During the night, nothing strange happened. Besides the nightmare about Kraken, which both Mikey and Lucy have been having more frequently lately.
The nightmare made both of them wake up. They ended up staying up all night, looking at the Elven royal city, and having deep conversations about what's to come...
(The next day)
Mikey, Eula, Ignis, Lucy, Rook, and Alicia, all gather before embarking on the journey to Heaven.
Mikey was riding a horse with Rook, he met up with him a lot earlier than with the others. They met eachother and introduce themselves. Rook is a young man as Ignis said. Well, to be exact, he is a lot older than Mikey, but in terms of the Elven years, he is younger. Rook has short silver spiky hair, and silver eyes. One thing that is noticable about him, is his large, double-sided, silver, battle axe that he carries on his back. The axe is almost as tall as Rook.
"So, your name is Mikey right?" Rook asks him. "That's right, and you're Rook, I presume?" Mikey and Rook shake hands.
"I heard about your story. A human is planning to destroy the village called Heaven, right?"
"That's right." Mikey answers.
"But you don't know who it is... correct?" Rook suspiciously raises his eyebrow.
"No, no I don't." Mikey answers.
"Hmm, you know, I never really cared about Heaven too much, since I don't like Dragonkin or Dwarves... I actually disliked it. But when I heard that a human is planning on destroying it, I got surprised." Rook says.
"Why is that?" Mikey asks unknowingly.
"Well, first of all, I don't see the reasoning. Why would a human have a beef with Heaven?" Rook asks. "But more importantly." Rook looks at Mikey. "How would a human even know that Heaven exists?"
"Are you implying something?" Mikey asks right back at him.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Perchance."
"Have you heard about those events that humans have to go through?"
"The trials, yes, I do know about them. That's how you got to know about the existence of Heaven, right?" Rook asks.
Mikey nods. "I think that the person who is trying to destroy this village, got to know if through the same means. I know that I might be the prime suspect, but I will do my best to prove that I am not the one who wants to destroy it." Mikey reasons.
"Well, whether you are or aren't the one planning to do it, I don't really care. I already said that I have no interest in Heaven, and I mean that." Rook says. "However, whoever is planning on destroying Heaven must be strong, and if they're strong, I want to fight them." Rook smiles and signatures for Mikey to follow him.
"May I ask something? Why did you join the Elven army and became a commander?" Mikey asks Rook who stays silent for a moment before answering.
"I have to become strong, as strong as possible." He answers quietly. "My family was murdered when I was still a young kid. That was seventy years ago already... back then, I swore that I would get my revenge." Rook says.
"If you don't mind me asking, who killed them?"
"A demon, a demon who's face I still remember very clearly, he laughed at me and let me live, so that I can get my revenge one day, I have to make sure that he regrets it!" Rook griths his teeth.
"There are demons in this world? That's something that I didn't know."
"Well, their appearance is incredibly rare, so it's no surprise you didn't know."
"So that's why you want to fight strong people? To become stronger and kill that Demon?" Mikey asks Rook who stops walking for a moment.
"Exactly, all this Elven politics and other crap, I don't give a shit about any of it, some of the other commanders know about my story too, and they know that I want to find a demon aswell. Most people laugh when I tell them that." Rook says with disgust.
"Why would they laugh? Are demons that strong or what?" Mikey intrigues.
"Yes, they are, but that doesn't matter, I just have to become strong enough to defeat him. Nothing else matters." Rook answers.
"I was wondering, how does the Elven commander system even work? Why are you split in this kind of a manner?" Mikey intrigues further.
"No clue, but each major city of the Elven Kingdom has twelve commanders. One of them is their leader, the captain. Usually the strongest one among everyone, and the second strongest one is the second in lead, the vice captain. In our case, Eula is the captain, and I am the vice captain as you probably already know." Rook turns right and enters a building that reads 'Stable.'
"This is the horse that we will be travelling on." He points at a white muscular horse that starts neighing at Rook, because it's happy to see him. Rook pets his horse on the head and gives it some wheat.
"Her name is Star. I've been taking care of her ever since we were little. I can confidently say, that I trust her speed more than myself." Rook says with a smile. Mikey smiles back.
Rook is the Vice-Captain? He must be really strong...
(Some time later)
The group of the Elven commanders, Ignis, Mikey and Lucy finally went out.
Shortly after them, about twenty assasins who are all meant to murder Mikey and Lucy, of course, the two of them are aware of this. The other thing they're aware of is, that the King wants Eula to keep an eye on Mikey and Lucy.
Ignis on the other hand, wants to help Mikey with destroying the village, no one knows Ignis's true goals, and Ignis doesn't know why Mikey wants to destroy the village either.
Rook and Alicia are clueless. Alicia volunteered because she has never seen Heaven with her own eyes, Rook went, because he wants to fight whoever is trying to destroy the village called Heaven.
Even though Lucy knows that there are assasins after them, she doesn't know where they are. She doesn't have any connection with them, so she can't track them.
I should have stayed quiet back on the ship when I received this quest, if I did, all of this mess probably wouldn't have happened. Damn it! Mikey blames himself with anger.
