Mi-Yung at least helps with something, unlike what William expected, who is little in the distraught.
He always thinks of himself as a level-headed person, but it seems Mi-Yung is too effective in her acts. William could not help but go along with her information since it all seems realistic.
“So, are you gonna follow me to the library?” Mi-Yung asks with an open invitation. It is safe to say that she is not giving William any chances to refute, and that… is true.
“Alright, I trust your words. But I am not following you for the sake of talks. I want to learn the books I already found out, so I will have plenty of work to be done.” William, at last, finds a good enough reason to lessen any worries about the prospect of her coming with him.
“Still not trusting me… Was Luke’s impression that bad?” Mi-Yung scowls inside with helplessness. Being direct is also one of her many good sides, while Luke likes it as well. She hopes to befriend William, so he would not fall into the pit of obscurity.
Though, the true reason for William's arrival was actually provided by someone else other than the Mi-Yung. She, after all, has no power to summon an MI-900 helicopter to travel to camp Roshwell. That is thousands upon thousands of miles away in Canada, which is too far away.
That one, on the other hand, was provided by someone related to the ownership of that helicopter. The Emblem Academy, which Mi-Yung is not part of, but used to be one of the instructors there. Right now, she has much better and more lucrative work in the Federation, while being the secretary of the General Division. Assembly is above her rules.
Many issues and problems stem from such a position. That being the missions she has to carry from time to time for the Federation and the people at the Assembly.
“YEY! I knew you would let me, and even if you would not, I would go anyway.” Mi-Yung cheers herself up and gets out of the seat.
“R-really… why are you doing this all for this… Whatever you are doing?”
“Because I never had a chance to repay your father. Call it whatever you want.” Mi-Yung says while she is already ready to move out.
William has not much chance to retaliate against her words. It is a little reminder for him and madame Anderson, who have a very firm tone about herself, but William long ago became aware of her kind heart.
Now, he could start to uncover whether the deal with Mi-Yung is a good idea or not. He would rather let this be, and act alone, until the Examination, where he would get to see what kind of talent he actually has.
Taking his bottle, and putting on his new pair of shoes, William is ready to move on to his new day.
Mi-Yung wearing the same clothes radiates an aura of authority. Yet at the same time, a very casual and friendliness causes her to be approachable. One would not guess she is a high-rank Walker at all.
Moving out of the door, William follows her fast walking pace. It is not that easy, since she has quite long legs which cause her being a few inches taller than himself.
“Are we in a hurry?” William asks as he was not.
“I am walking. You are only slow. I swear… You need to train a little, or are you a chicken?”
“Ch-ch-chicken…” Willaim mumbles while she sounds more unreasonable than ever.
“I am not a chicken, but nothing will come out of this walking pace. There is no need to hurry.” Gritting his teeth, he almost spits these words in an unyielding tone.
Mi-Yung shakes her head and walks straight to William and puts her both hands around his shoulders.
All of sudden, an enormous mountain of force enters William’s body and shudders his whole being. Falling to his knees, he watches in amazement as Mi-Yung glances at him from higher ground.
“Not that bad. You pass my first test.” She smirks in hidden meaning.
“I… I don’t want to be your teacher….” William mumbles in unwillingness.
“What? Have I heard something?”
“…”
“Get up, will you? I teased you a bit. You must have worked hard Outside to make a living. Though, it is not enough for anything. I am wondering what kind of Emblem you will have. Considering your Father… or mother…” Mi-Yung states while the inaudible last word she muttered behind her back, was not heard by William.
“I don’t want to hear about it unless you will talk to me in significant detail about the Walkers, or the examinations.” William grits his teeth, and tries to solve his lack of wisdom with this idea of his.
It falls to the deaf ear of Mi-Yung, who doesn't listen to his tries. She keeps on walking at a fast pace as if pondering something. Following through the path towards the library, there would be no way for her to get lost. She walks in a leading position, as the road towards the library is quite well-known.
The road has been barren of people with occasional riders on bikes, while Mi-Yung is not talking much throughout this journey. Everything fell short amidst the struggle of William, who feels like he makes a slight mistake with coming with her.
It has already started, so all he could do is spend his time doing whatever he wants in the library. The full access card is still in his pocket. Mi-Yung tossed it back when they were finished with their discussion at home.
It takes a little over 10 minutes, as the pace they walk is not the slowest. William looks at the same old Grand Library of the Federation in anticipation, while Mi-Yung sight to herself whether she is too forceful.
In fact, she still has plenty of work to do, but taking a day off is not a problem for her. As a rank 6 Walker, she can do a lot of things without fear of reputation or repercussion from impacting whatever career she has.
“It is my 4th day, let’s go at it again.” He cheers himself up and walks behind Mi-Yung to the Library.
