Lobster

While Emilia is training Kara to become a real secret agent, (and learn so much more about being a real human) I was training with my magic book.

Starting with the basics, and then exploring all sorts of variations, even going into summoning and banishing for a bit.

Then testing what I learned in my Dungeon dimension, then resting for a while to recharge my MP. And while resting, injecting myself with more Vertigo and curare. Pain was good. Weakness leaving my body. Still plenty of weakness going by the absurd levels of pain I still felt. Months of crazy training.

*Ding.

By insane training, the Gamer has obtained an advanced Perk.

Pain suppression III. +3 End, +3 Will. Pain level 70%.

I grinned at the news. I was going to suffer so much more! No pain, no gain, as the saying goes.

One last Dungeon run, for today. I was supposed to meet the new Supergirl later.

*Dungeon level 4 created.

Imperium invasion.

Come to me, poor shapeshifting evil aliens! I twirled my Nth metal knives and rushed forward, slicing and dicing the summoned creatures with much more ease than the first time I encountered them. Then again, I was rather stronger than poor Pef at level 12.

Time stood still in the Dungeon, allowing me to train without losing much time in the realworld. Yet it also didn't, seeing as I was moving and fighting, not being frozen in time. Some kind of alternate timeline, most likely.

Not that I minded. Being a Gamer had its Perks.

After destroying the invasion forces, the Boss appeared. The Imperium ruler.

A much harder fight, that took most of the Justice League to finish the first time.

But I was also prepared this time, alien weapons and forcefields, and more magic spells than my MP could cast in a lifetime.

Buffs and debuffs only though. Using Dark Magic would end the fight much too soon. I wouldn't learn anything if I won too easily.

Even with myself powered, and the boss weakened with debuffs, it was still a long fight. I was still not as strong as Hawkwoman for example. Nor as skilled as the martian cop.

But after a day and a night of fierce fighting, the Boss fell.

*You have defeated the Imperium.

Level up! Level 19 reached. +1 free attribute.

As the boss vanished, I looked at the floor to find my loot. Another priceless X-kryptonite inhaler. For 30 minutes, gain 50% of the abilities of a Kryptonian, but none of their weaknesses.

I stored the inhaler, beside the other 3 I found so far. Now I had a backup, in case I met a dangerous enemy.

Plus, if the System was dropping such loot, it was likely someone was producing this stuff already.

Closing my eyes, I reviewed my stats

Right! I did have to complete the Medic skills. More pain.

Medic to 100.

A rush of knowledge filled me, turning myself from a decent doctor into the greatest medical genius that ever lived. Maybe even better. The System had no flaws or missed data.

Humans would always have blind spots or biases, ignoring what was right there in front of their eyes. I could cure cancer now. Only needed a few flowers. Rare flowers.

Also, only one more level till 20. I was hoping for something good. The System was great.

*Optional quest available.

-Defeat the League_of_Assassins that assault the Queen Mansion.

Eh? But I was meeting the best girl tonight...

Wait a minute! I could do both. And see how her training progressed.

Fast! Shower, dress-up. Comb the hair! Never forget the damned hair.

I looked in the mirror, I like what I saw. Most of the teenager look was gone, instead replaced with an imposing young man, a confident billionaire with a ravishing girlfriend. And a lot of alien tech devices. And magic. Plus a genius doctor. Oh yea!

A few quick calls, and changed the venue to somewhere near the Queen mansion. They also had red lobster, rumored to be the best on the coast.

"Zimmer, limo number 5. I'm going to the Red Lobster." I demanded on my ear com.

"Sure thing, Boss. The Miss will be pleased." my security director provided for no reason.

Emilia would be pleased anyways, but Supergirl...oh well. We shall see.

I timed my arrival perfectly, only a minute before the girl arrived.

"Ladies, you look very nice tonight. Emilia, the red dress is perfect! Kara, also great." I said with a faint smile, and saw Kara pout for a microsecond, as I went and hugged my girlfriend.

