Fortuna

"I'll be so bored while you work in the lab. Can I come too?" Kara asked a few days later.

I glanced at Peach, and shrugged. "You can come. But, what is your area of expertise? Biology, Chemistry, Computers? Maybe Magic?" I asked as I opened my holomenu to add Supergirl to my Applebase transport list.

Kara blinked and slumped in her chair. "I am strong."

I just smiled and teleported the three of us at Applebase, where there was no yellow sun. Bernard's star was a red dwarf instead.

"...What is happening?" Supergirl asked in an angry voice.

"There's a red sun in this star system. Which means you'll get very angry and violent. Also, possibly more horny and uninhibited." I explained with a kind voice, and went back to work, while Peach returned to her 3D Forge to work on more weird devices and items, some of them mundane, others imbued with magic circuits.

Peach threw an Apple tablet at Kara. "Read this, sister. I'll call you when I need metal bends and other feats of superstrength."

"Computing for dummies?" Kara yelled in even more anger.

"Press the blue button, Kara. Then read that tablet. I wrote it myself." I said in a helpful voice, and my quantum foam settled back into shape for the next experiment.

Only..."I need someone to suck me off, for science." I asked in a lighter voice. I did need some Apple Juice to test the next formula.

"I'm busy! Ask the new girl." Peach yelled from her Forge.

Kara walked beside me, now in her unpowered state, thus only 10 times stronger than a human. "You're doing science with your juice, Wizard?" she asked a bit confused.

"Indeed. Well, quasi-science to be fair. My juice is magical somewhat, thus adding some of it to a formula might produce interesting effects." I explained in a serious tone.

Kara measured me with a doubtful look. "I don't want to know, what exactly you mix in your Miracles. But if I can help, I will do it. For science!" she declared proudly, then gobbled my dick in one go.

I saw Emilia pop her thumb up, for a lucky trial.

Setting up the experiment's conditions took me a while, even at my new speed, but Kara worked hard and managed to obtain a cup of juice after an hour.

A hundred drops in different vials, centrifuge via superspeed, and then I immersed the vial tray in to the quantum foam, and just waited.

"Shouldn't you utter some spell?" Kara asked a bit bored.

I was an idiot, but didn't have to admit it. "Not yet, sweet tits." I muttered while face-slapping myself.

Why did a Kryptonian with no notion of magic, or science, was able to point out what I was missing?

Scrolling through my mental library of spells, I picked Heal, Fortify and Sage to imbue in 30 vials each, while keeping 10 vials as a control source.

A few minutes later, the leptons bonded into new structures, and repelled bosons as a result. Mana particles sparkled and settled over 90 vials.

"What is it, Pef? Another poison, instead of a cure?" Peach asked as I sat down and began drinking whiskey a bit shaken.

"I'm not sure what it is. I'll go ask Lady Fortuna." I said as I dressed as a wealthy lord, then teleported to Hub City.

"Welcome, Lord Wizard." The usher said in a friendly voice, and escorted me personally to meet his boss.

In a minute, I found myself in the nexus chamber, this time holding two idols. One of them was supposed to be mine!

"Lord Wizard, it seems I was faster than you, despite your little assassins scouring the Earth for the Khushu Idol." Fortuna proclaimed in a victorious tone.

I just opened my palm, and produced the Sage 5.0 vial. It was glowing with a strange violet light from inside, almost like showing off its importance.

"I was busy in my lab, Lady Fortuna. An idol can amplify my Magic, but it cannot bestow it on another. This potion can." I said while jingling the vial lightly.

Fortuna stared transfixed at my hand. "By Satan and Lucifer combined! You created a real Miracle."

"Now I can indeed create a school for magic children. You can teach Defense agaisnt the Dark Arts or something." I said and set up a few more vials on the table.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

"They have something like that in China, some Taoist pills that have the same glow, called Heaven Pills. Master Laotzi made some Heaven Pills, a thousand years ago, each worth as much a country. Or at least a big city like mine." Fortuna said in a greedy voice.

