After filling up my stomach with delicious goodies Matthew and I had a small chat, somehow he opened up to me a little and told me a few things. He told me that his mother was a researcher in medicine and that she had made a discovery that would revolutionize healing medicines as we know it. When I asked him what it was he didn't give me any immediate answer.

I was sure that he doesn't trust me that much yet, so I'm not that offended and regarding his mother's condition, I chose not to pry into it.

It seems that the Empire wanted to use the newly discovered medicine for their own merits. Hence, the reason why Matthew's mother refused to help them despite being offered a gracious sum of money.

She was an inventor like me, but regarding her circumstances, she wasn't well protected like I was, because the people around me kept me off of trouble from shady organizations to greedy merchants and despicable nobles. Whereof which I will tell you about that story some other time.

Now, I am thankful that I was born into a family with connections. Because if it weren't for them I may have already been exploited or forced to do other people's biddings.

Matthew dozed off a few minutes after laying in bed. I was amazed that a small and frail child such as him was able to evade his pursuers for so long.

I sat beside the window using the chair I got from the table. I was thinking of how I could return back to the Blackrock Republic and how I could get out of this situation. I can deny any involvement with Matthew so they would release me, but from the fact that he saved me, I feel obliged to return the favor.

However... how was I still alive?

The avalanche could have crushed or buried me to death. I was also aware of the river at the base of Pilapil village and maybe the avalanche pushed me off there, but from the drop before hitting the water is so high. I was certain that I would have something broken if I jumped off the ledge and hit the river at breakneck speeds. Although I wasn't sure of how deep the river was because if I smashed into rocks that would've spelt the end of me and I also could've drowned if I ever did manage to survive all of that...

Also, what state was I in when Matthew found me? For sure a simple medicine won't do a thing if you're near death... Now, it makes me even more curious as to what that medicine was...

I kept on rewinding this stuff in my head over and over. Maybe I was just really lucky I don't know...

"I need to pee..." [Angelica]

As I was lost in thought I never noticed that the moon from the window had already switched from the ten o'clock to the two o'clock position. I don't know how long I was out, but now I feel a great urge to take a piss.

I knocked on the steel door.

"Helloooo is anybody there?" [Angelica]

"What?"

Oh, there's someone there. I wanted to check if there was someone from the other side, cause if we are going to try escaping now would be the right time.

"Can you open up 'cause I need to use the toilet." [Angelica]

"How about, no."

"Please, I really really need to pee!" [Angelica]

"Stop wasting my time and go use the chamber pot!"

"There's pot?! Where!" [Angelica]

"I said CHAMBER POT!!"

I was joking lol. Kids, don't do drugs.

I scanned the place and saw it at the very edge of the room. It had a couple of flies flying all around it and as soon as I opened it...

Oh, hell no! I quickly covered it up again. It's filled with all kinds of disgusting *beep*

"Um... the thing you said hasn't been cleaned for a while. So can I use the toilet now?" [Angelica]

"Sorry but I cannot. I am tasked to keep watch on both of you."

So he's alone that's good.

"If you open up, I'll let you watch~" [Angelica]

"Ehem-ehem... I'll only make this an exception, don't tell the captain that I let you out."

"Okay~" [Angelica]

This fucking-perverted-ass-sicko...

While I can hear him fiddling with the keys I woke Matthew up with a whisper.

"Mmn... is it morning?" [Matthew]

"We're going to escape you and I." [Angelica]

"Ah, okay!" [Matthew]

"I will open it now, move away from the door."

When the door opened, using my earth enchant I hit him on the head with the wood that I broke off from the chair.

You may be thinking why not use any other weapon its because we were disarmed when they locked us up. There weren't even any utensils at the dining table that I could use. I only wanted to knock him out for the reason he hasn't done anything bad, plus I would rather not take a life of a random person under any such circumstances. Unless... if they do plan on doing something...

To tell you the truth, the first and last time that I had actually killed a person is the knight that had tried to rape me and kill Blake...

There are quests that you can take from the guild under the rogue section. In those quests are people who have done despicable and inhumane things to others. I'll spare you of the details, but it would certainly warrant for the taking of their life.

Although there are some instances where the captors would turn them over to be judged and imprisoned. Still... we avoid those quests like a plague because of Maria and Mooly. Luckily, there was no rule by the guild that would force us to take them which I can say is a sigh of relief.

I took the short sword off the guard and peeked out from the corner.

"Ssssshit..." [Angelica]

"What is it, Angelica?" [Matthew]

When I put my head out I saw a couple of guards... they were lined up front to back probably doing a patrol... all of them staring blankly at me swords drawn.

God of all times why the heck should they be there...

As I moved my foot I hit something metallic. I stared down and saw the greaves of the guy that I had knocked out earlier, they were out in plain sight at the corridor...

