The Legionnaires Strikes Back II

The Legionnaires Strikes Back II

Copoa Town, Cosorto Region, 19 April 2141 / 19 Aprilis 1841, 10:10 am

After destroying all Black Shadow aircraft, Heraclius asked Maximus about their next phase: destroying the ground units.

"Legatus Maximus, we need the approval to conduct airstrikes against the enemy ground unit on the Cosorto and Noplo borders Region. Over." Heraclius requests approval to conduct air strikes with air-to-ground missiles (ASM) Storm Breaker.

"Negative. Let the enemy come, and we will welcome them with our advanced ground units." Maximus refused Heraclius's request.

"But.. Legatus. If we used our ASM, we could annihilate them without our ground legionnaires' potential casualties and save our ammunition and logistics." Heraclius tried to convience Maximus.

"That is the problem. If you successfully annihilated the enemy, all glory will be yours, the air legionnaires unit. You have already annihilated the enemy aircraft, so let us, the ground legionnaires unit, take action and get our glorious battle. Now return to base and wait for the further orders." Maximus gives the reason why he rejected Heraclius.

"I understand, Legatus. Return to base." Heraclius cannot argue with Maximus because he has a higher rank than Heraclius, and Heraclius must obey his orders.

Maximus and Heraclius are rivals during their legionnaire's training and academy. Both are intelligent, agile, and strong tirones or cadets with excellent scores and performances. However, because Maximus is a son of the Fortisregnum Empire hero and nephew of Emperor Aurelius, he is treated slightly better than Heraclius. That is the reason why Maximus becomes the Legatus or Commander of Legionnaires while Heraclius becomes the Vice Commander.

Even though they are rivals, they still respect and appreciate each other. While Emperor Aurelius orders Maximus to train under UT ISF in the United Terran, Maximus persuades Emperor Aurelius to let Heraclius join the special training. He wants to compete with his rival and friend equally. While Maximus excels in the ground battle, Heraclius excels in the aerial battle. Based on Colonel Ermey and other commanders of UT ISF evaluation, Maximus became the Commander of the ground unit, while Heraclius became the Commander of the Aerial Unit. However, because all aerial and ground units of legionnaires in the Fortisregnum Empire were under one Commander, Heraclius's rank was still below Maximus's rank.

"All right, guys, Legatus Maximus orders us to return to base." Heraclius orders to his air wingmen.

"But, Sir. If we could eradicate enemy forces with our ASM, we could reduce the casualty of our ground units and save their ammunition for the next battle." One of his air wingmen complains.

"Yeah, I know that. However, all of you know he is a prideful man. Sometimes, he wants to achieve glorious victory in battle, especially with our new modern and advanced weapons. We cannot argue more and obey the order. Let us hope Legatus Maximus could achieve glorious victory in this battle, as he did during the last battle of Cossono Town. His victory is also the victory of legionnaires and Emperor Aurelius. We hope we can finish this useless civil war as soon as possible. All right, Return to base." Heraclius prayed for the victory of the legionnaires and ordered his air wingmen to return to base.

"Yes, Sir. Return to base." All of his air wingmen respond.

Maximus and Heraclius's rivalry has upgraded to the next level. In the near future, Maximus will become the chief of staff of the Fortisregnum Empire army, while Heraclius will become the chief of staff of the air force.

Cosorto and Noplos Border, Noplos Region, 19 April 2141 / 19 Aprilis 1841, 10:30 am

Commander Dietrich tries to contact Commander Adelstein, but he cannot. He thinks the enemy is also jamming the location around the Cosorto Region. However, they are still in the Noplos Region. He is asking Mr. 08, the electronic warfare expert of Black Shadow.

"Mr. 08, why we cannot contact Commander Adelstein? I hear they flew to the Cosorto Region to conduct an airstrike against the enemy." Dietrich asked Mr. 08.

"I think the enemy conducts jamming and electronic warfare in the Cosorto Region. We must search and destroy the source of the enemy jammer. If not, we cannot communicate properly, and we will suffer heavy casualties because we cannot conduct proper plans and strategies for our soldiers." Mr. 08 responds.

"Where do you think they placed their jammer, Sir? Could we send our operatives to conduct a raid mission?" Dietrich asked Mr. 08 again.

"That is a good option. However, I hear our operatives suffer heavy casualties during intelligence and counterintelligence missions. Even our elite Tyomnyy Rytsar' suffered defeat when fighting against United Terran operatives. Honestly, we are already at a disadvantage in this mission. We did not know that United Terran would help and join this civil war." Mr. 08 sighed because they were losing against modern and advanced enemy weapons and equipment.

"So, what is your suggestion, Sir? We cannot retreat back to Noplos City. But if we advanced, I am sure we would face strong United Terran soldiers who defeated Commander Keitel and shot down Commander Thomsen's air wingmen. I hope Commander Adelstein will be in better condition than Commander Thomsen." Dietrich asks for a solution from Mr. 08 and prays for Adelstein's condition.

Dietrich and Mr. 08 did not know that Heraclius and his air wingmen had already decimated Adelstein's fighter and bomber air wingmen.

"We must continue our advance to the Cosorto Region and avenge our fallen comrades. I suggest we send Tyomnyy Rytsar tonight to conduct a raid mission. My feelings tell me we must go and take Copoa Town before the enemy builds a strong defense in Copoa Town." Mr. 08 suggests to Dietrich.

"All right, I will ask a small Tyomnyy Rytsar unit to search the enemy jammer condition and destroy it." Dietrich response.

Then Dietrich asks his soldier to call Captain Petrenko, Commander Ivankov's representative and subordinate, and Mr. 06.

"Captain Petrenko, at your service." Petrenko salutes Mr. 08 and Dietrich.

"Petrenko, your task is to cover me while I conduct a raid mission to destroy an enemy jammer in the Cosorto Region. Bring your best men to increase our success." Mr. 08 orders Petrenko.

"Yes, Sir. We will escort you to search and raid the enemy jammer. I will send fifteen of the best men of Tyomnyy Rytsar for this mission," Petrenko responds.

"Petrenko, you must ensure your awareness as if conducting a mission from Spetnaz NKGB. This mission will have the highest risk because we will confront the enemy with power like our motherland." Mr. 08 reminds Petrenko.

"Yes, Sir. Commander Ivankov tells me that the enemy, United Terran, utilizes advanced weapons more than us. I hear Mr. 0 has already returned to the motherland after acquiring those weapons from the enemy operatives." Petrenko responds.

"Commander Dietrich, you continue to Copoa Town. Ensure that the Town is taken before the enemy. If the enemy has already captured Copoa Town, ensure they are assaulted with the highest awareness." Mr. 08 advises Dietrich.

"Thank you for your advice, Sir. We will conduct this mission carefully. I want to avenge Commander Keitel." Dietrich responds.

"Prepare your units, and we will advance tonight." Mr. 08 closed the discussion.

Cosorto and Noplos Border, Cosorto Region, 19 April 2141 / 19 Aprilis 1841, 10:30 pm

Mr. 08, Captain Petrenko, and Tyomnyy Rytsar's unit are already crossing the border between Cosorto and Noplos Region. Petrenko and his Tyomnyy Rytsar' utilized modern and standard infantry weapons from the People's Republic of Uroslav. They also use modern weapons and equipment, such as AS-102 assault rifles with silencers and modern scopes, SVS-98 sniper rifles with silencers, KP 443 pistols, night vision goggles, modern Kevlar armor, and modern surveillance and communication devices through satellite.

"Mr. 08, we are already in the Cosorto Region. We will advance carefully to reduce the possibility of enemy detection. Please guide us to the designated enemy jammer and communication device location." Petrenko informed Mr. 08.

Because Mr. 08 is not an elite force, Petrenko must conduct this mission carefully. During special missions with civilians or VIPs, the special force unit must ensure the VIP's safety while completing the mission objectives.

"All right. Petrenko, we will advance to 10 km north of our current position. There is a strong source of electromagnetic waves. I assume that is the source of enemy communication and jammer location." Mr. 08 orders.

"Affirmative, Sir. However, because we may fight against enemy operatives or soldiers, we will prioritize your safety, Sir." Petrenko responds.

"Understood, Captain. Let us proceed with caution," Mr. 08 replied, adjusting his gear. The unit moved silently through the dense foliage, every step measured and deliberate.

The night was dark, with only the faint glow of the moon piercing through the thick canopy above. The air was filled with tension as the elite Tyomnyy Rytsar's unit advanced, their senses heightened to detect any sign of enemy presence. They communicated through hand signals and whispered commands, ensuring their movements were coordinated and silent.

As they approached the designated location, Petrenko halted the unit. "We are close. Prepare for engagement," he whispered. The soldiers took their positions, scanning the area with night vision goggles.

"The jammer is approximately 500 meters ahead, inside that compound," he whispered to Petrenko, pointing towards a heavily guarded facility. Mr. 08 pulled out a portable electronic warfare device, fine-tuning it to detect the exact source of the jamming signal.

Petrenko nodded and relayed the information to his men. "We will split into two teams. Team A will create a diversion on the eastern side, drawing the enemy's attention. Team B will infiltrate the compound from the west and neutralize the jammer. Mr. 08, you stay with Team B for protection," Petrenko instructed.

The unit split into Tim A and B. Team A moved swiftly to the eastern perimeter. Within moments, the sound of suppressed gunfire from Tyomnyy Rytsar's unit and minor explosions echoed through the night, signaling the start of the diversion.

However, something strange is happening on the jammer site. The soldiers who protected the jammer device were not modern infantry, as he and Petrenko thought, but mere primitive soldiers with swords, armor, and shields. Because of their superiority and advanced weapons, they could quickly finish off the jammer device's guard.

"Move," Petrenko whispered to Team B. They advanced towards the western side, using the chaos to their advantage. As they approached the compound's fence, Petrenko signaled one of his men to cut through it. The team slipped inside undetected, heading towards the jammer's location.

