Running through the apartment complex with the heavy pattering of rain from her roof, I finally slam my door open. The whole wall cracks away, falling forward. I jump back and cover my face, dust gets kicked up following the loud thud, "Jeanie?!" My room's completely trashed, Didn't take the storm too well. In our small kitchen, I find her in a fetal position, "Jeanie!"
Screaming comes from the next room over, then what sounds like a gun going off, "Jeanie, get up, we need to get out of here!" She pushes me away before I could touch her shoulders. She starts having a seizure on he floor. Her body turns clear, then slowly starts melting into a puddle.
I move my hands through what's left of her, "No, please, not Jeanie!" The puddle bubbles four times, mimicking, "I love you too." She melts down into a rather large puddle of clear liquid, "Water?" I put my hand to my forehead, "This is a dream. A dream!"
Pinching my arm, I feel pain, I even slap my own face and I'm STILL here. My neighbor's wife comes in, "Hungry.." I turn around. Her mouth, covered in blood, dripping down her gown. "Stay the fuck back!" Looking around in the kitchen, I run and grab a knife.
Her arms and her fingers turn sharp and black. "Hungry! I'm hungry!" "I-I-have meat in the fridge!" She cracks her neck and it turns black, her teeth turn sharp. "Alive!" She bolts to me and I stab her in her neck repeatedly, but she refuses to go down. I grab her head as she leans forward.

Her teeth chomp and clunk, desperately. "Get away from him!" Glancing past her head, I see Jeanie. The neighbor turns around and bolts to her, stabbing her in the gut. She drags the creature to the balcony and throws her off with a shout.
I can't help but stare at her torso. It's clear, no heart, no organs. Jeanie's body turns normal and then she stares at me, locked in place. "What's happened to me, Jan?!" "I don't know, are you ok?!" Her whole body starts shaking.
"I don't know! I'm scared!" Her arms turn to water, they work like tendrils. "Calm down." Walking to her, she shakes her head at me, "Calm down Jeanie. Let's figure out what's happ-" I hear gunshots, then tanks roll down our street.
"I don't want this, I don't want it." Soldiers enter the building. She places her hands on my shoulders, "The army's coming in here, Jan. They'll kill me!" As she gets closer, I kiss her, "Not if we act normal, we surrender and you keep that under control."
Soldiers finally get up to the fourth floor, "UGAA! Do not resist!" They get to the end and point their guns at us. "Are you infected?" "No we're no-" They throw us handcuffs, "Put em on, or we'll shoot!" We quickly put them on and they grab us, "Walk out the building! Now!" We start walking down the steps, Jeanie jumps at the gunshots above us, screams.
"We're coming down with a couple." *Infected?* "No, sir." The light shines as we exit the building. Armored cars and soldiers greet us, "Get in the truck." I shake my head, "Why?" "Mandatory Evacuation. Now go." Just before Jeanie gets in behind me, her arms turn to water, the cuffs simply fall off and hit the ground, almost in slow motion.
She looks at me with her wide eyes, "Demon! Open fire!" "No!" When they raise their rifles, I jump out of the vehicle and quickly push her away. I feel the bullets go into me and I fall to the floor. More gunshots are heard and then Jeanie falls on top of me.