"Her green dress is made by Gucci. By his own hand." Emilia pointed out with an awed voice.

"Isn't the man like, dead for 50 years?" I asked with a confused voice, and confirmed the statement with a quick Observe. It was a Gucci original indeed.

"The dress was given to a certain woman he met, before he died. And she is still alive and well." Kara said with a modest voice.

"Wonder Woman. Figures. Shall we?" I said with a genial smile, then offered them my elbows.

I entered the restaurant like a playboy noble, billionaire, inventor and industrialist, and two fantastic blonde beauties on my arms, as the usher stared in awe.

"This is the good life." Emilia noticed with a nod towards the greedy, envious glances and gasps from the other customers.

"I guess. Place looks a bit poor." I answered with a superior smile.

"Does it?" Kara asked a bit confused. She needed more training.

"Lord Wizard, it's an honor to have you as our guest. As well as these pretty ladies. Please, the red table is ready for you." the Maitre offered with a gracious voice.

I nodded nobly and followed him to our table. They already had a giant lobster steaming on a tray. Excellent.

"How are things, Kara? I heard you were having emotional problems?" I asked gently with a curious voice.

"Well on the way into fixing them. Emilia has been the best teacher. I learned a lot." Supergirl answered with a knowing voice. See? Much better than the frail goddess I first met.

She almost got the intonation right too.

"Pink wine, I suppose?" I asked Emilia without bothering to reply.

"...Be nice. And yes, pink. For a fun night!" my girlfriend decided with a warning glance towards me.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Suddenly, Kara stood still, possibly hearing the fighting going on with Oliver.

"Guys? You hear that?" she asked in a low tone.

"She means the assassins over at Queen Mansion." I whispered towards Emilia. "No, Kara. We are normal humans with normal hearing. Can't hear like dogs." I continued with a tiny shrug.

Supergirl clenched her fist, losing the tiny bit of control she worked so hard to gain.

"I am going to punch some bad people now." she growled and rose to her feet.

"Don't ruin the Gucci dress though..." I commented in a wry tone.

Kara stopped for a second, looking undecided. Gucci dress...beating some assassins. I could almost hear her neurons firing in overdrive.

I giggled inward. She was so cute. The best girl!

"I'll... go powder my nose." Kara said after taking the fateful decision.

A minute later, she teleported to her place, got dressed in her half-armor and returned ready to fight.

Emilia and myself were already on scene, using holographic suits instead.

"Hey! Three grown men, ganging on one girl?" Supergirl interjected as she landed in the middle of the fight.

"Stay out of this!" Sara Lance demanded in a harsh voice, and the three men nodded. "You may be invulnerable, but your friends and family are not, Supergirl. Plus, you aren't really invulnerable either...are you, Kryptonian?"

the chief assassin spoke in a threatening voice.

"What are we doing?" Emilia asked in a hurried tone.

"Watching your training in play? Plus, that other girl is kinda important. Something about Destiny." I mused in a soft voice, knowing that Kara would still hear me. She had keen senses, the best girl.

A knife flew towards me at lethal speeds, for a human, so the assassin heard me too. I let the knife hit me, then ignored it. -5 HP wasn't really a problem. Plus I rarely got to walk around with a knife in my heart.

"Now you're showing off. " Emilia muttered in a lovely voice. She was actually worried about me!

"You're the big bad agent. Protect the fragile wizard!" I whispered back in a snicker.

"...Really, you going to hide behind a woman now?" my girlfriend quipped as she armed her Butterfly-bracelet.

I flicked a dart at the guy who knifed me, and watched him fall like a statue to the ground. He was already dead, but it would take a few minutes for his body to realize it.

"There! I evened the odds. Go get them!" I urged Emilia and pushed her forward.

Oliver rushed to my side, as I slumped onto a wall, faking being injured. "Man, how are you still alive? That knife went through your heart!" he asked a weird voice.

