Bimble

Bimble (verb): to walk at a leisurely pace

“Hi there!”

“Good morning!”

“I love your sweater!”

The old woman always made an effort to greet everyone in sight whenever she was on her daily walks.

The last time she went strolling, a little dog was dashing forward, a long stick clamped in his jaws. His short, stubby legs could barely support the weight of the wood, and his fumbling limbs nearly tangled within each other as they carried him onwards.

“Well hello, little fellow!” She exclaimed.

Carefully moving to the side of the bridge, she let the little dog pass through.

It had been a week since the old woman passed away.

She died peacefully in the hospital, in a quiet room without another soul.

The circumstances regarding her family members were unclear, but a strangely enormous amount of people showed up to pay respects.

Among them was a teenage painter, a girl attending her first year of elementary school, the CEO of the local tech company…

None of them knew each other.

However, when they saw the portrait of the old woman on her coffin, they all shed the same tears. They wept for her merry compliments, her purple flora hats, and for a kindness they were unable to repay.

They even seemed to understand the little white dog kneeling before her coffin.
