Training Camp [3]

Training Camp [3]

(Violet Storm POV)

"Growl"

As we were accessing the damage dealt to the bear, it suddenly got up. The bear wounds were visibly healing.

"It's not unconscious?"

After the barrage of attacks, it seemed our attacks did nothing but piss off the bear even more.

Even though the bear used a lot of mana to heal its wounds, if this kept up, we would be the ones who would run out of mana first. Animals generally had more mana than the corresponding human mage of the identical rank.

We needed time to think of a plan. However, the bear wasn't going to let us. It got up launching the surrounding debris everywhere while charging at us at full speed.

There was no time to think. From my pouch, I grabbed a sniper bullet. I used magnetism to hold the bullet between my thumb and index finger.

I built up an electric charge within my hands before firing it. The bullet launched out of my fingers at hyper-sonic speeds.

This technique was called {Railgun}. I was practising recently and have yet to master it. Aiming was still extremely hard, so I had to lower the power to gain control.

*Ting*

The bear deflected the incoming bullet with its paws. For it to do that meant the attack posed danger to it.

"Guys, rush the bear."

James trusting me immediately appeared in front of the bear. Brawling with a bear that size was a bad idea, but I had confidence that my boyfriend could hold him off.

Seeing James' courage, Lisa also jumped into the fray to help distract the bear. While they were doing that, I circled around the bear and readied another bullet.

I aimed his hind legs.

*BANG*

"ROAAR!"

The bear roared as the bullet his leg. The electricity remaining in the bullet also paralyzed the bear for a split second.

Using this split second, James punched the bear as hard as he could in the underbelly. It was sent flying into the trees behind us, as the flames slowly flickered in and out of existence.

Simone used her solid attribute to trap the bear in the ground. Rio created {Water Chains} and Aaron froze the chains.

As the bear attempting was trying to escape, Christopher hit the bear in his underbelly with his palm. The attack created ripples across its body and the bear coughed out blood.

Lisa rushed forward with her weapons in hand.

In its weakened state, the bear couldn't stop the two katanas from digging into the bear aiming for its vitals.

Soon the bear was killed by Lisa as she pulled out her two bloody blades. I thought I saw a faint smile on her face as she killed the bear.

Rio released his ability as the water chains disappeared into nothingness.

We stood there for two minutes, catching our breaths. I place my hand on my chest trying to calm my beating heart. It was over.

During this entire fight, I was running on pure adrenaline. I think we all were. This was the encounter that truly could've ended our lives. Though we could've fought more efficiently.

This flame bear was also weaker than the average one. It was slower than average and an average one would've had stronger defences. If I had to rate it, it would probably be a low C rank.

"This bear should be enough to feed the entire class. I'll carry it back."

James was the first to recover as he offered to take it back. I nodded as he was the strongest physically out of all of us. He also had the gravity attribute which meant he could reduce the weight of the bear to zero.

We walked back to camp exhausted with James pulling the floating bear. Though I still had a lot of mana to spare, my mind couldn't handle another fight.

'How do Julius and Amina deal with this feeling? Do they just become numb to it over time?'

I knew Amina and Julius were hiding a lot of secrets. I didn't question them as it wasn't in my right to.

Julius was much different compared to his previous life. Though his personality hasn't changed, he just acts differently than before. I didn't want to imagine what he went through in this life.

He implied that his parents in this world died, so he must have gone through something traumatic. They both also seemed to have killed other humans before which kind of scares me.

Murder in our previous lives was one the worst crimes one could commit back on Earth, yet they already did so in this world before the age of 16.

Despite my fears, my heart reassured me that this was the same friend I knew in my previous life.

We arrived back at camp with the flame bear behind us. The others looked at the bear in surprise, amazed at its size.

"How the hell are we going to cook a flame bear? It's very resistant to heat."

A classmate questioned us. Just before I was going to answer, Amina got to before me.

"It's only the hide that's resistant. Remove the outer layer and the flesh inside can be cooked normally. I've heard the meat is quite tasty.

Lisa cut down the outer layer as we decided to roast the bear on the spit. The bear was bigger than expected, so the campfire had to be expanded.

It took until nighttime until the bear was fully cooked and we could enjoy the meal. Half our class was drooling as the smell of the bear enticed them. Despite only salt to flavour the food, it was unexpectedly very delicious.

Despite our massive appetites, we only managed to eat half the bear and covered the other half so we could eat it tomorrow.

We slept with our bellies full as we awaited tomorrow's challenges.

*CRACK!*

I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of thunder and heavy rain. The lightning wakened up everyone as we saw a massive storm hit us.