"My heart was broken long ago. So, you're banging the bitch with the sticks?" I answered with faint humor.

"...Oh man. You shouldn't have said that." Oliver muttered and drew away, while Sara glared at me over the room.

Even the two remaining assassins became wary suddenly. "Oh no! She's going to drive a knife through my heart now. What a bitch!" I commented wryly.

Then a dozen things happened at once, Sara lunging and grabbing an assassin by the neck with her sticks, then broke his neck with a loud crack, while Supergirl punched the other one through the window and far into the sky.

He'll be fine, probably.

I drew out the knife and stored it away. Not a drop of blood on it either. My Gamer body was so OP.

*Nanga Parbat knife. Original League of Assassins knife, made in 1211 by the famous steel-smith Ab-Raheem.

Errr. This might be worth a lot.

*Valued at 7.1 million dollars.

Way more than my dinner tonight. Who throws away such precious stuff?

"You are the Grey Wizard." Sara spoke in a certain voice, as I was examining the knife in my inventory.

"Assassin. Canary. Destiny. You have a very curious timeline, Sara Lance. But you're still a bitch." I countered with a careless tone.

She blinked in surprise, losing most of her anger. "I don't even register as a threat. You're only trying to provoke me." she realized with her honed senses.

Maybe I should send Kara to train there. Nanda Parbat must be wonderful. Still, this gave me an idea. Could Destiny be changed?

"Here. This is a Hell Key. If you ever want to enter Hell for some reason. Or send someone there.." I offered in a mystical voice, and handed over the worthless key I got from Lucifer.

"What?" Everyone yelled in outrage, but Sara just nodded and took my key, which melted into her palm.

"How do I...nevermind." Sara muttered as she produced the key and then made it vanish again.

It wasn't actually a physical object anyway, more like a soul-link talisman, stored in your soul. Or a Gamer Storage, which was kinda similar.

"Why the hell, do you have a Hell Key?" Emilia asked in a terrified voice.

"Had to smack a big devil a million times for it, with a big stick. They are hellishly durable. So, dinner?" I spoke in a soft voice.

"I've lost my appetite." Supergirl muttered and flew away through the broken window.

"I could eat." Sara offered instead, eying me with piercing blue eyes. Like a wolf on a steak.

A second later, Supergirl returned via teleport and grabbed my elbow. "On second thought, let's eat! Our dinner is getting cold."

Emilia grabbed my other hand and we vanished, leaving Oliver confused and Sara a bit hungry.

-------------

"I'll go make us some sandwiches." he muttered in a defeated voice.

Sara drew out the Hell Key again and stared at it for a long time. "They are training Supergirl. Hardening her mind." she spoke as Oliver returned with a plate of food.

"I've noticed. Damn that Grey Wizard is scary." Oliver muttered in-between bites.

"Way worse than you know..." Sara murmured as the Key told her its story. The man beat up Lucifer Morningstar for this key, and he didn't even wanted it.

Gave it away to the first person that might need it. They say he founded the Justice League, and fought in two alien invasions.

Drawing his last breath, the poisoned assassin died on the floor, and the key lit up. "Sure thing, little one. Take him to Hell." Sara whispered towards the key.

Sara set down her plate and went to search the dead man, until she found the dart. A thing of utmost beauty and certain death. Not only curare poison, but also something to induce immense pain.

An assassin's weapon, left behind just for her.

"What is that, curare?" Oliver asked as he smelled the air and noticed the poison.

"And something else. Induces pain." Sara said with a careless voice. Pain and herself, they had an understanding by now. And so did the Grey Wizard.

"Vertigo. I thought this drug was gone." Oliver muttered in a wary voice.

'It is. The Grey Wizard has it all. To use on his enemies.' Sara thought, but stayed silent.

"I will go and speak with my father. Clean up this place, it's a mess." she said instead, then grabbed her jacket.

Oliver stared around at his ruined living-room, filled with trashed furniture and a couple dead assassins. Maybe Sara was indeed a bitch.
