The adventurers are scattered everywhere checking out the shops. It's like a gun show, but with medieval weaponry.
The designs of weapons here are far in comparison to the ones in the capital. If you want cool-looking weapons, then this is the right place for you.
Although a lot of them seemed impractical and would be better off as a wall hanger.
One particular shop caught my eye. I scurried past the hordes of adventurers and entered. I scanned the goods that are neatly displayed on the stands and brackets.
"Good morning care to buy any...THING?!"
A greeting came from what I guess is the shopkeeper.
When he suddenly raised his voice I was taken back by surprise and quickly looked his way to find out why.
That person was a dwarf with big bulging muscles.
"P-princess Elaine?!"
"Eh?" [Angelica]
Someone who knows Michelle?
"Oh, sorry I was mistaken."
The dwarf man said after looking at my chest. As if it was a natural reaction, my arm moved by themselves and covered it.
"I don't like being compared to my mother." [Angelica]
"Hahahaha! You trying to trick me or something kid?"
"Who knows?" [Angelica]
I shrugged my shoulders and tried to play around with him to gather some information.
"Princess Elaine doesn't have a kid. She disappeared without even having a lover."
"Ahh, so my parents don't seem like lovers. They're good at hiding their relationship." [Angelica]
"And who might be her mysterious lover then?"
"Her personal knight, Terrence." [Angelica]
"You... you do know that using the name of a criminal could put you behind bars?" He said to me with a serious look.
"Father isn't a criminal. It was all just a misunderstanding." [Angelica]
"Do you have any proof kid?"
"Did you feel that he was an evil person when he was with mother?" [Angelica]
"Kid, I've had enough of your jokes, get out before I call the knights."
This person seems to think highly of her. Hmm... a dwarf who knew mother... there is only one dwarf that I can think about.
"Okay, sorry for barging in your shop~" [Angelica]
I turned and started to slowly walk out.
"Oh, by the way. Mother wanted to thank you for the knife~" [Angelica]
"What knif... Ho-hold on?!"
"For a second there. I thought that you wouldn't believe me." [Angelica]
"How did??"
"I told you already. I'm her daughter." [Angelica]
The dwarf man scratches his beard. After explaining to him what had actually happened, he finally decided to believe me. I came to know that his name is Seymour.
"Hoh... so how is the princess doing?" [Seymour]
"She's doing well, currently she is residing in Dalio with my father." [Angelica]
"Wait, Dalio? So you're that inventor?! The frigid damsel?!" [Seymour]
"Heheheh..." [Angelica]
I smiled wryly. Screw that person who gave me that nickname.
"C-can I see your magic?" [Seymour]
"Sorry, but I don't have my weapon with me." [Angelica]
"Ah, so it needs to be your weapon?" [Seymour]
"No, it can be any weapon except ranged. What I meant was. I left it at the inn and I wouldn't want to just pick up any of your goods without your permission..." [Angelica]

"Hahah! You can do anything here, Frid." [Seymour]
"Frid?" [Angelica]
"Frigid." [Seymour]
"Do you mind if I melt a few of your wares?" [Angelica]
"Uh, no-no. That was a bad joke sorry." [Seymour]
I almost popped a vein. I don't really react well to jokes. After receiving his apology, I lifted an iron cutlass, its weight reminded me of the one I first used in Libang, which made me smile.
"Umm... can you close the shop for a while? I don't want other people to see." [Angelica]
"So this is a secret?" [Seymour]
"No, I just don't want to attract any attention." [Angelica]
I told him to close the shop. I wouldn't want to be discovered here and have everyone asking for my magic crystals.
"Okay then." [Seymour]
When I used my fire enchant a crimson line traced the edge of the cutlass. Its glow made Seymour go "Ohh!"
"Do you have any scrap which I can cut?" [Angelica]
"Scrap?" [Seymour]
Seymour had this questioning look on his head. He may have thought that I was referring to something else.
"Metal or anything with the same hardness, but I prefer it a bit thicker." [Angelica]
Wait... somehow that sounded kind of lewd...
"Ah! I have some steel ingot that was just delivered the other day that I needed to be cut." [Seymour]
"That can do." [Angelica]
After a moment...
"Huff, here." [Seymour]
When he dropped the steel ingot, it made the ground shake. This steel ingot is about the size of a small couch and probably weighs a ton. Dwarfs are really strong...
"So, how do I cut this?" [Angelica]
"I thought you said any thickness?" [Seymour]
"No, what cut do you want?" [Angelica]
"Ah, if possible I want all of them to be the same size as my palm." [Seymour]
"Alrighty." [Angelica]
Slowly slicing the ingots up half at a time. Seymour looks at it in astonishment. My fire enchant can easily cut through the ingot like a knife through butter.
