The next day, I took my Assassins wives and Peach to the new underground base that HIVE has built for me.
"This is quite amazing! I flew over this part of a city a hundred times during my patrols, and never noticed it." Peach observed in a guilty voice.
"We knew the HIVE were building something, but were not sure what. However, a small town under a town? Isn't it pointless?" Nyssa asked in a confused voice.
"It is not meant to be just a town. Those frames that make a dome are meant to contain energy fields. This is a self-contained bunker. Atomic proof." I explained and showed them a hexagonal plate that could be energized into a decently powerful barrier.
"They are planning to start a nuclear apocalypse. A new Genesis. And then, rebuild the world in their image, afterwards." Peach said in a cold voice.
I just nodded towards Peach. With +1000 INT, she didn't need many clues to figure it out. Also a great help in the lab, as you can imagine.
Nyssa glanced at me, then all around. "It would take thousands of people to build this. Did you kill them?" she asked a bit curious.
"What do you think, sweet Nyssa? Am I the kind of man to let someone trying to murder my city, remain alive? Or the entire world, in this case." I mused to myself, rather rhetorically.
... She just stared blankly at me for a minute, possibly remembering her father tried the same. And got burned alive for trying.
"Still, this Damien guy would not give up so easily. They must have contingencies." Peach added with a frown.
"Wait, Damien? Damien Darhk?" Nyssa exclaimed a bit disturbed. Right, the Assassins would know about the HIVE leader.
"He leads the HIVE, right?" I asked with a shrug.
"He's also behind the string of robberies, from banks and jewelry shops. I caught dozens of his men already." Peach added with a shrug.
I looked around, noting that a underground city like this would not be cheap. Advanced tech, plus supporting thousands of HIVE members, and their families most likely. They couldn't repopulate the Earth just with armed men.
"No! I mean yes, but not important. He is a formidable mage! He must be nearby..." Nyssa exclaimed in a nervous voice.
Clap, clap.
An old man appeared from nowhere, with a dozen guards around him. "Excellent intuition, little Nyssa. I'm sorry to hear your father is already dead. I wanted to kill him myself." Damien said in a confident voice. Most likely, they came from the nexus dimension.
In a fraction of a second, my Apple suit came online, while Peach drew her visor down and became Orange. Then we rushed forward, myself towards the mage and Orange snapping the necks of these HIVE agents in a second.
But before I could reach him, the mage just held a palm out, freezing me in place. Damn, telekinesis again!
And so much stronger than me! My arm-brace fired a blast of energy towards him, only to fail against some sort of shield.
Then his Dark Magic burst out, stopping Orange before she could strike him with her extendable sword, even draining some of her lifeforce.
She tried to push off with a feeble Light of the Soul, but failed.
Okay, this was a crisis, I decided on the spot. My special cosmos wave covered me, helping me escape the telekinetic binding, and also learn how to use telekinesis properly.
Buffs, debuffs and energy blasts coursed through me at speed, pushing the mage back for a minute.
"Oh? You do have some magic skill. Even this girl has some feeble magic." Damien acknowledged with a grin.
C'mon Fortuna! You promised to help, right?
A woman laughed at the side, and Lady Fortuna revealed herself, dressed for a ball not a deadly fight. "Damien, my dear. Please, tell me all about this Genesis plan of yours. Were you going to burn me alive in nuclear fire?"
she asked in a mild, but deadly voice.
"No...I was..." he muttered in slight fear.
"The young wizard was right then. You even had a whole Ark prepared for your rebirth, right? Tevat_Noah I think? And you didn't think to invite me to this new world...Damien...that was mean" Fortuna whispered in a disappointed voice.
"You can join the HIVE too, Fortuna. Your powers would be useful." Damien proposed in a sneaky voice.
"Ah, unfortunately, my services are already paid for. But good try." Fortuna explained in a soft voice, then unleashed a hellstorm of magic like I never seen.
Orange fired her frost beam as well, while I layered telekinetic bindings to keep the mage from escaping.
"You think you have won? You forced me to do this!" Damien growled and began to change, shifting into a giant demon.
*Ding.