Even though the guard is sloppy with their primitive weapons and equipment, the jammer and communication device facilities are modern. The jammer and communication devices in the Cosorto Region are on par with the advanced facilities of the PRU's secret radar, communication, and jammer devices. Mr. 08 and Petrenko feel something is wrong in this facility's location. Why could advanced and modern facilities on par with PRU be built in a backward nation like the Fortisregnum Empire? Why are the guards not soldiers with advanced and modern weapons and equipment? There are many questions in their mind about their mission. However, they only focused on destroying this facility and finishing the mission.

Inside the compound, the tension was palpable. Petrenko led the team through narrow corridors, avoiding patrols and security cameras. Mr. 08 monitored the jammer's signal, guiding them towards a heavily fortified room. However, the strange phenomenon appears again. This facility seems quite empty, and not many people are operating. How is this advanced and modern facility quite empty? Usually, advanced and contemporary communication device facilities are full of people operating many devices. Why is this facility quite empty? How are they operating this facility with limited people? Another question appears again in Mr. 08, who thought that there was a possibility they had fallen into the enemy trap. However, he still optimized that this mission's success could give a significant blow to the United Terran forces in the Fortisregnum Empire.

"Behind this door," Mr. 08 whispered. Petrenko signaled for his men to breach. With a silent count, they kicked the door open and stormed the room. A sophisticated jamming device hummed inside, surrounded by a small team of enemy technicians recruited from Fortisregnum Empire people.

"Neutralize them," Petrenko ordered. His men moved swiftly, incapacitating and killing the technicians before they could raise an alarm.

The low sound of silenced AS-102 assault rifles could quickly neutralize the 'technicians' in the control room and prevent unintended events from happening. Mr. 08 approached the jammer, pulling a small device from his pack.

"I can disable it temporarily, but we need to destroy it to ensure it cannot be reactivated," Mr. 08 explained as he began working on the jammer.

Initially, Mr. 08 wants to steal some devices in this facility and return to PRU to learn about this novel and strange device of the United Terran. However, he did not have much time to steal anything. So, he could only plant explosives and destroy the facility to obstruct enemy communication, stop the jamming happening to the slavery faction army, and blow the legionnaires and United Terran forces significantly.

"Hurry up," Petrenko urged, keeping an eye on the door. The diversion outside was growing louder, indicating the enemy was starting to realize the actual threat.

After a few tense moments, Mr. 08 stepped back. "It is done. Plant the charges," he instructed. Petrenko's men quickly placed explosive charges around the jammer. "We have five minutes. Let us move."

The team retreated the way they came, moving quickly but cautiously. Exiting the compound, they regrouped with Team A, holding off the enemy forces.

"Fall back!" Petrenko ordered. The unit withdrew, making their way back to the border. As they reached a safe distance, a loud explosion rocked the night, signaling the destruction of the jammer.

"Mission accomplished. We should be able to communicate again without enemy interference now." Mr. 08 said, relief evident.

"Good work, everyone. Let us get back to the base and report our success." Petrenko nodded.

Unknown to them, the drone monitors their action, which operates stealthily around the jammer and communication device location. Mr. 08, Petrenko, and his unit then regroup with Commander Deitrich.

After arriving at a safe location around the Cosorto and Noplos Border, Mr. 08 tries communicating with Commander Deitrich.

"Mission success. We have already destroyed the enemy jammer and communication device. We could continue our advance to cross the border and capture the Copoa Town." Mr. 08 inform Dietrich.

"Good work, Sir. Tomorrow, my combined unit will advance and capture Copoa Town as our supply hub in the Cosorto Region." Dietrich responded and informed his unit would advance and capture Copoa Town

UT ISIA Safehouse, Aeterna City, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 00:10 am

Johnny Bean was called to the UT ISIA safe house because of the information about the enemy attack in the Cosorto Region.

"Sir, the enemy assaulted our decoy jammer facility one hour ago in the Cosorto Region. The native agents in the Cosorto Region are awaiting your orders." Agent J, a young UT ISIA agent, informed Bean.

"I see. So, the enemy is already aware of our decoy facilities. Let them be. I promised Colonel Ermey and Maximus not to interfere in the legionnaire's ground battle. We only interfere with finishing off the remaining enemy forces and clean up those proud legionnaires' works." Bean calmly responds to Agent J.

"Are you sure about that, Sir? Today, the native agents of the Cosorto Region already captured one of the survivors of an enemy pilot." Agent J asked Bean.

"Yeah, Agent I already reported her success to me. However, her action only finished the remaining enemy who had survived the aerial battle, and we did not interfere with those proud legionnaires. We could have finished the enemy troops more efficiently if we had only utilized airstrike drones like the MQ-9 Reaper. If our leader lets our operatives conduct special operations to capture enemy leaders, we could finish this useless civil war as quickly as possible." Bean responds.

"You right, Sir. Our leader wants those legionnaires to train in the actual battle to improve their advanced and modern weapons skills. If the legionnaires had properly defended themselves and the Fortisregnum Empire, we would not have spent much money defending this buffer nation. So, what is your next order, Sir?" Agent J asked Bean

"Even though those facilities in the Cosorto Region are a decoy, they are still constructed with our public tax money. If Mr. Bond knows this, he will punish us because we let a facility be raided and destroyed by the enemy. We need to punish them for their action." Bean argues.

"Inform Agent I and her unit in Cosorto Region to conduct counterintelligence and hunting missions for the remaining enemy forces who survived the incoming battle. I want those Black Shadow operatives captured alive. Send them more advanced weapons because the enemy is more advanced than the previous enemy. Tell her, 'You are free to engage. All weapons are free. Assert our dominance. Failed is not an option." Bean order to Agent J.

"Yes, Sir. I will inform Agent I to prepare her unit to conduct sweeping missions." Agent J responds.

Several minutes later, Agent J contacted Agent I. Agent J composed himself before initiating the secure communication link to Agent I, stationed in the Cosorto Region. The situation's urgency required immediate action, and there was no room for error.

"Agent I, do you read me?" Agent J's voice crackled over the secure line.

"Loud and clear, Agent J. What is the status?" Agent I is calm and collected voice responded, betraying no hint of the tension she must be feeling on the ground.

"I have new orders from Mr. Johnny Bean. The enemy has assaulted our decoy jammer facility. Your mission is to conduct counterintelligence and hunting operations for any remaining enemy forces who survived the recent engagements. Capture the Black Shadow operatives alive if possible. However, you and your team only act after the legionnaires finish their battle in the Cosorto Region." Agent J informed Agent I.

There was a brief pause as Agent I absorbed the information. "Understood. We have been monitoring their movements, and it seems they have underestimated the complexity of our operations here. What is the extent of our engagement rules?"

Agent J took a deep breath. "You are free to engage. All weapons are free. Assert our dominance. Failure is not an option. Mr. Johnny Bean wants a decisive outcome."

"Copy that. We will mobilize immediately after the battle in the Cosorto Region is finished and ensure no enemy operatives slip through our operative net. Our current intel suggests some isolated enemy units are trying to regroup. We will target them first." Agent I's voice carried a note of determination.

"Good. Keep us updated on your progress. Mr. Bean expects a detailed report on all captures and eliminations. Moreover, remember, we need those Black Shadow operatives alive if possible. For your information, the enemy weapons and equipment are quite advanced and modern. I suggest you engage them carefully. Also, I will send you more advanced weapons for this engagement through carrier drones." Agent J advises Agent I.

"Understood. Thank you for your advanced support. I will send some of my subordinates to retrieve the weapons and equipment. We will commence operations after the battle is finished. Expect our first update soon. Agent I out." Agent I close the secret call.

The secure line went dead, leaving Agent J to relay the confirmation back to Johnny Bean. He knew Agent I and her team were among the best, and if anyone could turn the tide decisively, it was them.

UT ISIA Native Agent Safehouse, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 06:00 am

Agent I called all her Safehouse subordinates for the morning briefing before conducting a hunting and counterintelligence mission today. After she and some of her subordinates retrieved the weapons and equipment from flying carrier drones, Agent I stood at the head of the room, a map of the Cosorto Region projected on the wall behind her. The room was filled with her subordinates, each operative of the UT ISIA native agents, their faces a mixture of determination and focus.

"Good morning, everyone. As you know, the enemy assaulted our decoy jammer and communication facility last night. While the facility served its purpose, we cannot let this action go unpunished. Our orders are clear: conduct counterintelligence and hunting operations to capture or eliminate any remaining enemy forces, focusing on the Black Shadow operatives." Agent I informed and described the incoming mission with her steady and authoritative voice.

"Intel information from the drones shows the enemy's strong combined army will attack Copoa Town. They have already arrived at the border between the Noplos and Cosorto Regions. We will be awaiting the enemy assault and let the legionnaires finish them off. After the legionnaires finish them and they retreat, we will pursue and capture the enemy, especially enemy operatives in the army." Agent I informed about the incoming enemy attack on Copoa Town.

"We will isolate enemy units trying to retreat and potentially regroup here and at this location. I will ask native agents from the Noplos Region to help us hunt the retreated enemy. These will be our primary targets. We need to move swiftly and decisively. Remember, capturing the Black Shadow operatives alive is a priority, but we are authorized to use any means necessary." Agent I pointed to various locations on the map and asked for help from Noplos Region native agents.

Agent I paused, letting the weight of her words sink in. "Our engagement rules are as follows: we will wait for the legionnaires to finish their battle in the Cosorto Region. Once they are done, we move in. All weapons are free. Assert our dominance. Failure is not an option."

She turned to Agent Z, her second-in-command. "Agent Z, you will lead Team Alpha. Your mission is to sweep the northern sector. Agent C, you will lead Team Bravo in the southern sector. Team Charlie, you will be with me in the central sector. We aim to create a net and ensure no enemy operatives slip through."

Agent K nodded, already formulating a plan. "Understood, Agent I. We must set up checkpoints and coordinate closely with the legionnaires to ensure we don't miss any targets."

Agent C added, "We will need to be cautious. The enemy's weapons and equipment are advanced. We cannot afford to underestimate them."

Agent I nodded. "Exactly. Move with caution, but do not hesitate to assert our dominance. Mr. Bean expects a detailed report on all captures and eliminations. We need to make this operation count."

