Day 4,573
The next day brought several changes to our security arrangements.
First, the supply lines are now in the middle, instead of trailing in the rear limes. This should have been our setup from the very first day, but Adren placed them at the rear to ensure a smooth journey; after all, the carts are pulled by horses, and our main force would be left behind if the carts went first.

Second, there will be both a rear guard and vanguard, aside from the scouting parties, to ensure our security in both ends.
All of us agreed to these arrangements, and I volunteered to ride with the vanguard, along with Eina and several of our best Slayers. Fortunately, we encountered no trouble for the rest of the day. And though I’m glad, something else is nagging at me. A feeling of dread I cannot place.
By nightfall, we set up camp on a glade. It doesn’t offer us much protection, but we’ve doubled our sentries and patrols, so we are prepared for whatever may come.