To no one's surprise, Ellie is already standing beyond the welcoming gate as an employee of this institution.
At the moment, she is bowing in a deep manner toward Mi-Yung, who walked inside first.
“Greetings, miss Mi-Yung. It has been a while since your last visit.” She says as her bow remains still.
“Well, I was kind of busy, Ellie. Are you already working as an attendant here? It hasn't even been that long since you started the apprenticeship here.” Mi-Yung lifts Ellie up with her hand and caresses her face with a warm smile.
“Yea? I worked quite hard on this. I am proud of myself.” Ellie puffs her chest and announces her accomplishment. It makes Mi-Yung chuckle with a proud look at this girl. She knows her for some time. From time to time, Mi-Yung has to reach out for certain criteria for her mission. The Library is the best source of much-needed information that are not at all times available for the institutions she is part of.
William stands behind them while unsure what sort of relationship those two have. Not like it matters to him that much. It is like everything that involves people. He could not guess too much about them, since he had always had a single friend. Figuring out the relationship or whatnot, he was never been one to understand them too much.
“Oh, William?” Ellie notices the boy who spent the last couple of days with her. In the same clothes as usual. He would not go unnoticed by her for obvious reasons.
“Hello, Ellie. I go at it again. Though, without you, this time around.” William greets her with the truth.
Mi-Yung faces both of them and notices the intricacies that only she became aware of at the moment.
“Don’t tell me the one who showed you the Library is Ellie?” she asks.
“Well, I had no need to be specific. What do you expect anyway from forcing yourself like this?”
“You… I am not forcing myself at all.” Mi-Yung says with a bothered expression.
“M-miss Mi-Yung knows William?” Ellie asks. Her eyes widened in surprise. She knows the standing of the Mi-Yung in the Federation quite well, and for her to be with William. What sort of problem did he cause? What is this about? She couldn't figure it out, but her interest couldn't be stronger. While not the strongest, or very impressive Walker, Mi-Yung has been a long-standing member of the Assembly. And she even has the corresponding status when it comes to the Federation as a part of the General Division.
She doesn't have a lot of time on her hands to care about young Walkers and Ellie knows it. To move issues away while being under the jurisdiction of the powerful people of the Federation. It must have been a big deal for her to forget her work. Those monsters of the Walkers what are her superiors would trample over Mi-Yung with gaze alone.
“Yes. I am partly responsible for him coming to the Federation. I thought it would be an interesting idea to follow him today… but it seems he already has quite an impressive companion for himself.” Mi-Yung says with a smile, that shot at Ellie.
Ellie chuckles in awkward manner and says. “Miss… I am still an employee here. Burton would not be fine with it any longer.”
“I don’t care in particular what sort of problem he has. I came here today to teach some things to William.”
“Teach… I see. I am sure miss Mi-Yung must have good intentions in mind for William. He should learn a lot more from you.” Ellie says while a bit of disappointment creeps into her feelings.
“Well, the boy is not trusting me, so I am surprised the cause is you, Ellie.” Mi-Yung glances back and forth from them.
“I am not interested in any issues here. I am going up.” William walks around those two and reaches the upper floors from the staircase. Leaving the pair of Mi-Yung and Ellie to their fated gaze at his back.
Watching him leave like this, Ellie clenches her little fist behind her back, while looking at the grinning Mi-Yung in front of her face.
“You like him, don’t you?” she asks with a mischievous smile
“I… won’t tell.”
“Good, little girl. Though, it is a little brave of you to get your eyes on a young Walker.”
Ellie jolts her eyes to the ground, but Mi-Yung lifts her chin up with her pointer finger. Blushing a little, she is not willing to admit to her any of her feelings. Yet, she is not something she can go against. Her mind is like an open book to this beautiful Walker.
“Being young is super nice indeed. I am wondering what would William think. Heheheh.”
“He… he is not interested. His mind is still full of learning from the library and getting somewhere… with this. Or…”
“… or it doesn't matter at all. Ellie, I am definitely not against you. Look at yourself. You can keep on trying and perhaps he will like you back. I don’t know him that well for now, but he seems like an honest boy, with naivety and cluelessness. Good luck, Ellie.” Mi-Yung says at last and walks out to reach William. Letting her palm go from Ellie's face, who remains skeptical about this whole ordeal.
Ellie is finally forcing her eyes up to look out, but those two are already far away.
“Is… Have I been too excited? Too expectant? Am I liking William?”
Her mind is in shambles. She won't know what to do, but she has a job, so the rest of the day has to be spent here. Although, with her hesitant and worse mood, it would go slower than ever.
Up above, William walks toward the second floor while Mi-Yung is already behind his back.