She looked around the room, meeting each Agent's eyes. "Any questions?"

Agent M raised his hand. "What about civilian casualties? Are there any known civilian populations in the targeted areas?"

"We have confirmed that the areas we are targeting are devoid of civilians," Agent I replied. "However, stay vigilant. If you encounter any non-combatants, ensure their safety and extract them to a secure location."

Agent I then introduced new advanced weapons and equipment for her team. She then ordered her subordinate to open the box and show it to her team. The box contains SIG MCX Spear assault rifles, Accuracy International AXSR and SIG P229 Legion pistols. These weapons are upgraded versions of SIG MCX assault rifles, Accuracy International AXMC, and SIG P229.

Then, a video from Agent J explained about these weapons and their upgrade from their previous version. The room buzzed with anticipation as Agent I concluded her briefing. All eyes turned towards the large screen as it flickered to life, displaying Agent J, who appeared calm and confident, ready to explain the advanced weaponry.

"Good morning, everyone," Agent J began, his voice steady and authoritative. "I am Agent J, and I will walk you through the specifications and upgrades of the new weapons you will use for today's operation."

The screen shifted to show a detailed image of the SIG MCX Spear assault rifle. "First up, we have the SIG MCX Spear. This weapon is an upgraded version of the SIG MCX assault rifle, designed to provide superior performance in the field. Key features include a redesigned gas system for improved reliability, a new suppressor-compatible flash hider, and an enhanced recoil system to reduce felt recoil, allowing for quicker follow-up shots. The barrel is modular, meaning you can switch it out easily depending on mission requirements, and it comes in multiple calibers including 6.8mm, ensuring better range and stopping power."

The screen transitioned to show the Accuracy International AXSR sniper rifle. "Next, we have the Accuracy International AXSR sniper rifle, an upgrade from the AXMC. This sniper rifle boasts a new multi-caliber capability, allowing you to switch between calibers such as .308, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .338 Lapua Magnum, depending on your operational needs. The AXSR features a longer top rail for better optics placement, an enhanced bipod mount for stability, and a new folding stock for easier transport. Its improved barrel design offers better accuracy and consistency, making it ideal for long-range engagements."

Agent J paused, ensuring everyone had absorbed the information. "These upgrades are designed to give you the edge in the field. The MCX Spear is for versatile assault capabilities, the AXSR is for precision at range, and the P229 Legion is for close-quarter engagements. Remember to familiarize yourself with these weapons, which will be crucial in today's mission. Because you are already familiarized with MCX, AXMC, and P229, you will familiriaze these weapons more easily."

Agent J's image faded, and the room returned to the present. Agent I stood at the head of the room once more, her presence commanding and reassuring.

"Thank you, Agent J," she said, her voice cutting through the silence. "Now, ensure you are well-acquainted with these weapons before we move out. Time is of the essence, and preparation is key. Dismissed."

As the agents dispersed to gather their gear and ready themselves, Agent I took a moment to review the mission plan one last time, her mind focused on the tasks ahead. The mission was critical, and failure was not an option. With determination, she knew her team was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

With the briefing concluded, Agent I dismissed her team. "Prepare your gear and be ready to move out as soon as the legionnaires finish their engagement. We need to be ready to strike at a moment's notice."

The agents filed out of the room, focused on the mission ahead. Agent I stayed behind, studying the map one last time. She knew the stakes were high, and failure was not an option.

The morning sun cast long shadows as the agents prepared for their mission. The tension in the air was palpable, but so was the sense of determination. This was their moment to prove their worth and assert their dominance.

20 km from Copoa Town, Cosorto Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 09:00 am

Commander Deitrich and his unit advanced with their powerful units. Unknown to them, the recon drone already monitored the combined force.

"Defense Command Center, this is Recon Drone Alpha. The enemy approached Copoa Town, and currently, they halted 20 km. Based on the visual data, they prepared to launch a full-scale attack on Copoa Town. Over." The radar operator reports about the enemy's incoming ground army.

"Thank you, Recon Drone Alpha. I will forward this information data to Maximus." Lieutenant Inzaghi responds.

"Colonel, the enemy ground army is approaching Copoa Town with more power than the previous army in the Cossono Town. Waiting for your orders." Lieutenant Inzaghi asked Colonel Ermey.

"Thank you, Lieutenant. I will order Maximus directly." Colonel Ermey responds.

Then, Colonel Ermey forwards the information to Maximus's commander device.

"Maximus, the enemy already arrived 20 km from your position. Bombard their ground units with PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzer. Here is the enemy current and incoming coordinate." Colonel Ermey orders Maximus to send the enemy coordinates data to his unit.

"Yes, Sir. I will order Drussus to bombard the enemy with our SPG and howitzers." Maximus responds.

Standing at the command center, Maximus quickly relayed Colonel Ermey's orders to his units. The artillery crews, already prepared, sprang into action. The PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers were positioned strategically, adjusted their angles, and prepared to fire.

"Drusus, the enemy ground units are advancing. Conduct bombardment with our PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers. Calculate carefully and ensure you hit the enemy." Maximus order to Drusus.

"Affirmative, Legatus. We will bombard the enemy position." Drusus responds.

Then, Drusus ordered his artillery units to calculate and project enemy positions. At the same time, the rest prepared the artillery, such as loading the M982MUT Excalibur shells, controlling the barrel of artillery and SPG elevation based on the calculation data, and ensuring the safety of the crews before firing the artillery and SPGs.

"Calculation is complete, and the shell is loaded. Artillery is ready to fire, Legatus." Drusus report.

"Artillery, fire at will! Target the advancing enemy ground units. We must slow them down before they reach our defenses," Maximus commanded through his comms. The ground shook as the first salvo of shells was launched, arching through the sky toward the enemy's position.

Commander Dietrich's units were advancing cautiously. The rumble of their powerful panzers echoed through the landscape. The tension was palpable as the ground units awaited the inevitable clash. Aware of the impending ground battle, Dietrich continuously scanned the horizon.

Suddenly, the sky was filled with the distant thuds and booms of artillery fire. The first shells from Maximus' PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers landed amongst the advancing units, sending plumes of smoke and earth into the air. The precision of the bombardment caused immediate chaos within Dietrich's ranks. Trucks exploded, and infantry scrambled for cover, temporarily halting their advance.

Thanks to M982MUT Excalibur shells, its shell has precision guidance, Extended Range, Compatibility, and Combat Proven. Legionnaires' PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers utilized advanced and improved M982 Excalibur shells with nanomaterial and nanocomposite technology and an advanced computer-guided system.

Standard M982 Excalibur utilizes GPS and INS to achieve high accuracy, significantly reducing collateral damage and increasing the effectiveness of fire missions against high-value targets with a range and accuracy of up to 50 km and within 2 meters from the target, respectively. Designed for long-range engagements, the Excalibur can hit targets up to 50 kilometers away, depending on the firing platform and conditions. The M982 Excalibur is compatible with 155 mm artillery systems, including the M777 howitzer and the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer. The shell can be programmed with different fusing modes to detonate on impact, after a delay, or near the target. This versatility makes it effective against various target types, including fortified positions and personnel in the open.

The upgraded version of the M982 shell is M982MUT Excalibur (MU stands for Modified for United Terran), a more advanced satellite and GPS-guided system. However, the current M982MUT utilized by legionnaires only used a GPS-guided system. In the future, after Fortisregnum Empire can launch its satellites, it will utilize a satellite-guided system. Thanks to advanced nanotechnology and an upgraded GPS-guided system, its range and accuracy increased to 60 kilometers and within 0.5 meters, respectively.

5 meters, respectively [https://img.wattpad.com/a201acf2c39fb30240c9629ab51407f52a7064fe/68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f56656c5753534b6d4530654577413d3d2d313435373032393130382e313764636265343639613335343564623331323134303039313833392e6a7067?s=fit&w=1280&h=1280]

Figure 9. The art style of legionnaires firing their M777 Howitzer (source US.Army) [9]

The battlefield was now a cacophony of explosions and chaos. Several panzers were hit directly by the PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzer shells, their hulking frames rendered into smoldering wrecks. Trucks carrying supplies and personnel were obliterated, adding to the disorder. The precision of the artillery fire was devastating, causing fear and confusion among Commander Dietrich's units.

"Neu formieren! Neu formieren! Bringt die beschädigten Fahrzeuge aus dem Weg und bereitet Gegenmaßnahmen vor! Wir müssen vorwärts drängen! (Regroup! Regroup! Get those damaged vehicles out of the way and prepare for countermeasures! We need to push forward!)" Dietrich shouted into his comms, trying to maintain control over the situation.

Back at the command center, Maximus monitored the situation closely.

"Drusus, keep up the pressure! Adjust your fire to the enemy's regrouping positions. We cannot let them recover." Maximus orders Drusus.

"Understood, Legatus. Several enemy tanks and trucks are destroyed and get rekt." Drusus responded, relaying new coordinates to the artillery crews. The PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers adjusted their barrels again, preparing to unleash another barrage.

Another salvo of artillery shells rained down on Dietrich's units, the thunderous booms echoing across the battlefield. Thanks to their quick response, the damage was somewhat mitigated this time. However, several trucks still fell victim to the relentless bombardment, their flaming wrecks marking the landscape.

The chaos on the battlefield intensified as Maximus' artillery units continued their relentless bombardment. The PzH 2000 and M777 Howitzers delivered devastating precision strikes, disrupting Commander Dietrich's formation and forcing his units into a desperate defensive stance.

"Kommandant Deitrich, unsere Truppen erleiden schwere Verluste. Wir müssen Deckung suchen und das Feuer erwidern! (Commander Deitrich, our forces are taking heavy losses. We need to find cover and return fire!)" one of his officers yelled over the cacophony of explosions.

"Verstanden. Alle Einheiten zurück zur Baumgrenze und Verteidigungsstellungen einnehmen! Wir müssen uns neu formieren und auf einen Gegenangriff vorbereiten. (Understood. All units fall back to the tree line and set up defensive positions! We need to regroup and prepare for a counterattack,)" Deitrich commanded, his voice steady despite the chaos.