I silently pulled the unconscious guard inside our room without breaking eye contact with the guards outside, then hid.

Soon one by one, they ran into our room and one by one, they flew out hitting the wall. Thereafter Matthew and I ran while the guards were still stunned.

"For a girl to be able to overpower those knights. You're really strong!" [Matthew]

I don't know if that was a compliment or an insult lol.

Running all over we encountered guards one place after the other.

"Just how long is this freaking corridor!!" [Angelica]

We've been running non-stop for quite a while now, but still no sign of an exit. Shit, I still need to take a leak...

I stopped momentarily at a balcony.

"Angelica?" [Matthew]

"Matthew, can I ask you to turn around and keep watch for any guards? I need to check where we can make our escape." [Angelica]

"O-okay!" [Matthew]

When Matthew left...

At a certain place below the castle... Two knights are talking to each other, one of whom was counting his money.

"Hey, how much did you get?" [Knight 1]

"About a 100 silver." [Knight 2]

"A 100?! How come you got so much!" [Knight 1]

"Old man... I've had four fucking straight shifts. I worked my ass off for these." [Knight 2]

"Blah! If I were any younger I'd probably get more than you." [Knight 1]

(Drizzle...)

"Has it started raining?" [Knight 2]

"It hadn't rained for a while now. This could be a blessing." [Knight 1]

"Wait... why is it only at this spot?" [Knight 2]

"Yeah, that's odd... and it's a clear sky tonight." [Knight 1]

"Then where the heck is it coming from?" [Knight 2]

The two knights looked up and they saw the liquid falling out from the balcony.

"Do you smell that?" [Knight 1]

"Hey now, I just took a shower before duty." [Knight 2]

"No, not you..." [Knight 1]

(Sniff-sniff... sniff-sniff...)

"This isn't rain! This is?! This is!!" [Knight 2]

While I was taking a piss there was a loud commotion from below the castle. When I finished, I peeked from the balcony and saw two people running towards a stairwell near us. Crap! Has our escape already been discovered?!

"Angelica whats happeniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing?!!" [Matthew]

In a hurry, I grabbed Matthew at the waist with one arm and ran like a bat out of hell.

"Hey! You there!"

We got spotted by knights when we went downstairs, so I smacked both of them on the head.

"Damn! Properly wash first before you go after someone okay?" [Angelica]

I don't know why but those guys smelled just like... oh fudge... I placed my hand on my face when I realized the reason why.

Then for some reason, I felt a cold chill when coming near an intersection. Should I bolt it? Or slow down and make a quick glance? Better be cautious, I'm in unfamiliar territory after all.

As I neared the chill feels much stronger on the right side. Naturally, I looked to my right, when 1/4th of my face was in the open something grazed my left cheek.

In an instant felt a sharp pain and lost my balance, throwing Matthew and I at the center of the intersection.

"Matthew!" [Angelica]

As soon as I recovered from our fall I checked on Matthew.

"I'm alright. Angelica?! Your cheek!" [Matthew]

I held my cheek and saw a streak of blood two inches across my hand.

"First Aid!!" [Angelica]

When I was sure that it had closed up, I focused my eyes to where I received the wound and saw a woman pointing her bow at me. She was giving off this icy glare.

"Artemis?!" [Matthew]

"I knew it, that leaving her unshackled will cause us problems." [Artemis]

"You know her Matthew?" [Angelica]

"They are the ones who captured us." [Matthew]

Ah... so let's see what we're up against...

An archer armed with a mythril longbow, a quiver tied to her thigh full of arrows from iron to titanium and an anchor? There are two weapons crossed behind her back which looked like anchors, made of what seemed like mythril.

A melee weapon? That's unheard of... It's extremely rare for archers to carry stuff that would sacrifice their agility.

I stood up and pointed the short sword at her.

"How amusing, a magician using a sword." [Artemis]

She thought that I was a magician? Well, I can use that to my advantage.

"And an archer with an anchor lel." [Angelica]

"Oh, this? It's an arrow." [Artemis]

She points with her finger on the thing at her back.

What the fuck? That thing is an arrow?!

"Surely you jest." [Angelica]

"If you want... you can try some. I'm sure that it will enter you effortlessly despite its size~" [Artemis]

"If you say it like that then... You'll probably also like this sword, even though it is short, its girth may be too much to your liking. It'll be painful at first, but it will feel good later on~" [Angelica]

I cut him off, he's too young for these things.

"Well, should we start?" [Artemis]

"If you can properly hit me that is." [Angelica]

"I wasn't planning on killing you earlier. I could hear you long before I shot my arrow and they easily found their mark." [Artemis]

It was like she had already calculated to where the arrow will hit...

Based on the look on her face she wasn't screwing around. Dangerous... this person is dangerous...

If I can, I wish to finish this quickly to avoid capture.
