Curio

Curio (noun): a rare, unusual, or intriguing object

The garden was absolutely delightful.

Colorful and warm, the last remnants of springtime’s magic breathed life through every leaf and every petal. The canvas of greenery carried many splashes of small red blossoms, as if an artist had carelessly splattered a paintbrush over his work.

What intrigued the little green bird the most, was the elegant birdhouse in the center of the blooming flora.

It was as vibrant as every shade of the garden’s flowers, yet its fascinating geometric build made it stand out. A flicker of sunlight flashed through the little window on its front, as if winking at the bird to come in.

Of course, the green bird complied.

How amazing! The interior of the birdhouse was already lined with fine cotton and several strands of lovely-smelling herbs. Amused, the little bird recognized the enchanting scents of lavender and rosemary.

The fluffy cotton all around made the little green bird wonder. It had just spent the prior night huddled under a cold bush, shivering in the untimely rain. Was this what it’s like to have a home?

Under the comforting hands of the afternoon sun, the green bird snuggled into the welcoming nest.