As Dietrich's units scrambled to follow orders, the air was thick with the smoke and debris of battle. The sound of artillery shells whistling through the sky and the subsequent explosions created an almost continuous roar. The precision of the M982MUT Excalibur shells, guided by their advanced GPS systems, ensured that each strike found its mark with devastating accuracy.

"Colonel Ermey, the bombardment is effective. The enemy is retreating to defensive positions," Maximus reported from the command center.

"Excellent work, Maximus. Keep the pressure on them. We cannot allow them to regroup and launch a counterattack," Colonel Ermey replied.

"Yes, Sir. Drusus, continue firing on the enemy's defensive positions. Do not give them a moment's respite," Maximus ordered.

"Affirmative, Legatus. We will maintain the pressure," Drusus responded, relaying the updated coordinates to the artillery crews.

The artillery crews, well-trained and efficient, adjusted their fire to target the enemy's new positions. The M982MUT Excalibur shells, with their enhanced range and accuracy, continued to rain down upon the enemy forces. The precise strikes caused further chaos among Deitrich's units, preventing them from effectively regrouping.

The defensive forces prepared for a direct engagement back at Copoa Town. Tanks and infantry units were positioned strategically, ready to repel any enemy that might break through the artillery barrage.

"Lieutenant Inzaghi, keep monitoring the situation with the recon drones. We need real-time updates on the enemy's movements," Colonel Ermey instructed.

"Yes, Colonel. Recon Drone Alpha, continue providing live feeds and updates on the enemy's positions," Inzaghi relayed.

"Roger that, Defense Command Center. We are maintaining a visual on the enemy. They are currently retreating and setting up defensive positions within the tree line. No significant movement forward detected," Recon Drone Alpha reported.

"Maximus, the recon drone reports that the enemy is holding their position. This is our chance to push them back even further. Prepare your ground units for a coordinated assault once the artillery has softened them up sufficiently," Colonel Ermey ordered.

"Understood, Colonel. I will prepare our units for the assault," Maximus replied.

The ground units, consisting of heavily armored vehicles and well-equipped infantry, readied themselves for the upcoming assault. The plan was clear: Use the artillery to weaken the enemy significantly, then launch a decisive ground attack to push them back and secure the area.

As the bombardment continued, Commander Deitrich realized the precariousness of his situation. The precision artillery strikes had decimated his forces, and his units struggled to maintain cohesion.

"Alle Einheiten, bereitet euch auf eine Gegenoffensive vor. Wir müssen dieses Artilleriefeuer durchbrechen und einen Angriff auf ihre Positionen starten. Wir können nicht länger in der Defensive bleiben. (All units, prepare for a counteroffensive. We need to break through this artillery barrage and launch an attack on their positions. We cannot stay on the defensive any longer,)" Deitrich ordered, determination in his voice.

His units, though battered and bruised, rallied for the counteroffensive. Despite the damage they had sustained, the panzers moved forward with determination. Infantry units followed, taking cover behind the hulking tanks as they advanced.

Observing the enemy's movements, Maximus knew the time had come for the ground assault. "All units, prepare to engage the enemy. We must meet their counteroffensive head-on and push them back decisively."

The battle for Copoa Town had reached a critical juncture. The outcome would depend on the effectiveness of artillery bombardment and the ground forces' resolve. As the two sides prepared for the imminent clash, the Town's fate hung in the balance.

Copoa Town, Cosorto Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 10:00 am

After bombarding the enemy with PzH 2000s and M777 Howitzers, Maximus orders Lucullus and Valerius to be ready to engage the enemy.

Maximus seized the opportunity created by the chaos and confusion within the enemy ranks. Even though the enemy still advanced to Copoa Town, he knew this was the moment to strike hard and fast, leveraging the disarray to gain a decisive advantage.

"Lucullus, Valerius, this is our moment. Move your units into position and engage the enemy. Lucullus, lead with your Panther IIs and Puma IFVs to create a wedge in their formation. Valerius, follow closely with your infantry to secure the ground and eliminate resistance. Utilize the cover provided by our artillery bombardment," Maximus commanded, his voice steady and authoritative.

"Understood, Legatus. We will move swiftly and strike hard," Lucullus responded, signaling his armored units to advance. The Panther IIs and Puma IFVs roared to life, their powerful engines revving as they moved into attack formation.

"Infantry, move out! Follow the armor unit and secure each position. Flavius, ensure your Sniper Centurion team is providing overwatch and taking out priority targets. Machine gun nests provide suppressive fire," Valerius ordered, rallying his troops.

The legionnaires moved with precision and coordination. The Panther IIs, with their 130 mm smoothbore L/52 cannons, led the charge, their powerful guns ready to engage any enemy armor. The Puma IFVs, equipped with a mix of autocannons and anti-tank guided missiles, provided additional firepower and support.

The Panther IIs, as the spearhead of legionnaires, continued their relentless advance, their cannons firing with precision and deadly effect. Lucullus and his unit maintained their focus, determined to completely dismantle the enemy's armored forces. After their successful operation in Cossono Town, they were hungry to hunt more enemy panzers.

"We have another group of enemy tanks attempting to regroup and mount a counterattack on us. They are approximately 1,800 meters to our southeast. Claudius, loaded APFSDS-T round." Lucullus reported from his observation point and ordered Claudius to load the APFSDS-T round.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

"Yes, Prafectus. Loading APFSDS-T round. The APFSDS-T is loaded, Sir." Claudius responds.

"Understood. Cornelius, adjust targeting to the new coordinates. Prepare to engage," Lucullus ordered.

"Adjusting targeting systems. Target acquired. Range: 1,800 meters. Ready to fire," Cornelius confirmed.

"Fire!" Lucullus commanded.

"Fire!" Lucullus commanded [https://img.wattpad.com/a6494fb1cebd545500a1c7a2aa5746512b460a59/68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f5774494b4b545f67726930536a513d3d2d313435373032393130382e313764636265353934636538333434613930303935333934303832372e6a7067?s=fit&w=1280&h=1280]

Figure 10. The art style of Panther II firing an APFSDS-T round from their 130 mm smoothbore L/52 cannon (resembles Panther KF51 Rh-130 L/52 130 mm smoothbore cannon) [10]

The Panther II's cannon roared, sending an APFSDS-T round toward the designated target. The projectile flew true, striking the lead Jaguar II in the front. Thanks to modified APFSDS-T rounds, the round could penetrate the ammo rack of the enemy Jaguar II. The impact was devastating, the armor-piercing round penetrating the tank's front and causing a catastrophic explosion. The Jaguar II was engulfed in flames, and its crew could not escape.

Based on the previous action, a precise shot in the Lower Glacis Plate, Driver's Vision Port, and Machine Gun Port of Jaguar I and Jaguar II might penetrate the frontal armor and reach the ammo rack.

"Direct hit! The enemy lead tank is neutralized. Excellent work. Keep up the pressure. We cannot allow the enemy tanks to regroup," Lucullus reported a note of grim satisfaction in his voice and appreciated his crew's performance.

"The APFSDS-T round is loaded, Sir," Claudius responds.

"Target acquired. Range: 2,000 meters. Ready to fire," Cornelius reported again, locking onto another Jaguar II.

"Fire!" Lucullus commanded.

The Panther II's cannon fired, and the APFSDS-T round struck another Jaguar II. The precision of the shot ensured another direct hit, and the enemy tank erupted into flames and smoke.

"Another hit! Enemy tanks neutralized," Lucullus confirmed.

Captain Thomas, a panzer commander of Jaguar heavy armored units, suffered a devastating defeat. The Lucullus Panther II destroyed his armored panzer unit.

"Wir müssen diese feindlichen Panzer ausschalten. Zerstört sie. APDS-Granaten laden. (We must take out those enemy panzers. Destroy them. Loading APDS rounds.)" Thomas orders his loader to load APDS round

"Ja, Herr. APDS-Geschoss laden. APDS-Geschoss ist geladen. (Yes, Sir. Loading APDS round. APDS round is loaded.)" The loader responds.

"Schießt auf die untere Frontplatte des Feindes. Feuer! (Shoot enemy lower glacis. Fire!)" Thomas orders his gunner to shoot Panther II's lower glacis.

Thomas did not know that Panther II was different from their Panzerkampfwagen Nebelparder. He only knew Nebelparder could be penetrated by an APDS round from a 128 mm KWK L/52 cannon through the lower glacis. However, his predictions were wrong. The APDS round cannot penetrate Panther II's lower glacis because of its effective thickness of nanomaterial and nanocomposite armor technology.

"Ladet eine weitere APDS-Granate. Schießt auf die andere Seite des feindlichen Panzers. (Load another APDS. Shoot another side of enemy panzer.)" Thomas order his loader to load another APDS round and the gunner to shoot another side of Panther II.

Before Thomas's crew shot the Lucullus Panther II unit, an APFSDS-T round from 130 mm smoothbore L/52 successfully penetrated through the frontal armor of Jaguar II and hit the ammo rack, causing the Jaguar II turret to blow up and killed Thomas and his crews.

The battlefield was now a scene of devastation, and the Panther IIs systematically dismantled the enemy's armored units. Once formidable, the Jaguar I and II panzers were now reduced to burning wrecks scattered across the landscape.

"Praefectus Lucullus, we have a visual of another group of enemy tanks. They are moving to northeast and northwest, trying to encircle us," Cornelius reported.

"We cannot let them encircled us. Cornelius, adjust targeting. We need to finish this," Lucullus ordered.

"The APFSDS-T round is loaded, Sir," Claudius responds.

"Target acquired. Range: 1,700 meters. Ready to fire," Cornelius confirmed.

"Fire!" Lucullus commanded.

The Panther II's cannon roared again, the APFSDS-T round striking a coming Jaguar I. The shot was precise, the enemy tank stopping dead in its tracks as the round penetrated its engine compartment and fuel tank, causing it to erupt into flames.

"Direct hit! The enemy smaller tank is neutralized," Cornelius reported.