"Worth a country? Maybe not so much. Only an ugly idol like that one." I pointed towards the head-sized sculpture of a head, with feathers.

Fortuna glanced at my 4 vials, each glowing a different color. "Grass green, must be healing or regeneration. Earth brown, defense or durability. The last one, a mix of them?" she asked a bit intimidated.

+1 Intimidation.

"What do you say, Lady Fortuna? Worth a small trade?" I wondered as I took out a bottle and poured some for both of us.

"T-that's not how you negotiate with a powerful shaman, young one. You can't simply ask for an idol!" Fortuna complained in a weak voice.

+1 Persuasion.

"The whiskey is very good too. Imported from Scotland." I added as a reasonable reason.

Fortuna gulped her drink and wordlessly asked for more. "I will go to Hell for this." she muttered in her glass.

Was she still talking about the vial? "You're immortal though. One idol or two, don't mater. But a friend, might be helpful one day."

"Not that. You're right, I only grabbed the idol so I could fleece you of another Miracle or something. You killed Damien, so it's rightly yours." Fortuna muttered and gulped another glass.

"Ah, you mean who to use the potion on? A young child would be best. More time to learn magic while the brain is malleable. I had a lot of trouble at my age." I realized after a minute.

"Exactly! A new mage would mean a shift of Fate, but the consequences are more dire if you abduct a kid and dose him unwillingly. Gabriel will drop me like hot iron." Fortuna grumbled and drank one more glass rapidly.

+1 Carouse

"Abduct a kid? Are you retarded?" I asked before I could shut my mouth.

"Oh? You have a another plan, wise wizard?" Fortuna asked in a sour voice.

"Well, you should either make one, or adopt a child. It's legal, if you're rich. And quite respectable too, saving a kid from poverty in the streets." I proposed in a spark of genius.

Lady Fortuna raised a finger to object, then realized i had a good point. Her eyes became calculating once more.

"Hmmm. If the child is young enough, and same race...we could pass as relatives. They let you pick which one, like which lobster to boil?" she asked a bit curious.

Don't compare a kid with a lobster, crazy woman! Not when boiling is involved.

"Exactly like that, but more humane. They'll have a list of pictures, then you get to visit an orphanage to confirm the pick. Might even pick two. If they're siblings and such." I added for no reason.

"Marvelous! I'll have Shark...not him. Crabs can hire a lawyer and settle this. Maybe we can find twins!" Fortuna exclaimed in a satisfied voice.

"And some books on raising human kids too. You know, wash and feed them every day. Hold them in your arms for hours...sing them lullabyes." I said with a strange feeling Fortuna was rather divested from humanity, past some thousands years or so.

"Errr. I can hire some women for that, right?" she asked a bit nervous.

"Yes, and you certainly should hire help. But if you want to pose as a mother, you also have to act like one. Say 4 hours a day, let the kid feel your warmth. I know it sounds hard, but it's much like a cat. You get used to it." I concluded my advice in a kinder voice.

"You will make a great father for your kids, Wizard. Seems you know what to do already." Fortuna mused in a thoughtful voice, measuring me from head to toe.

*Affection +1.

Oh NO! No way.

"I'll just grab my idol and go figure out how to setup my nexus under Star City." I said in a hurry and lunged for the idol, only to be locked in place with water magic.

"Don't run yet, young Wizard. I'll have to come with you, or that Star City might sink a few miles. Or do you know how to bind ley lines already?" Fortuna asked in a small laugh.

I turned around to see what was holding me, and found a water dragon 100 meters tall, with its tail wrapped around my belly.

Damn it. She already jailbroke the spell to make a Kaiju. Possibly added some Lazarus water to my dragon spell. I had to test that now.

"Seems I have to accept your help, either way." I admitted a bit sad.

"Haha. You could struggle a little." she offered generously.

"I don't have my idol yet. I could only run without it." I muttered in a bit of shame.

Lady Fortuna nodded, looking pleased. She still won today.
