Bashment

Bashment (noun): a large party or dance

The overhead chandeliers glistened like lucid stars, giving the spacious ballroom a heavenly aura. Flowing throughout the room were the soft riffs of classical music from the record player. Best of all were the glowing treats served on silver platters: dog food.

It was much to the partygoers’ satisfaction.

The crowd of corgis, German shepherds, golden retrievers, bulldogs, beagles, and nearly every dog breed known to man, were scrambling across the dance floor in their tiny dresses and suits. One Rottweiler looked like a living Greek goddess with its billowing white skirts, but the Pomeranian tripping over its neck tie wasn’t so lucky.

Upon the surging climax of the song, a chorus of howls and barks rose into the air. They might not speak human language, but they understood the magic in music.

The night grew on, and the party became gradually more… festive. Chaos was beginning to unleash its powers as plates of treats toppled and delicate costumes tore, but luckily, the reception of puppies weren’t bothered at all.

Ah… there seemed to be a pile of suspicious pale-yellow liquid in the center of the dance floor.
