Ephemeral (adjective): lasting only a brief time; short-lived
The dishes were driving her insane. She wasn’t sure what grudge cheese could possibly have against her, but the gooey yellow blob clinging onto the plate for dear life must be hating her.
She angrily snatched the dish soap and drained it of another lather. With a new wave of frustrated strength, her hands found the energy to continue grinding at the clutter with a sponge.

Defeated, the sponge was slammed miserably into the sink. The young woman consciously resisted the urge to tear out her hair and reached for the dish soap again–
Bubbles.
Her previous dump must’ve left a layer of soap at the entrance, for the second her hand gripped the bottle, a herd of tiny bubbles erupted from its tip.
Sailing into the air, the crowd of them knocked around and stuck to cupboards, lights, and each other. Each of their glossy surfaces reflected a small image of the kitchen and the bright green eyes of the young woman washing dishes.
A little laugh flew from her throat.