"There." [Angelica]
"Thanks! If it weren't for you I'd still have problems cutting this thing up." [Seymour]
"Really? I thought that this was normally delivered this way?" [Angelica]
"Nah, it came from some stingy trader that I probably pissed off." [Seymour]
Putting down the cutlass, next I picked the greatsword that was on the wall bracket.
"Careful! That thing is heav-" [Seymour]
His mouth went agape when I lifted the greatsword with just one hand, and a gentle breeze fills his shop. This time I used my wind enchant, which made the greatsword weightless.
"Do you have any other magic?" [Seymour]
"I do, but the effects are different for each." [Angelica]
"Can I also see the different ones?" [Seymour]
"You can but I'd have to test it on one of your weapons..." [Angelica]
"It's fine by me. I needed to quench my curiosity." [Seymour]
I picked up another weapon, this time it was a rapier with a very thin blade. Rapiers are generally a good weapon to be used against the exposed gaps in armor. It is light and also long so it is comfortable to maneuver around. Although it has a drawback... the blade is very thin and is more likely the break if you had hit in the middle.
I asked Seymour to use the cutlass and apply as much force as he can in his strike. I also told him to go and target the middle of the rapier as I go and enchant it.
(Pang!)
"OH!!" [Seymour]
Seymour is like a kid that had found a new toy. He hit the rapier in the middle but its blade hadn't been broken. The opposite could be said for the cutlass though, it had this huge nick in the middle of it and with a few good swings, it will shatter.
My earth enchant, acts just like a normal weapon but makes it indestructible that even if I had used Blake's jian with the fire enchant it doesn't even make a single dent on the blade. Which is really nice but I find its uses to be limited...
But damn! Dwarf swings aren't just for show, with Seymour's single swing it felt like my whole arm is going to break. So that's why they use those huge thick hammers...
I'd bet that if baseball were to be introduced in this world a dwarf can hit a home run without even losing a sweat.
"Hey, do you plan on selling those magic crystals here?" [Seymour]
"Wait... hasn't there been any traders bringing them?" [Angelica]
"There are only a few traders who come here to trade. Since we are on a mountain, they risk getting attacked by monsters and are unable to outrun them because of the snow. Animals that can withstand the cold and carry their goods are also scarce and expensive, so only a few bother to come here." [Seymour]
"I see... transporting them would surely be a difficult feat." [Angelica]
"If you can get them here. I'm sure that most of the other smiths will be happy to use them. Heck, maybe also invent something with them." [Seymour]
"Hmm... maybe I shouldn't sell them here after all. If I did, I'll have a ton of competition..." [Angelica]
"Heheh, please don't joke about that..." [Seymour]
Seymour breaks a cold sweat. It wasn't a joke though...
"Hey, Seymour. I'll give you some of my imbued magic crystals if you can do something for me." [Angelica]
"Anything for the princess's daughter." [Seymour]
"I want you to forge me a weapon." [Angelica]
"Do you have any particular design that you'd like?" [Seymour]
"Yes, but consider it as an experiment." [Angelica]
After sometime~
"Angelica... I know a task that is not feasible when I hear one." [Seymour]
"Is it really that difficult to make?" [Angelica]
"You'd have to take into account that the blade may break or shatter in the resulting explosion from the magic of your crystal. Also, how do you plan on playing with the weight?
The blade has to be thick to handle the pressure and explosion, but it will be as heavy as a greatsword... and even if it is thick I doubt that it will last after a few explosion spells...
Considering that it also has these vents along the sides of it which will somehow lower the durability of the sword considerably." [Seymour]
"Ahh..." [Angelica]
I got scolded. I really should be staying away from making weapons...
"Sorry Gunblade... I guess you are impossible to make, for now..." [Angelica]
"Gunblade? {1} That's a good name." [Seymour]
Ah, I let it slip.
"Hey, it's trademarked so don't use it!" [Angelica]
"Okay-okay. No need to be so defensive..." [Seymour]
It's not that I made the name anyway.
"Here are the crystals." [Angelica]
"Eh? But I haven't even made your sword yet?" [Seymour]
"I thought that it was impossible?" [Angelica]
"Not feasible, but only for now." [Seymour]
"Are you really going to try and make it?" [Angelica]
"Forging is a dwarfs craft. We want to go challenge ourselves." [Seymour]
"Heh, I will look forward to your prototype." [Angelica]
We both grinned as we came to an agreement.
When I left the shop. Blake, Irvine, Maria, and Mooly were outside. How did they find me?!
(Twitch-twitch)
Ahh... hah... now I see...
Seeing Mooly's ear twitching is somewhat cute. It's like a radar locking on its target.
"Why did you run off all of a sudden? We thought that we were going to take a quest?" [Maria]
"Oh sorry I forgot eheh~" [Angelica]
"Come over here, we're going to the guild." [Maria]
"A-aw! Maria ezy won de chiks!!" [Angelica]
Maria, pinching me on the cheeks with her vice-like grip, pulled me towards the adventurers guild.