"Excellent. Keep it up," Lucullus encouraged.

Sometimes, enemy Jaguar I and II try to hit Panther II. However, because of the reinforced nanocomposite armor of Panther II, all APDS rounds from 105 mm KwK L/52 and 128 KwK L/52 cannons of Jaguar I and II could not penetrate Panther II's frontal, side and rear armor.

As the Panther IIs continued their assault, the enemy forces were thrown into disarray. The precision and firepower of the Panther IIs, combined with the disciplined coordination of Lucullus' unit, left the enemy with no chance to regroup or mount an effective counterattack.

As the armored units advanced, they encountered the disoriented and regrouping enemy forces. The shots rang out, the Panther IIs' cannons firing with devastating accuracy. Enemy panzers, Jaguar I and Jaguar II resembling Panzerkampfwagen E-50 and E-75 tanks, were hit, their armor crumpling under the powerful impacts.

"Praefectus Lucullus, we have reports of enemy infantry trying to regroup behind the remaining panzers. Should we engage?" Herodotus, the Commander of another Panther II unit, inquired.

"Yes, Herodotus. Herodotus, you target the infantry positions with your secondary weapons. Ensure they cannot support their armor unit. Cornelius, you are shooting those enemy positions with our 130 mm cannon and suppressed enemy infantry with our coaxial machine gun." Lucullus ordered.

The Panther IIs' secondary weapons, a mix of coaxial MG42 machine guns and automatic grenade launchers, opened up on the enemy infantry. The combined firepower mowed down the enemy soldiers, preventing them from providing any meaningful support to their remaining tanks.

The legionnaires now dominated the battlefield, their superior tactics and technology proving decisive. Lucullus and his unit had achieved a significant victory, dismantling the enemy's armored forces and breaking their will to fight.

The Puma IFVs targeted enemy blitz trucks and infantry, their autocannons shredding through lighter armor and personnel.

Valerius' infantry followed closely behind the armor, using the cover provided by the advancing tanks and IFVs. The legionnaires moved with practiced efficiency, securing each position and eliminating any pockets of resistance. Flavius and his Sniper Centurion team provided overwatch, their precise shots picking off enemy officers and critical targets, further disrupting the enemy's ability to coordinate a response.

Strategically placed machine gun nests provided suppressive fire, keeping the enemy infantry pinned down and unable to mount an effective counterattack. The combined firepower and coordination of the armored and infantry units created a deadly synergy, overwhelming the enemy forces.

Valerius watched as Lucullus and his armored units tore through the enemy lines, creating the perfect opportunity for his infantry to move in and secure the battlefield. He turned to his men, ready to give the command to bring them into the heart of the fight.

"Infantry, advance! Use the cover provided by the armor and eliminate any resistance. Puma IFVs provide supporting fire and engage enemy mechanized units. Flavius, I need your Sniper Centurion team to counter any enemy snipers and take out high-value targets. Move out!" Valerius commanded, his voice strong and steady.

The infantry surged forward, following the protective cover of the Panther IIs and Puma IFVs. The Pumas, with their autocannons and anti-tank guided missiles, moved in tandem with the foot soldiers, their weapons laying down a deadly barrage of fire on enemy positions. The autocannons shredded through enemy blitz trucks and mechanized infantry vehicles, causing chaos among the disoriented enemy ranks.

Valerius' men moved precisely, utilizing their training to advance swiftly and efficiently. They cleared each position methodically, ensuring no enemy soldiers were left behind to regroup. The coordinated advance created a relentless momentum, pushing the enemy back with each step.

"Enemy mechanized infantry to the west, approximately 400 meters out!" one of Valerius' scouts reported.

"Puma IFVs, engage those targets! Infantry, prepare to move in and mop up any survivors," Valerius ordered.

The Pumas swung their turrets toward the reported enemy positions, their autocannons barking out a rapid stream of fire. The sound of "Drap drap drap drap drap" from the 30 mm autocannon became the sound of death for the enemy infantry and mechanized units. Enemy mechanized units, caught off guard by the ferocity of the attack, were quickly disabled or destroyed. Valerius' infantry moved in behind the Pumas, their rifles and machine guns ready to finish the job.

Two Jaguar I panzers suddenly engage the Puma of Valerius's unit when they try to engage enemy infantry.

"Enemy tank at 2 and 3 o'clock. Damn, they are all ready to shoot. Ready to embrace the impact and take cover." Valerius ordered his crews in Puma IFV and infantry around the Puma IFV.

Then, two of the Jaguars I shot their APDS rounds of 105 mm KwK L/52 to the front armor of Valerius Puma IFV. However, the reinforced frontal armor of Puma IFV could deflect, and the APDS rounds of 105 mm KwK could not penetrate the armor. Thanks to reinforced and modified activated armor from nanomaterial and nanocomposite technology, the effective thickness of Puma IFV is higher than standard Puma IFV.

The standard Puma IFV has an effective thickness of approximately 600 – 700 mm RHA against kinetic energy penetrator and up to 1000 mm RHA against shaped charges. The armor of standard Puma IFV also has 340 mm explosive reactive armor (ERA) and 250 mm non-explosive reactive armor (NERA) [11-12]. The legionnaire's Puma IFV reinforced active armor from nanomaterials, and nanocomposite has an effective thickness of approximately 780 – 910 mm RHA and 450 mm NERA against kinetic energy penetrator and up to 1300 mm RHA and 350 mm NERA against shaped charges. Even modified Puma IFV could withstand APFSDS rounds from 120 mm 21st century main battle tanks.

"Ready the anti-tank guided missiles. Lock on the enemy tanks and destroy them." Valerius orders his crew to launch anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).

"Yes, Praefectus. Preparing the anti-tank guided missiles." One of the Puma crew was preparing the modified Spike-LR ATGM.

Standard Spike-LR ATGM has a penetration power of approximately 700 - 900 mm RHA [13]. Modified Spike-LR ATGM with nanomaterial has a penetration power of 910 – 1170 mm RHA. This penetration power could penetrate Jaguar I and Jaguar II, even some modern main battle tanks.

"Fire!" Valerius orders to fire the Modified Spike-LR ATGM to destroy enemy Jaguar I.

The advanced guided system enabled the missile's HEAT shell to penetrate and destroy the enemy Jaguar 1 panzers.

"Excellent work, legions. Move out and continue to engage the enemy position," Valerius orders from his infantry unit.

In the rear of the advancing unit, Commander Dietrich, watching his advanced armored and infantry unit, was wiped out by the legionnaires. His face turns grim while facing more advanced enemy units. Several reports show that their Jaguar I and II gun cannot penetrate Panther II MBT and Puma IFV.

"Kommandant, wir können die feindliche gepanzerte Einheit nicht durchdringen. Ihre Panzer und Schützenpanzer sind fortschrittlicher als Nebelparder und Honigdachs, obwohl sie ähnlich aussehen. Selbst unsere APDS-Granaten aus 105 mm und 128 mm Kanonen können ihre vordere, seitliche und hintere Panzerung nicht durchdringen. (Commander, we cannot penetrate the enemy armored unit. Their panzers and IFVs are more advanced than Nebelparder and Honigdachs, although they look similar. Even our APDS round from 105 mm and 128 mm cannons cannot penetrate their frontal, side, and rear armor.)" One of the subordinates reports to Dietrich.

"Was? Wie können unsere APDS-Granaten ihre seitliche und hintere Panzerung nicht durchdringen? Ich kann verstehen, wenn wir die dicke Frontpanzerung nicht durchdringen können, aber wie ist es möglich, dass wir die dünne Panzerung der Seite und des Hecks des Feindes nicht durchdringen können? (What? How could our APDS rounds cannot penetrate their side and rear armor? I can still understand if we cannot penetrate thick frontal armor, but how can we not penetrate the thin amor of the enemy side and rear?)" Dietrich was surprised they could not penetrate Panther II's side and rear armor.

Dietrich did not know that Panther II has side and rear effective thickness armor at 650 – 780 mm for side armor and 390 – 455 mm for rear armor. Even though ambush is possible, Jaguar I and Jaguar II still cannot penetrate Panther II armor from the side and rear.

(If we cannot penetrate their armor, I assume their armor resembles our Panzerkampfwagen Löwe I and Löwe II. However, we could still penetrate Löwe I and Löwe II side and rear armor with our APDS round from 105 mm KWK L/52 to 128 mm KWK/52. So, the enemy armor is more advanced than our Löwe II armor.)" Dietrich is assuming the Panther II capabilities.

Suddenly, the feeling of death approached him. He knows that their outdated weapons and vehicles cannot defeat tanks that are more advanced than their most advanced panzer, Löwe II. Even Löwe II head to head with Panther II, the chance of defeat is higher because Panther II's armor is more advanced than Löwe II's.

Like commander Keitel, Dietrich feels this mission is useless in the same way. If he can, he must return to the vaterland to inform the Führer not to threaten and be hostile against United Terran. Even though defeat is inevitable, he still shows the courage of the officer of Angriffmacht to fight to the end. However, he still orders his unit to retreat if their position is at a disadvantage and the fighting is futile.

While advancing and engaging the enemy soldiers, some Black Shadow snipers on the high ground are ready to kill the legionnaires. Aware of the enemy's capability and weapons, Valerius thinks the enemy sniper might ambush and kill his legions. So, he orders his sniper unit to conduct counter-sniping missions.

"Flavius, we need overwatch. Ensure no enemy snipers can take potshots at our men," Valerius called over the radio.

"Understood, Praefectus. We are in position," Flavius replied.

Flavius and his Sniper Centurion team had taken up a strategic vantage point, providing a clear line of sight over the battlefield. Flavius scanned the area through his scope, his trained eyes searching for any sign of enemy snipers. A glint of light caught his attention—a sniper's scope reflecting the sunlight.

"Enemy sniper, on the high ground near the pine tree to the southeast," Flavius whispered to his spotter, adjusting his aim.

"Range: 900 meters. Wind: 5 knots from the west," his spotter confirmed.

