(Violet Storm POV)
I look down at everyone after saying those words. I could see them staring at me with hope in their eyes. If this were an anime, I would probably see their eyes sparkle.
From an outside perspective, people would mistake this as a sleepover. We were all in our pyjamas. I was only wearing a 3/4ths dress. We looked anything but ready for combat.
They looked at me as if I was their saviour. They were all scared and didn't know what to do. I could feel my hands shaking as they were drenched with sweat. I quickly put my hands out of sight.
I couldn't show any signs of fear. But I was honestly terrified.
What if I had to kill someone?
What if I fail?
These questions were running through my head at a million miles an hour. I could feel my head spinning. My breathing was becoming erratic.
'No! Violet what are you doing? Just take deep breaths and you'll be fine. This is not your first time talking in front of a crowd.'
In my previous life, I was in the debating club and often had to speak publicly. I even won some competitions. I just had to use those skills now.
I saw James in the crowd smiling and giving me a thumbs up. That gave me some courage to continue.
I had to do my best. I was the granddaughter of the Hero after all. I inhaled some air before explaining the plan.
The plan was quite simple. It didn't have many moving parts but it served our purpose. Our goal here wasn't to defeat the enemies but to stall for time.
Everyone would be on walls, above the ground where we would hide. The dining hall was nearly 10m tall so nobody could see us until they entered the hall.
When the enemies come, we could collapse onto them in an ambush. The enemies had only three ways they could enter the dining hall. The first two would be from the formerly stairs that now were just holes and the front entrance.
There was another option which involved them breaking in from the ceiling, but that was discarded for being too unlikely. They were also two other entrances, we sealed them off.
This positioning also allowed us to react if they used poison gas in their attack.
Since the hall was massive, we could easily fit along the wall with gaps between us. Some of us were on the ceiling, standing on the fly system above the stage.
Those who specialised in long-range attacks were on the chandeliers staring at the three entrances led by Amina Moria.
There was a girl in class 2A named Ashley Nielsen who had the telepathic attribute. She would be used so we communicate with everyone mid-battle.

She wasn't capable of communicating with all 240 of us simultaneously so she would only communicate with the team leaders who would relay the instructions to everyone else.
When she wasn't giving out instructions, she would have a constant line of communication between me and Jules.
He would provide us with information as he could sense all the enemies at all times. Even though he was the one who created the plan, I was the leader of this operation.
'The enemies have entered the building. Most of them are on the top floor. There are around 20 of them at the front entrance. They don't seem to be doing yet.'
I heard Jules' voice speaking to me in my mind. They were finally here. I wondered how many of us would survive this night.
I told Ashley to tell everyone that enemies have entered the building.

(Amina Moria POV)
'They're finally here.'
I clutched my weapon even tighter. It was currently in the bow configuration. I pulled the string, ready to construct an arrow at a moment's notice.
'Your first life and death battle. How exciting.'
I heard a voice resounding from deep in my soul.
'It's you. I honestly forget you existed. Why did you have to talk to me now? Can't you shut up like the past couple of months?'
I hadn't heard its voice since my 16th birthday months ago. My 16th birthday was uneventful as I insisted on not having a party as none of my family could attend.
My uncle, parents and grandfather were all prominent mages that could return from the front lines. And my older siblings who were 7 years older were trainees in the military.
Though Jules did buy me a bracelet and took me out for dinner which was nice. The soul spoke up then and teased me about liking him. I vehemently rejected it as we were just friends.
'Things were getting interesting so I couldn't help but comment.'
'You can keep your comments to yourself.'
It was easier for me to pretend it didn't exist. Though I wondered why I wasn't gaining anything from it. At this point, some of her powers should've transferred to me.
Another student from class 3A also had the soul attribute and he used {Soul Absorption} on an S rank mage criminal named Glenn Price.
Before being captured he was famous for his liquid attribute. The student, named Levi Robbins has now shown a greater talent in the liquid attribute which he previously didn't have.
I put those thoughts out of my mind and focused on the two entrances.
After a minute of waiting I heard a thud and 2 shadows appearing from one of the entrances.
I constructed two arrows and awaited for them to peak their heads. Just as they enter I let go of the string, sending the arrows hurtling at speeds faster than sound.
They weren't able to react before they pierced their heads killing them instantly.
'Wow, your first proper kill. Though they were weak and it was a sneak attack. But still impressive.'
The soul just had to make a comment. I could tell it was being sarcastic. I ignored its commentary and waited for the next opponents to come.
These were probably just scouts, the real enemies had yet to come. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jules going and collecting their bodies.
They were heavily armoured and had mana-powered assault rifles. These assault rifles used the mana of the user to increase the speed of the bullets.
They were extremely powerful but suffered one major issue. It was practically useless on C ranks and above. That's why the students in the A section used more standard weapons such as swords.
However, these were the perfect weapons for mages whose talent was destined only for D rank. These mages also didn't use attributed magic as it consumed too much mana and they usually didn't have high affinities for them.
So the best weapons they could use were these guns that were extremely efficient in defeating other D ranks and below.
Another thing about these weapons was the fact that they could only be obtained by being the military. The weapon only stays in the military.
Even my grandfather with his high status was unable to procure one of these weapons. This organisation definitely had ties to the government.
This wasn't just a simple attack. There was something greater at play and we were at the centre of all of it.
'No wonder Jules was worried. I need to ask him what he knows.'
This further strengthened my resolve to survive and find the truth.
