Revenge [2]

Leaning out the window I could see Vas Gyan appear in view. Neon lights lit up the night sky. There were people everywhere. It was like it wasn't almost midnight.

After hopping off the train, I walked through the city. I wore a cloak that hid my face. I was too young to be out this late and it was suspicious.

Since I was taller than the average 14-year-old and they couldn't see my face, they assumed was just a shorter person.

After walking for a bit I arrived at a massive casino. Drunk people were outside laughing I could see angry men shouting after gambling away all their money.

This Nightlight Casino is one of the many casinos in Vas Gyan. Though this may seem like an ordinary casino at first glance, it was the front for the SUITE base in Vas Gyan.

I walked to the entrance of the casino. Normally I would be turned away immediately because of my age, but I showed my ID to a SUITE agent disguised as a bouncer. He nodded and led me inside.

The other bouncers were confused for a moment but ignored it. They weren't SUITE agents, so they didn't understand.

I went inside the casino and was led down a flight of stairs. Here, SUITE agents were running around, similar to headquarters.

There was a major base here because Vas Gyan has always been a hub of crime.

"Has the target been located?"

I talked to one of the analysts at this base. SUITE is split into multiple categories but these two categories are the most common, field agents and management agents. The rank structure works like this:

Management Agents

Director of SUITE - Umbra Moria, the head and leader of SUITE

Deputy Director of SUITE - Brian Rend, Umbra Moria's second in command

Head of Divisions - Heads of different divisions within SUITE

Chief of Staff - Heads of different SUITE bases

Assistant officers - Officers who work in these bases. They are mostly composed of analysts who compile information on the targets.

Field Agents

Special Agent in Charge (SACs) - The highest rank for a field agent. On missions with multiple agents, they usually lead the team and are usually the strongest and have the most experience. Veronica is currently a SAC.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Senior Special Agent - An experienced agent who is given harder missions and also helps with the training of trainees.

Special Agent - A regular agent who works for SUITE (is what am currently)

Trainees - Recruits picked up by SUITE

The other divisions have their rank structure but they don't apply to me. I haven't met any division heads and the only reason someone of my rank could speak to the director is that he has taken a special interest in me.

Brian Rend was a friend of Umbra Moria who had a talent for management. Moria scouted a while back and he does most of the administration of SUITE. I have only met him once or twice though.

"Ramirez has been frequenting different public places."

This world has security cameras, but they only show images in black and white, so the video can be very blurry.

The analyst pulled up footage of Ramirez meeting his sellers. He rarely went to the same place twice but they all were public places.

"Have you found his hideout?"

"No, Special Agent Argenti."

"Don't be so formal. Just call me Julius."

"Uh... ok Mr Argenti."

"That's fine. Assassinating Ramirez in these public places is too difficult. The government won't like cleaning after us. It's also not like we can arrest him either."

"We have tailed him a couple of times but he has either shaken us off or led us to different bases."

"Hmm, I guess I am going in blind."

"What do you mean?"

"I am confident I can tail him once, but he will get suspicious if notices the same mana signature following him. I don't want to alert him and scare him off."

"But we don't have an accurate description of his forces."

"I suspect he is the strongest on there. Based on his personality he won't allow anyone close to him to be of a similar rank. He doesn't want his position to be usurped. Just give me a report of everything you know."

"Ok, Mr Argenti."

I was given a couple of files. I was given a room and started reading the information he gave me. There were some familiar faces such as Alfred.

However, when I saw the picture of Carl Ramirez, I unconsciously leaked out mana. My golden eyes reflected my burning hatred for him.

'Shit, I have to calm down.'

I took a deep breath and relaxed myself. I couldn't lose myself in anger or else I would die. It seems after receiving the 350 million Sonas from Vision, he slowly built up a drug empire.

He stopped banditry and his alias Narco became known in Vas Gyan and nearby cities. It was extremely impressive for someone who was only C rank.

After reading the files, I realized it was 6:00 am and I was awake all night.

After sleeping for a good 12 hours I got up and planned my next move. I had two options.

The first was to collect information from gangs. However, unlike other cities, the gangs here were well-established and had a tight network. If I carelessly intrude on somebodies territory, I could easily be lynched because some gangs had C ranks and maybe even a B rank among them.

The best way to collect information was to slowly infiltrate a gang and collect information on Ramirez that way. This was an operation that could take several months.

The second way was to brute force it and tail Ramirez directly to his base and kill him then.

Though my rational side was telling me to go for the former, my emotions were leaning toward the latter. I still had bottled up my anger for years. I didn't know when I would explode, especially since my target was so close by.

"Fuck it, let's brute force this. If I die... well who cares. I'll be dead anyone."

Contrary to my better judgment, I decided to carry out this mission blind.
