The opponent we were fighting now was not the same one we fighting a few minutes ago. Though his abilities didn't change, his fighting style, sword skill and mana control were on a different level.

Along with that, every second he seemed to become even stronger. It wasn't noticeable at first, but the difference between Diablo and Demon King currently was noticeable.

However, this power didn't come at a cost. Along with the improvement in mana capacity, combat skill and more came a drastic downside. His body seemed to be weakening as each attack was straining it. The body was barely being held together.

But at this rate, we would die before his body broke apart. The poison was rapidly destroying our bodies and Mitchell couldn't create the antidotes fast enough.

We all exceeded our maximum in a bid to keep up with his speed and power. Yet it was hopeless. He was practically running circles around us as he skillfully manoeuvred around our attacks.

Lyra used every weapon in her arsenal to see which could disrupt his rhythm. Her piercing arrows were easily blocked by his sword, the mana-disrupting sword wasn't effective on him and he easily avoided all of her weapons telekinetically attacking him.

Thomas' highly corrosive acid was barely affecting him as he treated it as normal water. His attempts of trapping him or even disturbing his movements were ineffective.

The worst part of this was that he simultaneously doing this while fending my and Matthew's attacks. It was humiliating, yet this was the situation.

In a moment of weakness, my vision faltered and I whiffed my next attack. The Demon King took advantage to get past me and arrived at Mitchell.

With Mitchell being engrossed in creating an antidote, he barely noticed the Demon King. He attempted to dodge, but he wasn't fast enough.

His neck was sliced by his weapon. He collapsed onto the ground. Though his head was still attached to his body, {Full Body Regeneration} wouldn't be able to heal that.

I confirmed his death seconds later when I detected that his body stopped producing mana.

"NOOOOOO!"

A multitude of emotions rushed through my head. I was furious, every cell of my being filled with absolute hatred. But more than that, I felt intense sadness assaulting my body. I even entertained giving up.

'No! What I am doing. Tears can come later, I just need to focus on the opponent.'

Though my emotions were in turmoil, I still stood my ground. I could cry later. I wasn't allowed to despair. I was the Hero and I must a guiding beacon for all of humanity.

My comrades weren't taking his death well either but were suppressing emotion so they could concentrate on the fight. We were all standing.

But just standing strong wouldn't defeat my opponent. I needed a strategy to defeat him. I racked my brain as hundreds of plans were run through my head searching for a path to victory.

But each of these plans had one conclusion. A gruesome death by the Demon King. I glanced at my comrades and noticed that nobody had come up with anything.

Even still we were going to fight. Till every drop of blood was extracted from my body. We weren't going to roll over and die.

"LI TAMT VOS TRIDIYANT!"

Laser beams were launched out of my sword. Predicting the direction of the attacks, the Demon King avoided them smoothly.

Thomas created what seemed like an ocean of water and created thousands of water piranhas. These piranhas were all directed to the Demon King.

However, not a single drop of water landed on his skin as he destroyed the water creation before they even got close to him.

Neither Matthew nor Lyra's attacks did anything to him either.

Within half an hour, we were at our wit's end. None of our attacks were damaging him and we were exhausted.

Though we still had some mana remaining, the signals our brains were sending were weakening. The neurotoxins were finally affecting our nervous system it would be a matter of time before we died.

Suddenly Thomas summoned multiple water chains. Surprised the Demon King attempted to dodge the technique. However, the chains were too fast and bound him to the ground.

This technique was {Styx's Chains}. It was one of Thomas' most powerful techniques. I didn't think he could even move his body, let alone perform such as powerful technique.

However, the strength gap was too strong and the chains were slowly breaking. Both Matthew and Lyra rapidly consumed mana to prevent him from escaping.

Matthew shocked him, while Lyra attacked simultaneously with all her weapons.

During this, I also felt my strength rapidly returning to me. I turned around to see the person who was the cause of this.

"MITCHELL?! How are you even alive?"

"Don't worry about that. I used {Godly Recovery}. Kill him before he escapes."

He's right. The questions could be asked later. Now I had to kill him before he escapes.

{Godly Recovery} was an extremely powerful healing technique. The user of the technique could heal the target from the verge of death to peak condition within a second.

However, the technique needed a copious amount of mana to perform while the target took a large burden as well. The healed wouldn't be able to use mana for the next week after the technique was performed. But currently, the side effects didn't matter.

I used {Light Transmution} to arrive in front of him and kicked him with the momentum of my lightspeed movement. That kick sent him flying towards the oceans at the eastmost side of the continent.

I chased after him, enhancing my body far beyond my maximum. I could feel all the mana I just gained rapidly depleting. I was moving faster than I had ever moved before.

As my speed was increasing, I felt like I was approaching a barrier. It was trying to block me from going any faster.

The more mana I used to bypass it, the harder the barrier seemed to resist. But I wasn't going to let the laws of physics stop me. After another burst of mana, the barrier shattered.

As soon as it broke, I felt the space around me twist. It was like I had exited reality, yet I could see the world around me.

'Am I in another dimension? It is because I moved faster than light... no what I am thinking. These questions can be asked later. I'll just kill the Demon King now.'

This world still had colour, yet under a veil of darkness. I didn't even understand what was happening here. As I was moving through this dimension, I was still moving a corresponding distance in reality, yet the world treated me as if I didn't exist.

I had many questions, but I focused on the task at hand. I soon caught up to the flying body of the Demon King.

I thought he wouldn't be able to see me while I was in this dimension, but he noticed me. The Demon King stared, his face morphing into astonishment.

I exited from dimension and entered back into reality. I used the last of my mana to prepare the strongest attack that I had ever made.

I pulled my beloved sword Hyperion back, building up mana at the tip ready to finish him off.

"{Light of Themis}!"

As the sword pierced into him, an image of scales appeared behind me. The immense power of the attack tore through his weakened body.

*BOOOOOM!*

A powerful sound was heard a split second later. The light destroyed everything in its path, nothing is spared from the attack. The Demon King's body was vaporised. His mana was erased from this world as I watched his body disintegrate.

All that was left was the sword which was red hot from the heat. Nothing else remained. The surrounding area turned into lava resembling a volcano. From here to the horizon I only saw molten rock.

After that attack, I collapsed onto the ground, exhausted. My body was aching and I had many conflicting emotions running through my mind. I wanted to rest.

A lesser person would have fainted right there, but I forced myself to stay conscious. Though the Demon King was defeated, the war wouldn't conclude until the enemy S ranks were eliminated.
