Mikey and the others are going around the island, buying supplies. Arrows, food and most importantly, alcohol.
Mikey is shopping with Iorhael, Lucy is shopping with Eula, and the two other Elven commanders are shopping together.
Mikey and Iorhael in particular are buying some wine at the moment. They already bought several bottles.
"Do all Elves drink this much?" Mikey asks, concerned about Iorhael. "Hahaha, of course. We have all the time in the world, so getting drunk is a pretty normal thing in our culture." Iorhael declares. "Also, the Elven liver is one of the toughest organs in Elven body. Thanks to that, we don't receive permanent damage from alcohol, unlike you humans," he adds and proudly smirks.
Mikey and Iorhael start walking to the next shop.
"Did a human tell you that?" Mikey asks. "Huh? Oh yeah, I heard that humans get quite the symptoms from alcohol and can even get addicted to it pretty easily," Iorhael answers.
"Whoever that person was, he was saying the truth. That's why I don't drink that much." Mikey says. "Only occasionaly right? That's fine too, this alcohol I bought, is a top notch alcohol, very tasty. I am surprised that those filthy pinkskins have it here."
"Why exactly do the Pirates and Elves hate each other so much?" Mikey asks Iorhael. "I will tell you, but not here, I don't think it's safe." Iorhael looks around and notices quite a few pirates staring at them.
"Right, that makes sense." Mikey quietly agrees as he notices the pirates aswell. "Anyways, should we really be only thinking and talking about alcohol?" Mikey asks Iorhael. "No, which is why we are here." Iorhael stops and looks at a shop to their right.
[Magic Shop]
"Magic shop? What's that?" Mikey asks. "They sell magical books and spells. I am looking for a certain spell, I am sure you would like something as well right?" Iorhael walks in the shop, Mikey follows.
"So, what exactly are you searching for?" Mikey asks. "Hey! Mister shopkeeper, where is the section with eternal magic?" Iorhael asks the shopkeeper. "All the way in the back!" The shopkeeper answers across the shop, while convincing another customer to buy a certain book.
"Thank you!" Iorhael goes to the back of the library. "Eternal magic? What's that?" Mikey asks Iorhael as they search through books. "Eternal magic is exactly what it sounds like. It is magic, that never runs out. Spells that last forever." Iorhael starts turning pages of one of the books.
"That sounds really strong, there has to be some kind of a drawback right?" Mikey starts turning pages of another book.
"Not really, it's just that the spells require a ton of mana and the effects usually aren't that powerful, however, the magic is still eternal you know." Iorhael responds. "What are you looking for then?" Mikey asks. "A magic that can allow me to eternally restore my organs or something in that sense, I am pretty old afterall. I've been looking for such magic for a few centuries now, but without any success unfortunately." Iorhael says and closes the book in his hand.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Mikey remembers what Eula told him.
"How much time do you have left?" Mikey asks Iorhael curiously. "About a century, two if I am lucky." Iorhael says miserably which makes Mikey a little angry considering the fact that it's still much longer than he will live.
"This book doesn't seem to be it either. I'll look at some other books, you can search for something yourself if you are interested in anything, I will cover the price don't worry about it."
"Well, excuse me then, I will be going into the section with the books that contain fighting skills." Mikey leaves.
Right now I shouldn't be focusing on something like eternal spells. I need to become stronger. I am not even in top five of the strongest humans at the moment.
After some time of searching for something that would catch his eyes, Mikey comes across a book with dark black cover.
[Finishing Blow] that's the name of the book.
Mikey starts going through the book, the book seems to contain information on a special skill, a skill that allows you to execute enemies when they get under a certain threshold. Mikey decides to take that book with him and goes to the bookstore owner to buy it. He pays for it himself. It cost him 5 silver pirate coins. He used the coins that Christina gave him some time ago.
"Say, mister. Was there a pirate called Christina on this island in the past few weeks?" Mikey asks him. "Christina? You mean that female human with big boobs?" The shopkeeper asks him.
Is that really how these guys remember her? Mikey thinks to himself. "Yes, that's her," Mikey answers awkwardly.
"She was here about one week ago if I recall correctly, she caused quite the commotion. She was travelling with a dwarf, an elf, and another human, a very bizzare party. There were just four of them in the crew, but they were really strong. When she came here, a few pirates tried, well, you probably know what. However, she shot them all dead, her comrades didn't even need to intervene." The shopkeeper says. "After that, the most known pirate on this island heard about it and decided to kill her with his party." He adds.
"What happened to them?" Mikey asks. "They obliterated the pirates, totally. I happened to be in the crowd that was watching the fight." The shopkeeper shakes in fear.
"What was she doing on this island?" Mikey asks him. "I am not sure. I think they were just resupplying and looking to buy something interesting, you know, the normal stuff." The shopkeeper responds. "However, this kind of stuffs always happens at the pirate islands, I am sure you are aware too. If you hadn't mentioned those two grandious pirates, the same thing would have awaited your party." The shopkeeper remarks. "How do you know?" Mikey asks. "Oh, the words spread quite fast around here, especially when something like this happens." The shopkeeper replies.
"I see, anyways, back to Christina. Did she say anything about where she wanted to go?" Mikey asks another question. "No, I am pretty sure that no one got any answers from her, nor from anyone from her group, they only took what they needed and left." The shopkeeper gives an answer. "I have to ask. Is she your friend or something? Because you talk about her as if she was." The shopkeeper asks. "Yeah, well, I am not searching for her at the moment, but I just wanted to know how was she doing." Mikey nervously looks at the shopkeeper. "Anyways, thanks for the info."
"Of course, no problem, I always treat my customers nicely," the shopkeeper smiles.
Mikey heads back to Iorhael. "Did you find anything?" He asks. "Well, this one book may contain something interesting. I will buy it." Iorhael stands up and takes the book. "What about you? Do you want anything?" He asks Mikey.
"Yes." Mikey pulls out the book he bought. "I already paid for it and don't worry about covering it." He adds. "Anyways, we should be leaving by now right? Let's head back." Mikey suggests.
"Yeah, let's do that." Iorhael pays for the book and they both leave.
"By the way, when did you get your hands on pirate coins?" Iorhael asks as they head towards the Elven ships. "A certain friend of mine." Mikey answers bluntly. "Could it be that woman Christina whom you mentioned to the shopkeeper?" Iorhael asks Mikey who looks at him completely flabbergasted. "Old man, how is your hearing so good? You were on the other side of the shop and we were whispering." Mikey confirms Iorhael's question by asking him a question too.
"Who knows..." The old man Iorhael smirks.
In the end, the pirates didn't make a move on anyone from the Elven party and everything proceeded peacefully.
The night comes around, everyone is asleep, but Mikey and Lucy, who are chatting. "No way, did the shopkeeper actually say that about Christina?" Lucy laughs. "Although I kinda envy her." Lucy looks at her chest. "I wish mine were a little bigger."
Mikey is kind of perplexed by what Lucy just said. He's thinking about what can he even tell her, when all of a sudden.
