We explored the cave, it was dark and had numerous tunnels. It reminded me of the catacombs, after wandering for some time we saw no insects...
Do they stay in the deeper section? I hope not, we might run out of torches. If possible, I wouldn't want to use magic as a source of light, only to tire myself.
How many hours or minutes has it been? Inside the cave we can hardly make the time, we needed the sun to judge the time of day.
After walking for a long time, Blake and I decided to take a rest while making a campfire. It was hard to start a fire because the deeper we go, the more the moisture increases. Good thing that I can enchant as it can act as an alternative fire starter. Also, it was getting harder and harder to breathe, the air was thin and without oxygen the fire would be put out.
"Hmn..." [Angelica]
Did we fall asleep? The campfire was out, it was dark and cold. I hear a rustling sound nearby. Then felt something caressing my hair.
"Blake, don't mess with my hair." [Angelica]
"Mmn... what?" [Blake]
Blake groaned.
"Blake, I said, stop it!" [Angelica]
"Angelica. What are you talking about?" [Blake]
Did he wake up just now? Then, whose... touching my hair?
I managed to grab the thing that was touching, it felt like a wet water bottle. It has this plastic feeling to it and was wet, but... something feels awfully wrong, it seemed to have hairs...
I let go of it, my hand trembled as I reached for the torch that was tied around my waist.
When I lit it, a thing about the size of a human was standing on its hind legs. Rubbing and licking its hairy forearms, my hair stood end on end, I screamed.
It was a FUCKING HUGE cockroach!! Aren't insects supposed to be smaller?! When I waved the torch to scare it away, I saw more insects surrounding us.
I'm scared of only a few insects in my past life. Now... I'm freaking terrified of them!! I never knew that there were insects this huge! I grabbed the sword, my thoughts are going into full overdrive {1}. The only thing that kept repeating in my head is "Exterminate! Exterminate!"
~~~Blake~~~
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
When Angelica lit the torch, there was a giant insect right in front of us cleaning itself. I also saw a dozen or more of the same species behind it.
She was so terrified that she screamed. She took out her sword from the scabbard and enchanted it immediately, but... she doesn't seem to be able to control it. The sword's flame was brighter than the torch and it covered the whole sword.
Now that the area was well-lit, the insects weren't in the dozens, but are about 30 to 40 or even more, with different shapes and sizes. I can see Angelica's eyes swimming from left to right.
Angelica, then charged into the mob as she was screaming. Cutting them down one after another in quick succession, I then followed suit.
"Angelica! Conserve your energy!" [Blake]
"Hya!" [Angelica]
"Angelica!" [Blake]
"Exterminate! Exterminate!" [Angelica]
I can't get through to her, if she keeps this up, she'll faint from exhausting her energy.
After the battle, we managed to eliminate the insects. I wouldn't call it exterminate though... it was more like we massacred them in just under two minutes. As the clerk said they are indeed small-fry. Angelica sat on the ground that was stained with insect fluid, her clothes were also covered with them...
"Angelica?" [Blake]
"Hihh?!" [Angelica]
As I called out to her, she suddenly pointed the still-enchanted sword at me. I can see the blade wobbling slightly...
"It's alright. See no more insects..." [Blake]
I lifted my arms up while looking around to make her believe me.
She lowered the sword, small tears fill her eyelids. She stood up and ran towards me while letting go of the sword, at the same time the place became dark again, and I caught her right in my arms.
"Uwahh!" [Angelica]
"It's okay. Calm down, calm down." [Blake]
"I don't want to take any insect extermination quests ever again!!" [Angelica]
"Why did you pick this first then?" [Blake]
"I thought that... the insects were just little. (Sniff-sniff) I didn't know that there were those that are that big!" [Angelica]
"There-there." [Blake]
I stroked her hair to calm her. When she calmed down, I lit a torch and checked how many we had killed. The headcount was around 47 we can sell the feelers for money, but Angelica destroyed some of them, so there are only about 29 left.
I put them all in the bag. When I tried to let Angelica carry one of the bags, she goes "Eeek!" she really doesn't like insects, doesnt she? Well, it is refreshing to know that my fearless childhood friend has something that she's afraid of.
When we were leaving the cave. I've got my hands full, the right hand holding the torch, at my back a bag full of insect feelers and at my right arm...
Angelica, who was clinging very tightly. I can feel her breasts pressing hard against them... feeling that softness after every step, my fatigue seemed to disappear. Also, when walking to the exit. Any sound quickly startles her, when she hears a sound she looks left to right while gripping tightly on my arm and checking then touching her hair from time to time. Ahh... again this softness, it's even softer than a cotton pillow.
As we got back to the farm. Angelica asked the farm owner if she could use the bath. He asked, "What for?" Angelica glared at him. He seems to get the idea after looking at her clothes...
In her bag. Angelica took out the magic crystal that Jose gave her and quickly went into the bath. The bathroom was just beside the dining area.
While I talked to the farm owner about what had happened, we could hear Angelica from the bath.
"Uwahh! It touched my hair!" [Angelica]
With that our first extermination quest is complete.
