Day 4,590
Another attack occurred less than three hours ago.
This was to be expected. As we head deeper into the heart of the Untamed Lands, monster attacks will get frequent. We are now in their territory, their nesting and hunting grounds.
We still have yet to find fresh signs of the monster horde that had attacked Arlonia, but the ones who raided us this evening—Maharaks, half-lion half-ravens—seemed to be part of them. They attacked our supply wagons as usual; thankfully, we drove them easily this time due to our vigilance, and we only suffered ten casualties.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
With the threat repelled, we returned to our posts, though our guard remained high.
After that, our research team delivered another report regarding the maps and journals we've gotten. And it seemed they made some progress.
It turned out Thuron was a rival of Urnos, and the two nations had been locked in a vicious war for hundreds of years; Urnos with its trained armies and technology, Thuron with its mages… and monsters.
The revelation was a terrible shock to us, and we spent the next five minutes in stunned silence. Did someone survive the war? Perhaps a descendant, or some long lost lineage. Why were they attacking us? And why were the monsters possessed heightened intelligence?
So many questions still remained. But we plan to unearth more secrets still lurking within the journals’ pages.