Primordial demon Mallus (unstable summon, possession)
"Oh, you brought your pet to play? Well, if you're playing the bad side, I can bring in the good. Come forth, Gabriel . One good fight, right?" Fortuna proclaimed in a powerful voice, and burst into light like a fountain of golden energy.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
*Ding
Archangel Gabriel, Heavenly Host. (unstable summon)
I decided to help, and threw all my SP into a large Light of the Soul, enough to let me use the Fighter limit. Time froze at lightspeed, and I launched myself with the N'th metal tonfa in one hand, and my Sword of Salvation in the other.
Combined with Gabriel's feather rain, we began damaging the demon quite badly, until he just popped, like a balloon filled with confetti.
Not even half a million hits, though. Much weaker than Lucifer. Then again, it wasn't really a full demon, only some sort of summon.
"Grey Wizard. So it wasn't a coincidence you were able to hit Lucifer. Quite amazing, for a normal human, even if enhanced with those Miracles." the archangel spoke in tingly words, that scratched at my brain from the inside.
I just nodded. Dealing with an archangel might be just as dangerous as with the Devil. Maybe more.
My invulnerable state would last a second more, then it was all over.
"If you want to test me, I have a second to spare." I offered in a polite voice.
"Oh? Maybe I will." Gabriel answered my challenge and struck me with a mighty fist. I let the archangel hit me in the face, grinning like an idiot. Didn't feel a thing.
Then I struck back, bursting his lip with my indestructible tonfa.
"...Haha! You hit like an angel indeed! But enough of that. Your special state will end soon. There is cleanup to do." Gabriel said in a dutiful voice, and began erasing the corrupted confetti left by the demon.
My wave allowed me to sense and learn what the angel did, and I began to help a little too. He turned and grinned at me for a moment, then continued his work.
"I guess Fortuna used a favor to summon you?" I asked without any ulterior motive.
"Good guess." Gabriel answered as we worked side by side to clean up.
"Might need your help sometimes. Extinction events or such." I proposed in a serious voice.
"You might." the archangel allowed in a generous voice.
"Good. I consider this a pact, since you just approved." my voice spoke without me.
Gabriel glanced at me with a surprised look. "Don't tell me I got tricked by a human."
"I won't tell anyone. Got a few dark secrets of my own too." I answered in a kind voice.
"God! Not again..." the archangel complained with a sour face.
I would have bantered with the angel more, but a second only lasts so long, and we had work to do.
As I returned to the realworld, Damien's heart was stuck on my Sword of Salvation, while Orange was ripping his head off.
hen time resumed, and I sliced the mage into a dozen bits more just to make sure. "He's more than dead, wizard. His soul is gone now." Fortuna spoke in soft words from the side.
"Even so. Sara here has returned from Hell. Death is not what it used to be." I countered and sliced more, then nodded towards Orange to stomp the body and then firebreath him.
Fortuna appeared next to Sara and raised her chin. "Indeed. Such a tragic life, my child. But you are meant to ride the waves of time and find your Destiny."
She glanced at Nyssa and just shrugged. "You have a lot to suffer, with so much darkness inside, little girl."
Peach smiled at the show, until Fortuna turned towards her, eyes a bit wide. "As for you...tragedy in life has a way of being repaid with good. The wizard tried his best, but you are more than a sister or a wife. Find your purpose in this life!"
Ah, at least she didn't reveal everything.
"Wizard, you must have the Devil's luck. Gabriel's help will be very valuable." Fortuna spoke with a faint glint of sadness, then vanished.
"What the fuck!" Nyssa exclaimed as we were alone at last.
"Well, seems Damien was a host for a demon, and Lady Fortuna called an angel to help. We won!" I exclaimed in a cheerful voice.
"I need a drink, husband. And my brains fucked." Sara demanded with a glint of horny intent.
"I'm down to fuck." Peach added with a wry voice.
Nyssa was the last one, so she smiled cutely. "Daddy can do anything to me."
My dick got hard instantly. "We have plenty of beds in these houses." I pointed out with a smile.
In a minute, we were all naked piled up in one bed. Being married was great!
In the morning, I checked my new stats with a wide grin.
