Chapter 89 - The Human Camp

Chapter 89 - The Human Camp

The Elves and the Humans both The Pirate King their sides of the story.

Basically, there was a war between Elves and Humans in this area. Humans were winning hard, and Elves had no other chance, but to offer to give them some of their supplies on weekly basis, if humans stopped attacking them. The humans agreed, and a contract was signed.

The Elves were supposed to give their supplies yesterday, but they didn't, that's why humans came over and demanded the supplies to be handed to them.

The Elven leader told everyone to follow him, and decided to show them the situation in their camp.

They have barely any water left, and they have problems with food aswell. They have several sick and injured men, but they don't have anyone to treat them. Because humans already killed all the medics that these Elves had during the war.

The Elf leader: "There are many Elven and Human camps in the vicinity, and everyone is struggling. During the war, several monster hot zones got created, and the entire continent became a wasteland. It's impossible to grow crops, and difficult to maintain a livestock too."

Number 2: "How are you guys surviving then?"

The Elf leader shows number 2 a piece of rotten flesh.

"We eat monster meat, mostly zombies. It is horrible, and leaves you only hungrier after some time, but we don't have anything else..." The Elf leader almost starts breaking down in tears.

Number 7 whispers to number 2: "Listen, I know that they can't really obtain any food, but why are they short on water? They could've just created an infinite water source and prevented this whole water problem from happening, am I wrong?"

Number two whispers back: "Maybe only humans know about the infinite water source? I don't know."

One of the four humans from the other camp says this: "We aren't in a position any better than yours Elves, you may be in a bad situation, but that doesn't give you an excuse to break your promise. If you don't give us the supplies by the end of today. We will come with an army tommorow, and use FORCE."

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

The four humans leave.

The Elven leader clenches his fist in frustration: "Please, the five of you, can you help us? I know you guys are humans, but you seem different than those four, or their leader. If you help us, we will give you anything you want, even though we don't have much."

The five revived players look at eachother, they're unsure of what to do.

Number 51: "Where's the camp of these humans? We want to check it out."

(Some time later)

The gang of five revived players appear at the human camp. The human camp isn't just a normal camp. It almost looks like a castle, with all its stone walls and large stone buildings. It really doesn't seem like the situation there is too bad.

There are two players guarding the gate. When they spot the five, one of them shouts: "WHO ARE YOU?!"

Eventually, the five revived players get into the radius of fifty meters. Everyone sees eachother's ranks.

The two guards are ranked 8221 and 7226. When they see the ranking of the five, one of them quickly runs into the camp and alerts everyone. The other one aims his glaive at them and starts shaking. "DON'T YOU DARE GET ANY CLOSER!"

Soon, several players appear on the walls and watch the five players, among them, are the four who were at the Elven camp. When those four spot the five players, their expressions change from happy to worried. One of them grits their teeth, the other three hide and get off the stone walls.

The revived ones approach the gate.

51: "Can we speak with your leader?"

The brave guard stands his ground: "What do the five of you want with our leader?"

7: "If you don't let us through, we will just force our way through."

The guard knows that he wouldn't stand a chance, so he simply lets them pass.

23: "Escort us to your leader."

On their way through the camp, they can see that the situation is actually really bad food wise. Besides having an infinite water source, the humans have basically no access to any nutrients.

The guard shows them the way to a big building made out of stone bricks. There's a person sitting on a throne made out of shiny crystals there.

The person sitting on the throne is ranked number six... It's a woman from what the five can tell.

Number two finds her oddly familiar, but he can't wrap his head around who it is.

The leader looks at the five.

The leader: "What is your business with my gang?" She asks the five, without showing any sign of respect or fear.

Number two finds her voice familiar too.

2: "Your situation certainly doesn't look as bad as some of your members described. Besides food shortage, this camp looks like it's in a good shape. And yet you are taking supplies from the starving Elven camp."

The leader: "So what? Are you implying something?" The leader of the human camp finds number two's voice very familiar too. "The Elves took everything from us, you, as fellow humans should understand that."

58: "There is a difference between taking revenge on someone, and destroying the lifes of the innocent."

The Leader: "The innocent you say?! Have you not fought in the war or what?! Do you not realize what you're saying?! These Elves, every single one of them contributed heavily towards the war. So many humans died.... so many of us died, we never asked to be here, some god or whatever decided that this is where we're going to be from now on. Do we deserve to die because of that?!"

Number two finally realizes who the person in front of him is. She has changed so much that he didn't recognize her. Her appearance is pretty similar besides a few scars on her face, however, the way she talks, the way she carries herself, it's the woman who once tried to kill him during the bounty event.

Miyu. That's who, Number Two, Mikey Hunt, is talking to.

7: "You have a point, but isn't the war already over? Didn't you all suffer enough?! Why make the relation between you even worse?"

Miyu: "The way you all speak, the fact that you all have such a high ranking, and the fact that there's five of you... you actually haven't fought in the war have you? That's because you were dead. The five of you, are the five people who came back from the dead."
