The expedition to Heaven began. The Elven horses were much faster than Miker or Lucy expected.

On their way to Heaven, no one dared to cross them. Some bandits were nearby, but they quickly recognized the three commanders and didn't even try to engage. Monsters sensed a lot of power coming from them, so they ignored them aswell.

The group travelled and travelled, until evening befell. Around this time, they finally reached the mountains.

The Elven horses are fine with travelling through rough terrain like mountains, so this is no problem.

After one more hour of travelling, they finally reached the village called Fior. The one where they will be staying the night.

Eula's group went to the village chief, who already received news from the king. The chief gave them top-notch lodging, three houses that were more than spacious.

Mikey and Lucy, Rook and Ignis, and finally, Alicia and Eula. That's how they split up in the houses.

Mikey and Lucy didn't go to sleep, they awaited an ambush from the assasins. They both stayed up and watched through the windows throughout the night. But nothing happened... Nothing happened, until... Mikey finally saw someone.

However, the assasin dissapeared before he could even alert Lucy. Their entire goal was for Lucy to see atleast one of the assasins. That way, she could start tracking them, which would obviously help out a lot.

The morning hit, and a new day started. Eula's group departed pretty much right away and ventured towards Heaven. They left their horses at Fior, and continued by foot.

Eventually, they stumbled upon the reason why they left their horses behind. A land of mist. A land, where an extremely mist resides at all times, and where many people lost their lives because they lost their way. Heaven is inside the land of mist.

Eula and Ignis explained that monsters reside in the land of mist. These monsters are called mimics, and they try to lure people in, by copying their voices, and even their appearance.

Thankfully, Eula and Ignis both know their way around the mist, as long as everyone stays near eachother, there will be no problems.

"Hey! Guys! Hey!" Mikey can be heard shouting from the mist.

"Mikey?" Lucy asks and turns around. "Wait, you're right here, what the hell?"

"Shhh, those are the mimics." Eula tells Lucy. "They are the monsters we told you to watch out on." She explains. "From here on out, we aren't going to talk, not until we pass through this part." She adds, while whispering the whole time. "Follow me, quietly."

Mikey and Rook are watching the rear, Lucy and Eula are at the front, Ignis and Alicia are guarding thekr left and right.

"By the way, these monsters can mimic how you guys look too, not sure if I mentioned thst. Anyways, make sure you don't lose a sight of anyone, that way, you know for sure if someone is a fake or not." Eula adds while they go forward.

"Let's keep an eye on eachother." Mikey turns to Rook. Rook nods and answers: "We should create some kind of a password that we will use in order to identify eachother."

"Don't bother, they hear us." Alicia answers. "Oh, that's right, damn." Rook says.

"Can those mimics copy our skills?" Mikey asks Ignis.

"Yes, but only to some extent. They can't actually totally copy you, if they could, this area would be too dangerous for even the strongest to walk through." Ignis answers.

Mikey summons six pirates. He orders each one to stick to someone and follow them wherever they go, even if they get lost. This way, even if someone loses their way, the others will be able to identify them, and most importantly, Mikey will. Whenever his spectral pirates dissapear, he receives all of the information that the pirates gathered. So even if someone copies his technique, atleast he can recognize it.

Mikey explains his intentions, and everyone agrees that this is the best course of action.

Everything seems to be going smoothly, until Mikey and Rook hear something right behind them, as if someone was breathing on their necks. They turn around, nothing there.

"What was that?" Mikey asks whispering. "Probably a mimic, but I don't see anyone."

Mikey and Rook turn around and realize that everyone is gone, the mist is so heavy that they already lost them. Mikey can't feel Lucy through the soulmate stone either.

"Well damn." Mikey says. "What now?"

"Let's keep going forward, they will probably realize that we are missing soon and call out to us. Sound travels pretty badly through mist, but we should be able to hear them. Now, hurry!" Rook starts walking faster and Mikey follows him.

"MIKEY! ROOK! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Eula can be heard.

"HERE! WAIT FOR US!" Rook shouts.

"FOLLOW MY VOICE!" Eula shouts back.

Mikey and Rook start running towards the voice. After a few seconds they finally see her.

"Hey guys! Finally! I told everyone that I was going to search for you and that they should wait for me, come on, let's get back to everyone." Eula answers and starts walking towards them. Mikey and Rook start walking towards her aswell.

"Thanks for not forgetting us." Rook laughs.

Mikey and Rook walk a little bit closer to Eula.

Mikey takes out his Duskblade and dissapears, Rook takes his axe into his hand. They both attack Eula. Mikey pierces her back. The mimic reveals itself as it loses its form that it took on.

Mikey immobilizes the mimic and Rook cuts off its head.

"I am glad that we understood eachother, Rook." Mikey exhales heavily and puts his duskblade away.

"The instructions were simple, if someone doesn't have your pirate alongside them, they are probably a fake, thankfully I am travelling with you, so we are sure whether it's a fake or not." Rook puts his axe away aswell.

They both hear someone shouting in the distance, it sounds like Alicia and Ignis.

"No! Go away! You must be a fake!" Alicia shouts.

"No, no, no, I am telling you! I only lost Mikey's pirate, I got attacked by a mimic, and for some reason, it focused the pirate instead of me! Trust me!" Ignis reasons.

"Don't even try getting anycloser, or I will cut you down!" Alicia warns Ignis, steps back, and takes out her special weapon, an extremely sharp silver wire.

Mikey and Rook find the two of them.

"Hey! Mikey! Please! Tell Alicia that I've only lost your pirate, she doesn't believe me."

Mikey shakes his head and looks at Alicia, she understands his message, and a second later, the mimic lost its head to the nearly invisible silver wire.