Flavius took a deep breath, steadied his aim, and squeezed the trigger. The Accuracy International AXMC sniper rifle bucked against his shoulder, sending a high-velocity round downrange. The enemy sniper, oblivious to his impending doom, never saw the shot coming. The round struck true, taking the enemy sniper out with a precise hit.

"Target neutralized," Flavius reported, scanning for more threats.

Valerius continued to direct his men. The coordinated assault left the enemy with no time to regroup or counterattack. The Puma IFVs provided continuous suppressive fire, their autocannons mowing down enemy infantry and mechanized units. The legionnaires pressed their advantage, moving from cover to cover and systematically clearing each position.

"Enemy mechanized infantry attempting to flank from the northeast!" another scout reported.

"Adjust fire! Puma IFVs engage the flanking units. Infantry, hold your positions and prepare to repel the attack," Valerius ordered.

The Pumas swiftly turned to face the new threat, their autocannons chattering as they fired upon the flanking enemy units. The infantry dug in, using the terrain and debris for cover as they prepared to repel the incoming assault. Valerius' men fired in controlled bursts, their rifles and machine guns creating a wall of lead that cut down the advancing enemy soldiers.

"Flavius, we need you to take out their officers. They are trying to coordinate a counterattack," Valerius called.

"On it, Praefectus," Flavius responded, already scanning for targets.

Flavius spotted an enemy officer, Commander Dietrich, shouting orders through his scope, trying to rally his men. He adjusted his aim, compensating for the distance and wind, and fired. The officer went down, the bullet piercing his chest and dropping him instantly. The enemy soldiers, now leaderless and disorganized, faltered under the relentless pressure from Valerius' forces.

With the neutralized enemy flanking manoeuvre, Valerius signaled to advance again. The legionnaires moved precisely, and their combined arms approach proved devastatingly effective. The Puma IFVs continued covering fire, and their autocannons and missiles ensured no enemy units could mount meaningful resistance.

As the battle raged on, Valerius' infantry secured each position, their disciplined advance leaving no room for the enemy to recover. The battlefield was a scene of utter devastation, with burning wrecks and fallen soldiers marking the path of the legion's relentless assault.

Meanwhile, back at the command center, Maximus monitored the battle closely. "Drusus, maintain your artillery fire on their rear positions. Keep them from reinforcing their front lines. We must keep the pressure on," he ordered.

"Yes, Legatus. Artillery units, adjust fire to the new coordinates and continue the bombardment," Drusus responded, relaying the orders. The PzH 2000s and M777 Howitzers fired another salvo, their shells landing precisely on the enemy's rear positions, further hampering their ability to regroup and reinforce.

The battlefield was a scene of controlled chaos, with the legionnaires' disciplined advance contrasting sharply with the enemy's disorganized and panicked response. The relentless pressure from Maximus' forces thwarted the enemy's attempts to bring their anti-aircraft units into position.

As the legionnaires pushed forward, the sight of the enemy's devastation fueled their determination. With Commander Dietrich eliminated, the Black Shadow soldiers were left leaderless and in disarray. Maximus seized this advantage, knowing it was crucial to press on and break the enemy's will to fight.

"Valerius, Lucullus, continue the advance. We must finish them off and secure the area. Show no mercy to those who resist," Maximus commanded over the radio.

"Understood, Legatus. We will crush any remaining resistance," Lucullus responded, his voice filled with resolve.

"Infantry, prepare to advance. Clear every position and eliminate any enemy soldiers. We leave no threats behind," Valerius ordered, his men responding with a unified shout.

The Panther IIs and Puma IFVs continued their assault, their cannons and autocannons firing relentlessly. Enemy vehicles and fortifications crumbled under the relentless onslaught. The Black Shadow soldiers, now leaderless and demoralized, could not mount an effective defense. The legionnaires advanced precisely, and their superior tactics and coordination proved unstoppable.

As the legionnaires moved through the battlefield, they encountered pockets of Black Shadow soldiers attempting to regroup. These desperate attempts were met with swift and deadly force. The Panther IIs' cannons roared, their APFSDS-T rounds easily piercing enemy armor. The Puma IFVs' autocannons shredded through infantry and light vehicles, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

"Lucullus, we have enemy infantry trying to stand near the position to the east. Take them out," Valerius relayed, coordinating the attack.

"Consider it done. Panther IIs target the position. Puma IFVs provide suppressive fire. Infantry, prepare to move in and clear the area," Lucullus ordered.

The Panther IIs adjusted their turrets, their 130 mm smoothbore cannons firing in unison. Once a stronghold for the enemy, the position was reduced to rubble. The Black Shadow soldiers, caught in the open, were mowed down by the Puma IFVs' autocannons. Valerius' infantry moved in swiftly, their rifles and machine guns eliminating any survivors.

"Flavius, keep an eye out for any snipers or hidden threats. We need to ensure the area is completely secure," Valerius directed.

"On it, Praefectus. We are scanning the area," Flavius responded, his Sniper Centurion team maintaining overwatch.

As the battle raged on, the legionnaires' relentless assault broke the enemy's will to fight. Realizing they stood no chance, the remaining Black Shadow soldiers in the frontlines began to surrender. One by one, they dropped their weapons and raised their hands in surrender, hoping to save their lives. However, the Black Shadow in the rear, who had already retrieved a retreat order from Commander Dietrich, could retreat in time.

"Legatus Maximus, the remaining enemy soldiers in the frontline are surrendering. However, some soldiers in their rear had already retreated from the battlefield. What are your orders?" Valerius reported.

"Accept their surrender. Disarm them and secure the area. Ensure they pose no further threat. For the retreated enemy, let them be. There is no honor in pursuing and killing the retreated enemy. Let other our brothers and sisters finish them off." Maximus replied, a note of satisfaction in his voice.

The legionnaires swiftly moved to disarm the surrendering soldiers, securing the area and ensuring no hidden threats. The battlefield, once a scene of fierce combat, now fell silent as the last pockets of resistance were extinguished.

Maximus surveyed the battlefield, the sight of the burning wrecks and fallen enemies a testament to the legion's might. "Another glorious victory for the legionnaires," he thought, pride swelling in his chest.

"Valerius, Lucullus, you have done well. Ensure the prisoners are secured and treated fairly. We will need to interrogate them for any valuable intelligence," Maximus ordered his tone now more composed.

"Yes, Legatus. We will handle the prisoners and secure the area," Lucullus responded, his voice carrying the same sense of accomplishment.

The legionnaires, now victorious, began securing the battlefield and tending to their wounded. The captured Black Shadow soldiers, now prisoners, were escorted to a secure location. The legionnaires' efficient and disciplined approach ensured that the area was quickly brought under control.

As the dust settled, Maximus knew this victory would send a powerful message to their enemies. The legionnaires had once again proven their superiority, and the Black Shadow soldiers had been decisively defeated. With the enemy's forces shattered and their will to fight broken, the path to further liberation of Noplos City, Pampoi City and Colobria City lay before them.

Maximus allowed himself a moment of reflection, knowing that this victory was just one step in their more extensive campaign. There would be more battles to fight and more enemies to defeat. However, the legionnaires could celebrate another hard-earned triumph, their spirits high and their resolve unshaken.

"Legionnaires, you have fought bravely and with honor. This victory belongs to all of you. Rest and prepare for our campaign to continue. We will not stop until we have secured complete and total victory," Maximus declared, his voice echoing across the battlefield.

The legionnaires cheered, their voices rising in a triumphant chorus. They had faced the enemy head-on and emerged victorious. Their bond, forged in the heat of battle, would carry them forward to even more outstanding achievements.

The Border of Cosorto and Noplos Region, Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 9:00 pm

The remaining Commander Dietrich unit regrouped with Captain Petrenko and Mr. 08 in the small village around the Cosorto and Noplos border. In the dimly lit village at the border of the Cosorto and Noplos regions, the atmosphere was heavy with the weight of recent events. Now leaderless, the fifty-five remaining soldiers from Commander Dietrich's unit gathered with Captain Petrenko and Mr. 08. The village was a temporary sanctuary, providing a brief respite before the next inevitable confrontation.

One of Dietrich's men, a grizzled veteran named Sergeant Karl, stepped forward, his voice steady despite the tension.

"Sir, we faced overwhelming odds. The enemy's advanced weapons and equipment caught us off guard. Our losses were significant, and our ammunition was running low. We need a plan." Karl reports to Dietrich

Petrenko nodded, acknowledging the harsh reality of their situation. "Understood, Sergeant. We must be strategic in our movements. We cannot afford another confrontation with such a well-equipped enemy. Our best chance is to use the terrain to our advantage and move under cover of darkness."

Captain Petrenko, his face etched with exhaustion but determination, addressed the gathered troops. "Men, we have suffered a setback but are not defeated. We will regroup and continue our mission. Mr. 08, can you update us on the status of our objective?"

"Our primary objective to disable the enemy jammer was a success. However, we must remain vigilant. I assume the enemy operative could be mobilizing to pursue and engage us. Based on Commander Ivankov's and Commander Tarkov's previous engagements, the enemy operatives also utilize advanced weapons and equipment. We need to stay vigilant." Mr. 08, adjusting his gear, stepped forward and informed about the potential of UT ISIA native agents to engage and pursue them.

"You are right, Mr. 08. Commander Ivankov also tells me about the enemy's advanced weapons. However, we could still defeat them with tactics. Their weapons are on par with our advanced weapons. Unfortunately, we only utilize outdated weapons but could still defeat them." Petrenko responds.

Mr. 08 interjected, "I have an idea. Based on the local informant, the village here is close to a network of underground tunnels used historically by the local resistance. If we can find these tunnels, we can use them to move undetected and perhaps set up an ambush for enemy operatives."

Sergeant Karl and a few others nodded in agreement. "It is a risky plan, but it is our best shot," Karl said.

As the group prepared to move, Petrenko addressed them once more. "We will split into two groups. Group A, led by Sergeant Karl, will scout the village for the entrance to the tunnels. Group B will stay with me and Mr. 08 to prepare defenses and keep watch for any signs of the enemy."

