I had a peculiar encounter in the market today.

I was browsing through the potions section, intending to buy several speed-enhancers, when I bumped into an old man at the same stall. From the way he was dressed in brilliant scarlet robes, I knew at once that he was a fire mage.

He was friendly and had an amiable personality. He apologized at once, even though it was I who was at fault for being too preoccupied with my shopping. And we talked briefly over the best potions to buy. He was knowledgeable about the various effects and side effects, and he helped me pick those that would be useful. He even gotten some discount, much to my gratitude

I did not get his name. But when it was time for us to go our separate ways, he said something strange.

What did he mean by that? He was long gone before I could ask, and the others are already calling for me by then. I told them what had transpired, and even they were as baffled as I was. It seems there is more to this kingdom’s history than what the books tell.
