As I teleported out of the prison cell, constructed without doors or windows, my droid Deimos waited for me with good news.
"Lord Wizard, I scanned the approaching Kryptonian frigate. There are two more females on board, beside several males. If you plan to save the Kryptonian race, they would be great incubators for more children." Deimos spoke in an official tone.
"Phobos and Sentry?" I asked in a curious voice.
"We agree, Lord Wizard. However, you need to be warned these females are the result of a genetic engineering procedure for perfect soldiers, by the Warrior_Guild . They will try to kill you, at the earliest opportunity, such as gaining yellow sun powers." Phobos answered on my com.
"Even so, I have to try. Exterminating a few criminals is one thing, an entire race is different. I will do my best to save the legacy of Krypton, for my wife. Kara is already feeling lonely among humans." I answered with a sad voice.
"A worthy cause, Lord Wizard. We will support you as much as we can." Sentry spoke next, sounding really supportive. Then again, I did program Sentry with a hint of a robotic nanny, such that it could take care of Kara and the baby while I was away.
"Phobos, make sure you target any dropships or other craft detaching from Black Zero. We don't want some loose Kryptonian criminals wrecking the planet, do we?" I asked in a rhetorical voice.
"...Capturing the ships would be more advantageous, Lord Wizard." Phobos argued in a logical voice.
"Yes, but no. Capturing one of the dropships is sufficient to create more. However, Earth needs to see our United Earth Fleet in action, defending the planet from invasion. Beams shooting, shields flaring, explosions..." I said in a patient tone.
"I will prepare the teleportation trackers then. We should retrieve the females for impregnation." Deimos said in an understanding voice.
"And, I captured another power armor suit. Sentry, you're the lucky winner." I said and retrieved the spare armor from storage.
Deimos came over to scan it, then teleported it down to Appletown for Sentry. "That was the armor of Nam-Ek . The strongest Kryptonian of all. Sentry will be happy to wear it." my droid said in an appreciative voice.
I walked towards the bridge, where the crew was preparing for fleet combat. Although only the large cruiser and one escort were operational for now, I was quite certain in the result of the coming battle.
I had two limits ready, plus an unused Fate point.
Just wasn't certain what to use the Fate point for. More Magic was a no brainer, but perhaps I did need more brains.
Even then, I hesitated between INT or WIS. Both would be very useful, but which one first?
I sat down to think, as the ships got closer. "Shields at maximum, point-defense online. Forward cannons, ready to fire!" the crew announced as we reached weapons range.
Phobos glanced at me from its command throne, and waited.
"This is General Zod, commander of the Sword of Rao. Daxam ships, you are not a match for a Kryptonian assault frigate. Surrender now, or be destroyed." a message came from the Black Zero.
"This is Fleet Admiral Phobos, of the United Earth Fleet. Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. Your technology will be assimilated into our own. Resistance is futile." my droid spoke in a certain Borg voice, making me giggle inside.
"Both targets locked, beginning teleports." Deimos spoke on my com, and proceeded to do just that, teleporting the precious females into their waiting cells, while their power armor was detached and moved to our armory.
"They are powering up their weapons! Incoming fire!" a former ARGUS agent shouted a bit nervous. Two Kryptonian cannons fired from the frigate and hit us straight on.
"Shields down to 70%! A few more hits and we will take hull damage!"
"Return fire! Launch the drones as well." Phobos commanded in a commanding voice.
Red beams fired back at the enemy frigate, while drone dispensers began to dispense various types of decoy and jamming drones.
"Dropship launch detected! One enemy on board!" the tactical officer announced, then tapped the holoscreen to send the data to our escort.
"We see the dropship now, Earth's Hope. Pursuit course engaged." the Captain of our escort ship spoke next, and veered off course to chase after the fast dropship.
"Secondary launch detected. Another dropship!"
We were out of escorts, for now. Phobos calculated the optimal battleplan in a millisecond. "Fire C and D batteries at the second dropship!"
The first shot struck the Kryptonian Dropship's shield, while the second hit something vital as the dropship exploded violently.
Return fire from the frigate shook our cruiser. "Shields down to 40%!" the defense officer yelled, a bit nervous.
"Rotate the ship 90 degrees and refresh the shields on the port side." Phobos spoke in a metallic voice.
"Another Dropship launch, Admiral. It seems empty!" the tactical officer reported as he checked his scanners.
Deimos stood up from its station and looked around, then nodded towards me. "Away Team 6, with me. Teleporting in two, one..." and vanished along with 5 former SEALs wearing my own brand of power armor.
"Target lock re-acquired. Firing A and B batteries at the frigate!" the weapons officer, formerly from DEO spoke in a measured voice.
"Dropship was rigged for remote detonation. Extracting now." Deimos spoke on my com, and teleported back just as the empty Dropship exploded.
"First dropship damaged. It is crash-landing now, towards the Indian Ocean..." The escort ship announced in a victorious tone.

