She still had to gather her stuff after Emi bumped into her, and her thoughts were swirling in a mess too.
If Emi isn't a viable option, it seemed easy to get close to this guy, and if he had anything about Leona, she could use that.
It was a tough pill to swallow. Still, once she had organized her notes, she smiled at the roommate and introduced herself.
"Hey, I'm Alexandra. Call me Alex." She offered her hand to Emi first, who was still suspicious of her.
The guy had no such issues, jumping at the opportunity to shake her hand. She could tell he already attempted to undress her with his eyes.
"I'm Frank. You can call me whatever you want, haha." He offered. This poor guy dressed like this, with a name like Frank? "And are you her sister?"

"What the heck? How does everyone know me today?" Emi didn't take either of their hands, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
She looked different from Leona. A lot different. She couldn't remember her looks, that was the main issue, but she could tell.
Petite, younger, yet already curvier, and she had this mischievous and judgemental look. It was the exact opposite of what little she remembered about Leona.
"I saw your picture on her phone in the morning. You were the cutie cheering her on her first day." Frank explained himself in the strangest way possible.
He shouldn't have said all that, Emi already furrowed her eyebrows. Still, if the option was there, Alex jumped on the bandwagon too.
"Yeah, she showed me that one in recess as well. And told me you planned to meet up after school." Oh, right, how will she explain why Leona isn't here?
She can't teleport home, make a body, and send her back fast enough. Her last attempt at making a mud doll failed, and she still couldn't figure out why.
"That would be the first time she socialized in a while. And on the first day of school? I don't buy it." Emi shook her head, the messy bun coming undone.
Wow, she didn't hide her hostility and suspicion. What was her deal?
"What? She didn't tell you I'm her roommate?" Frank protested, and he at least had a point. Alex was hard at work to come up with something.
"Well, I knew she had a roommate from her class in high school." The ginger nodded, glancing at the cat-ear headband. "But she's not the type to show my pictures around."
"Oh, I peeked over her shoulder in the morning when she opened your message." As Frank added fast, the Goddess realized that this guy must have hated his chances.
After a creepy answer like this, Emi attempted to back away from this conversation. Alex couldn't blame her.
"That's great, um, Frank. I was looking for her, so I will ask her once we meet." The girl announced, and she was on her way already.
"Ah, wait, she's not coming." Alexandra panicked, blurting it out. "Uh, she um, had to stay longer to consult with a professor."
How could she convince her to show a photo of Leona after she treated them like some weirdos? And how can she get rid of Frank now that it was clear, he was useless?
Not only that, but he freaked out Emi, ruining her chances too.
"Oh, okay, can you tell me where she is then?" Emi asked, and Alexandra's eyes lit up.
"S-sure, she asked me to take you to her anyway." She needed to figure out something on the way. Stuff, like 'Oh, we must have bypassed each other'.
Then use her charms to strike a conversation, and steer it towards pictures. Why did it sound so predatory in her mind?
"I'll come too, we only have one set of keys, and she took it this morning." The guy yells, ruining the plan right away. Did she evaporate the keys with the rest of the body?!