The soldiers quickly organized themselves, each knowing the gravity of their situation. Group A fanned out through the village, searching for any signs of the hidden tunnels, while Group B set up makeshift defenses and prepared for a potential confrontation. They also prepared their AS-102 assault rifles with suppressors, SV-98 Sniper rifles with suppressors, and KP-443 pistols to engage the UT ISIA native agents.

Several kilometers from the small village, Agent I and her team approached Mr. 08 and Captain Petrenko's units. Agent I teams came with their modern equipment, SIG MCX Spear assault rifles with suppressors, Accuracy International AXSR sniper rifles with suppressors, and SIG P229 Legion pistols. She brings twenty UT ISIA native agents, including her, to hunt down and capture the remaining Black Shadow forces.

"Mam, the enemy is already moving southeast from the small village ten kilometers away. Based on the thermal and visual detection from the recon drone, we assume there are more than seventy people ahead. Around fifty-five are the remaining soldiers from the previous army that attacked Copoa Town, while the remaining, we assume, are the enemy elite operatives." Agent C reports to Agent I.

"Based on their weapons and equipment, similar to the enemy operatives who engage with Agent V in the Pampoi Region and Agent L in the Noplos Region. I understand why Mr Bean sent us more advanced weapons and equipment to engage this enemy. Also, he ordered that we were free to engage, and failure was not an option." Agent I responds.

"As far as I know, that small village has a secret underground tunnel that was used long ago. The enemy will use that tunnel to escape to Noplos City." Agent Z comments about the existence of the secret tunnel.

"That is no good. Agent C, I want you to make a perimeter with our sniper squads, ready to cover us and counter enemy snipers. Agent Z, you go through to the final destination of the tunnel. Ensure to cooperate with Agent L and ambush the enemy. Agent W, you lead our vanguard unit to engage the enemy. I and the rest of the agents will try to flank the enemy and monitor the condition of this mission. Remember, take caution during this mission; failure is not an option." Agent I order all of her agents.

"Greetings, Agent I. This is Agent L. My subordinates were already prepared to go to the target location. ETA 30 minutes, over." Then, Agent L from the Noplos Region contacted Agent I.

"Greetings, Agent L. Thank you for your cooperation. Some of my subordinates will go to your location and join you to ambush the retreated enemy. Please guide them carefully." Agent I politely asked Agent L to guide her subordinates in this mission.

"Rest assured, my dear. After we successfully win this civil war, do you want to go on date with me?" Agent L tries to seduce Agent I.

"Please focus on the mission, Agent L. I will answer you after we successfully finish this mission." Agent I responds and closes the call.

"All right, ladies and gentlemen. We move out and show our dominance to the enemy." Agent I order her agents to start the missions.

Small Village, Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 10:00 pm

The tension in the village was palpable as the remaining forces of Captain Petrenko and Mr. 08 made their final preparations. The knowledge that enemy agents were closing in added a sense of urgency to their actions. The dim light of dusk provided some cover, but everyone knew the cover of darkness was their best ally.

Sergeant Karl and Group A moved swiftly but cautiously through the village, scanning for any signs of the underground tunnels that Mr. 08 had mentioned. The locals had once used these tunnels for resistance movements, and finding them was their best hope for survival and a strategic advantage.

"Over here," whispered one of Karl's men, pointing to a slightly sunken area behind an old barn. Upon closer inspection, they found a hidden trapdoor, partially concealed by dirt and vegetation. Karl gestured for his men to clear the area and prepare to open the entrance.

Captain Petrenko and Mr. 08 coordinated their efforts at the main defensive position. They knew that time was not on their side.

"Sergeant Karl has found the entrance to the tunnels," one of Karl's men said over the radio. "We are securing the perimeter and preparing to move."

"Good work," replied Petrenko. "Get everyone ready to move through the tunnels. We need to stay ahead of the enemy."

Sergeant Karl led the first group through the narrow, dark tunnels. The air was thick with the musty smell of earth and the tension of the impending confrontation. Despite the lack of modern weapons, the soldiers' determination was palpable.

"Stay close and keep quiet," Karl instructed. "We move quickly and stay together."

The tunnels twisted and turned, creating a labyrinth that was both a refuge and a potential death trap. The sounds of distant movement and occasional whispers echoed through the underground passages.

Agent I and her team were methodical in their approach. They moved with the precision and coordination of a well-oiled machine, setting up sniper positions and preparing for the ambush. Her command was clear: no room for error or tolerance for failure.

"Agent C, establish the perimeter and monitor any movement. Agent Z, make sure the tunnel exits are covered. We cannot afford any surprises," ordered Agent I.

Agent I's team settled into their positions as the minutes ticked by, ready for the engagement. Communication with Agent L and coordinating their efforts would be crucial to ensure that no one from Petrenko's unit escapes their grasp.

Small Village, Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 10:30 pm

Sergeant Karl and his team navigated the tunnels cautiously, guided by the dim glow of their tactical flashlights. Every step echoed through the confined space, amplifying the tension. They knew that their survival depended on speed and silence.

"Sir, we are approaching a junction," whispered one of Karl's men, checking the map they had pieced together from local intel.

Karl nodded, signaling for the team to halt. "We need to be sure we are on the right path. Check for any markings or signs that could indicate the way."

One of the soldiers crouched down, brushing away dirt from the walls. "Here, Sir. This looks like an old resistance symbol. We should follow this direction."

"Good work. Let us move."

Meanwhile, back at the village entrance, Captain Petrenko and Mr. 08 monitored their progress. Petrenko's brow furrowed as he considered their situation. The odds were against them, but they had no choice but to press on.

"Captain, Group A has successfully entered the tunnels," reported one of the scouts. "They are making good progress."

"Excellent. We will follow once they have secured the exit. Stay sharp, everyone. The enemy could strike at any moment."

In the distance, approaching footsteps made the soldiers tense up. They knew the enemy was closing in. Petrenko exchanged a look with Mr. 08, both understanding the gravity of their predicament.

"Prepare to move out," Petrenko ordered. "We need to be ready to support Group A if they encounter resistance."

Agent I and her team rushed as the leading group prepared to enter the tunnels. They set up sniper positions, ensuring clear lines of sight on the village and the surrounding area. The quiet hum of their thermal imaging equipment starkly contrasted with the tense silence.

"Agent Z, report your status," Agent I commanded over the comms.

"We have secured the tunnel exits, ma'am. No sign of the enemy yet, but we are ready for them."

"Good. Agent W, how is the vanguard?"

"We are in position and ready to engage. Just give the word."

"Hold your positions. We must catch them in the open, where they will be most vulnerable."

Agent I's calm demeanour masked the fierce determination that drove her. She knew that failure was not an option. The capture of Petrenko's unit would be a significant blow to the enemy's morale and capabilities.

Karl's team finally reached a large chamber inside the tunnels that served as a crossroads. He held up a hand, signaling for silence. The distant rumble of footsteps and faint voices indicated that the enemy was closing on their position.

"Hold here," Karl whispered. "We need to wait for the others to catch up. Be ready for anything."

As the soldiers took cover, the tension grew palpable. Each passing second felt like an eternity. The sound of approaching footsteps grew louder, signaling that the enemy was getting closer.

Above ground, Agent I coordinated her team's efforts, ensuring that every exit was covered. "Agent C, any movement?"

"Negative, ma'am. All quiet on our end."

"Stay vigilant. The enemy is clever. They will not make this easy for us."

In the tunnels, Petrenko and Mr. 08 led the remaining soldiers through the dark passages, guided by Karl's radio updates. The weight of the situation pressed heavily on their shoulders. They knew that every step brought them closer to a potential ambush.

"We are nearing the junction," Petrenko said quietly. "Stay alert. We could be walking into a trap."

The soldiers moved with heightened awareness, their senses on edge. As they approached the chamber where Karl's team waited, the air grew thick with anticipation.

Suddenly, a distant explosion echoed through the tunnels, followed by gunfire. The soldiers tensed, readying their weapons.

"Enemy contact!" Karl's voice crackled over the radio. "Engage and hold the line!"

Petrenko and Mr. 08 quickened their pace, knowing they had to reach Karl's position before it was too late. The sound of battle grew louder, a chaotic symphony of conflict reverberating through the tunnels.

As they burst into the chamber, they were met with a scene of intense combat. Karl's team was in a fierce firefight with native agents, their weapons flashing in the dim light.

"Covering fire!" Petrenko shouted, raising his AS-102 assault rifle and joining the fray. The soldiers fanned out, taking up defensive positions and quickly returning fire.

Mr. 08, moving with calculated efficiency, provided support, his eyes scanning for any sign of the enemy's movements. "We need to push them back and secure the exit!"

The battle raged on, a deadly dance of bullets and strategy. Petrenko's men fought with the desperation of those who knew their lives depended on it, their determination unwavering despite the overwhelming odds.

Above ground, Agent I monitored the situation, her mind racing as she coordinated the attack. "Agent C, what is your status?"

"We have visual on the enemy. Engaging now."

"Good. Keep them pinned down. We cannot let them escape."

As the minutes ticked by, the tide of battle began to turn. Despite their outdated equipment, Petrenko's soldiers fought relentlessly, using the terrain to their advantage. The UT ISIA native operatives, led by Agent W, hold their position. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and they could kill some Black Shadow soldiers.

Agent W and his unit utilize hit-and-hold tactics. After killing some enemy soldiers, they do not pursue and let the enemy continue moving in the first contact. They will continue to engage after getting approval from Agent I. They allow the Black Shadow soldiers to exhaust their stamina and mental.

"Hold the line!" Petrenko shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. "We can do this!"

After taking fire, the firing from the native agent's side suddenly stops. Petrenko then utilizes this chance to regroup and continue their advances.

"Regroup and prepare to move out," Petrenko ordered, breathing heavily. "We need to keep moving. The enemy will not give up that easily."

As they prepared to continue their journey through the tunnels, the knowledge that Agent I and her team were still out there, waiting to strike, weighed heavily on their minds. The battle was far from over, and the road ahead was dangerous.

