He looks at me smiling wild, "Oh wow, you were a delight. Your light is gone." He caresses my cheek, "Ohhh, I hate this part. You have nothing else I can take." He raises his long blade and stabs me as the world gets darker around me.
Kaylin shouts, "He looked like what we shot down with the laser, that monstrosity! That thing annihilated everything on the ground! " "He's solving-" A wave comes over me. I grab my head, "Ahhh, shit." I groan, knock on my forehead. A whirring noise screams around the room, I cover my ears as Kaylin lowers me to my knees, "What's wrong?!" The whirring gets more intense, "Kaylin! Nuclear anomalies-" I scream as they abruptly stop. The lights go off and I float up, the shades open, the sun brings us back into the light, we're all floating.
Kaylin shouts, "What happened!?" Yellow lights come on and we all bang against the floor. Everyone groans as the speakers announce, Reserve power in effect. Everyone rushes back to their seats everyone starts shouting status reports, Kaylin shouts, "Our reactor!?" They all shut up, an old man in glasses speaks, "Sir, the reactor just died." "That's impossib-" He takes a second, Impossible's the new Monday. "How much fuel do we have?" Another man sighs, "There are leaks in all the tanks." "More of the sectors locked down are becoming uninhabitable as we speak." "Cold of space, no insulation, soldiers will freeze to death if they don't suffocate first." Kaylin looks at me, "Get Lasal on the comms, now! Have all teams secure every power and fuel facility we still have!"
