Day 4,653

Day 4,653

Taking care of two Aloraks proved to be no easy task.

The monsters are demanding, loud, and delicate. They are so small that they can fit inside my hand, but they eat twice as much food as their own weight. Fortunately, most of their diet consists of lizards and bugs, of which there are plenty in the city. We would not worry much about feeding them until they grow larger.

However, that would take time, and we still need money. In the end, some of us decided to find a job we do best: slaying monsters. Despite the abundant of monster breeders and tamers, not all of the beasts can be tamed, and their numbers still have to be controlled.

We were quickly accepted into a Hunter’s Guild—our counterpart here in Thuron. Apparently, Hunters are rare, so the salary is high. There is not much demand for the profession in a kingdom relying on monsters.

Our first mission was easy—exterminate a pack of direwolves on the plains east of the city—something we have done plenty of times. We returned before sunset, got our payment, then celebrated our success. It was refreshing in a way, and it reminded me of my life back in the Empire.

There is still much to be done before we can truly fulfill our goal in this kingdom, and we don’t know how long we will be staying here. But I have high hopes for our future.