I traced the descent course with curious eyes. Right in Madagascar, my own backyard since a day ago.
"Black Zero is splitting apart! No, wait. It is separating in two. The smaller segment is heading for Madagascar as well. Three life signatures on board." the tactical officer said in a wary voice.
"That segment is a world engine, Grey Wizard. It would terraform Earth into a New Krypton, while killing everyone on Earth at the same time." Phobos said in a knowing voice.
"Captain Todd, engage the world engine." I spoke for the first time.
"As you command, Grey Wizard. Adjusting new course. Intercepting." the escort's Captain answered in a military voice, as expected from someone who commanded a Navy warship for a while.
"Incoming fire! Shields at 10%. Minor structural damage on decks 5 through 9." the defense officer reported as his screen lit up with yellow warnings.
"Away Teams 1 through 5, with me. Deimos, send us in." I ordered as I stood up and took out my twin chaingun, already famous for besting another invader.
In a flash of light, 25 former SEALs and me arrived on the Black Zero, and began shooting at once.
Out of the initial ten Kryptonians of the Sword of Rao, three were women and already captured, while one was dead by my Dark Magic. Four more were heading towards Madagascar, which left only two on the frigate.
General Zod and his loyal subordinate Tor-An .
Tor-An lasted 0.5 seconds while my chaingun chewed through his shields and armor, at 12000 rounds/ minute then he was riddled with .50 cal bullets and died.
As I passed his mauled body, by I made sure to dust him with my Dark Magic, just in case resurrections would come in play. People didn't die that well in this comics universe.
Zod was already punching my teams into scrap, punting 5 of my men into the walls, and dodged my chaingun fire with ease. But as fast and strong as he was, like all Kryptonians he was weak to Magic.
And what a surprise, I was also a wizard.
I held him still with telekinesis, and held the trigger for a whole second. His armor plates shattered under the hail of bullets, while my wounded SEALs were being teleported directly to sick bay.
"I think we got him, Grey Wizard." A nearby SEAL said in a proud voice.
I sighed and dusted his body with Dark Magic too, while storing my chaingun. "Best to double tap this sort of aliens." I explained in a polite voice.
Some twenty SEALs laughed at my joke. I did far more than double tap the guy. Maybe 10000 taps, plus dusting the remains. "Well, we got this General Zod. And their frigate, it seems." Major Kincaid observed in a clever voice.
"Secure my new ship, everyone. I'll take Deimos and Team 6 to the world engine." I announced and vanished, only to reappear on the world engine with my spare team.
As you might expect, Team 6 was far better trained, equipped and enhanced by Miracles. We didn't have a dog, but we had Deimos to act as bomb sniffer.
"Lord Wizard. There is a green-armored person shooting a chain gun at the first dropship. Green kryptonite bullets." Phobos warned me as we engaged the three Kryptonians on the engine. Well, two were warriors, the third was not.
Jax-Ur was the mad scientist type, even now typing commands into his holofield computer.
"Energy and gravimetric build-up detected." Deimos warned me as the two Kryptonian soldiers rushed me, hoping to delay me from reaching their scientist.
Fine! Limit break.
I caught the two Kryptonians by their necks, and simply snapped them. Then I grabbed the mad scientist and placed a mind-control cap/memory scanner on his bald head. "Stop the world engine now." I demanded in a wary tone.
A second later, he did so, dialing some strange waves on the control console. Thank God for Dominator tech.
I snapped his neck too, then teleported down, where Green Lantern was trying to fight a Kryptonian, by smashing him with a energy construct shaped like a flyswatter.
It worked just as well as you may imagine, as Hal Jordan's face was bloody and battered. I grabbed the last guy and ripped his head off.
The skyscraper-sized flyswatter shattered as it struck my invincible body, then my limit ended.
"Owwww! Why is everyone hitting me?" I yelled in an angry voice, after storing my armor and returning to my Grey Wizard robes.
"Grey Wizard? Didn't see you, I was fighting this Kryptonian guy..." Green Lantern muttered a bit ashamed for hitting a fellow hero, then froze. He probably noticed the blood-leaking head I held in my hand.
"You mean this one, called Dev-Em? Yeah I got a bit angry and my hand slipped. They were trying to use that giant world engine to kill everyone on Earth. Anyways, maybe you can help now. Ask the ring if it can configure the terraforming engine to make Earth-type planets instead. We could make a New Earth out of Venus." I said in a light, but serious voice.
The Green Lantern stared at his ring, then up towards the red-glowing world engine. "It says it's possible."
"So, get on with it! A flyswatter, really?" I grumbled and teleported away.
Hal Jordan stared at his ring again. "Dev_Em huh? He was jumping around like a fly..."
I was already on board the new Earth Engine, trying to figure out how to stop it from crash-landing onto Madagascar as well.
A million tons of engines would make a big boom at orbital speed.