Small Village, Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 11:00 pm

The dim tunnels echoed with heavy breathing and the occasional boot scrape against the stone. Petrenko's forces, though momentarily holding the advanced of native agents vanguard, were acutely aware of the fragility of their situation. They moved swiftly, knowing the enemy would soon regroup and launch another assault.

Above ground, Agent I's team maintained their tight perimeter around the village. The adcanced thermal imaging equipment and drone from the native agents who pursue the Black Shadow, revealed movements below, clearly showing the enemy's attempts to navigate the underground maze.

"Agent C, report," Agent I commanded, her voice steady.

"Ma'am, we have visual confirmation of the enemy's position. They are moving deeper into the tunnels. We are ready to engage with you regarding your order. I will order my squad to encircle them and join Agent Z to give sniper cover." replied Agent C, preparing his SIG MCX Spear. In contrast, his units prepared Accuracy International AXSR sniper rifles at the ready.

"Proceed with caution. Engage and neutralize any threats. Agent W, you will lead the vanguard. Ensure that our flank is secure and continue to engage the enemy." Agent I order Agent C and Agent W

"Understood, Agent I," Agent W responded. Armed with their SIG MCX Spear assault rifles, his team moved precisely, slipping into the tunnels and advancing toward the enemy's position.

In the tunnels, Petrenko and Mr. 08 led their men through the labyrinthine passageways. The oppressive darkness was occasionally pierced by the flickering light of their tactical flashlights. Suddenly, the crackle of gunfire erupted again from behind them. Agent W units continued to shoot the Petrenko unit and tried to kill more of their units.

"Contact rear!" shouted one of Petrenko's men, raising his AS-102 assault rifle and returning fire. The confined space amplified the sound of the gunshots, creating a deafening roar.

Agent W and his team moved ruthlessly and continued their previous engagement, their SIG MCX Spear assault rifles blazing with silent sounds. Their weapons' advanced optics and suppressors gave them a distinct advantage in the low-light conditions.

"Push forward! Do not let them regroup!" Agent W shouted, his voice echoing through the tunnel.

Petrenko and Mr. 08 fought back with everything they had. The AS-102 assault rifles, though outdated compared to the enemy's weapons, were handled with the expertise of countless battles. The narrow passageways limited movement, forcing both sides into a brutal close-quarters fight.

"We need to keep moving!" Petrenko ordered, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of battle. "Mr. 08, you go. I will cover your retreat!"

Mr. 08 nodded and continued advancing when Petrenko and his unit took a defensive position. The soldiers moved swiftly, and their tactical training was evident in their disciplined retreat.

Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 11:20 pm

Further along the tunnel network, Sergeant Karl and his unit were engaged in a desperate struggle. Agent Z's team's SIG MCX Spear and AXSR sniper rifles proved formidable, their advanced optics and suppressors turning the underground passages into a lethal hunting ground.

"Sniper! Take cover!" Karl shouted as a bullet narrowly missed his head, striking the wall behind him.

His men scattered, seeking whatever cover they could find in the cramped space. The AS-102 assault rifles barked in response, but the superior range and accuracy of the AXSR sniper rifles made every exposed position a deadly risk.

"Stay low and return fire!" Karl ordered, his voice calm despite the chaos. "We need to keep them pinned down!"

Agent Z's team moved with the precision of predators, using the shadows and advanced equipment to their advantage. The MCX Spear assault rifles and AXSR sniper rifles picked off Karl's men one by one, each shot echoing through the tunnels.

"We are losing too many men!" one of Karl's soldiers shouted, his voice tinged with panic.

"Hold your ground!" Karl responded, his resolve unshaken. "We cannot let them push us back!"

The battle raged on, each side fighting with a ferocity born of desperation. In the darkness of the tunnels, the clash of old and new weaponry created a deadly symphony. Each shot is a testament to the soldiers' resolve on both sides.

Above ground, Agent I monitored the progress of her teams, her mind racing as she coordinated the assault. "Agent Z, status report."

"Engaging enemy at close range. Resistance is strong, but we are holding," Agent Z replied, his voice calm.

"Maintain pressure. We cannot allow them to regroup," Agent I ordered.

Back in the tunnels, the intensity of the firefight continued to escalate. Petrenko and Mr. 08, their backs against the wall, fought with the determination of those who knew there was no retreat.

"We need to find another way out," Mr. 08 said, his voice strained.

"Agreed," Petrenko replied. "But we must hold this position until Karl's team can break through."

In the chaos, Sergeant Karl's voice crackled over the radio. "We are pinned down but holding. If you can create a diversion, we might be able to flank them."

Petrenko nodded, formulating a plan. "Mr. 08, we need to draw their fire. Give Karl the opening he needs."

With a final, determined glance, Petrenko and Mr. 08 launched their counterattack, their AS-102 assault rifles blazing. The narrow confines of the tunnel turned into a deadly corridor, bullets ricocheting off the walls as both sides fought for survival.

While monitoring the battle, Agent I saw the movement on her commanding device imaging. "All units, focus fire on the new threat. Do not let them escape."

The clash continued, each side pushing its limits. In the dim, echoing tunnels, Petrenko's unit's fate hung in the balance, the outcome uncertain in the face of overwhelming odds.

Noplos Region, 20 April 2141 / 20 Aprilis 1841, 11:30 pm

The echo of gunfire reverberated through the tunnels as Petrenko and Mr. 08 continued their desperate assault. They aimed to draw enough attention to give Karl's team a fighting chance. Every shot was calculated and aimed to kill, creating chaos and confusion for Agent I's forces.

Above ground, Agent I's eyes flicked between multiple screens, monitoring the positions and movements of her agents and the enemy. The situation was tense, but she knew her team's advanced training and equipment would give them the upper hand.

"Agent C, adjust your positions to cut off their retreat. Agent W, continue your push. We need to force them into a corner." Agent I commanded Agent C and Agent W, her voice steady.

"Copy that," Agent C responded, relaying the orders to his squad. They moved swiftly, their SIG MCX Spear assault rifles ready for the next engagement phase.

Petrenko's unit progressed in the tunnels, but the cost was high. Several soldiers had already fallen, their bodies left behind as the unit pushed forward. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and the metallic tang of blood.

"Keep pushing!" Petrenko shouted over the din, his voice hoarse from the exertion. "We need to buy Karl more time!"

Mr. 08, ever the tactician in PRU NKGB and IT expert of Black Shadow, moved methodically, trying to shoot targets with his AS-102 Assault Rifle as possible. "We are running out of time, Captain. We need to find another way to flank them."

Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the tunnel, causing the walls to shudder and bits of debris to rain down. "What was that?" one of Petrenko's men yelled, fear edging into his voice.

Agent I's voice crackled over the radio. "Agent Z, status update."

"Enemy has deployed explosives. We are holding, but they are trying to create new escape routes," Agent Z reported.

"Maintain your positions and reinforce your cover. Do not let them break through. Agent L and his unit will help you," Agent I ordered.

Petrenko and Mr. 08 assessed their dwindling options in the dimly lit tunnels. "We need to regroup with Karl's team. It is our only chance," Mr. 08 suggested.

"Agreed. Fall back to Karl's position! Cover each other and move quickly!" Petrenko ordered his remaining forces.

As they retreated, Petrenko's men laid down suppressing fire, their AS-102 assault rifles spitting rounds at the advancing enemy. The sound of the firefight was deafening, a chaotic symphony of survival.

Meanwhile, Karl's team, still pinned down, received the signal to prepare for a coordinated counterattack. "Get ready to move on, my mark," Karl instructed his men, his eyes scanning for the moment.

"Petrenko's team is moving to our position. We need to hold until they get here." one of Karl's men informed him.

Karl nodded, his mind racing. "Hold your fire until they are in range. We need to hit them hard and fast."

As Petrenko's team neared Karl's position, the combined forces readied themselves for a last-ditch effort to break through. The tension was palpable, every soldier acutely aware of the stakes.

"Now!" Petrenko shouted as they reached Karl's position. The combined firepower of both teams unleashed a torrent of bullets, catching Agent W's unit off guard.

"Push forward! Do not give them time to regroup!" Karl commanded, leading the charge. His men followed, their determination renewed by the presence of their comrades.

Agent W, recognizing the shift in momentum, called for a tactical retreat. "Fall back and regroup at the secondary position! We need to reassess and prepare for a counterstrike!"

The native agents withdrew, their movements disciplined despite the chaos. They are waiting for the right time to push back and finish off Petrenko and his units. Petrenko's and Karl's teams pressed their advantage, forcing the native agents to hold back through the tunnels.

Agent I watched the retreat on her advanced command device, which was connected to the helm camera in every native agent. "They are retreating, but we cannot let them escape. Agent Z cut off their escape routes, and you and Agent L will capture them. Agent C, prepare for a final push. Agent W, check your unit and conduct first aid procedures for the wounded agents." Agent I ordered her agents.

"Understood, ma'am. Agent L and his unit already arrived. We are ready to engage them." Agent Z replied and ordered his squad to intercept the retreating forces. At the same time, he and the rest of the unit waited for the incoming enemy, who successfully escaped from Agent L's unit engagement.

"This is Agent L. Rest assured, dear. Your subordinate will handle the retreated enemy forces with me and my team. Remember for your answer, right?" Agent L tells Agent I.

"Thank you, Agent L. Keep focused on being ready and engaging the enemy." Agent I responds, trying to divert the topic and stay focused during the mission.

In the tunnels, the sense of temporary victory bolstered the spirits of Petrenko's and Karl's men. "We did it!" one soldier exclaimed, his relief evident.

"Do not celebrate yet," Petrenko cautioned. "We are not out of danger. We need to find an exit and regroup."

The enemy's regrouping efforts echoed behind them as they moved deeper into the tunnels. The battle was far from over, and they knew it.

The tunnels were a maze of twisting passageways and intersecting paths. Petrenko and Karl cautiously led their men, knowing native agents of Agent I's forces were still a significant threat. The sense of urgency was palpable, each step bringing them closer to escape or another deadly encounter.

"We need to find an exit quickly," Petrenko muttered to Karl, eyes scanning the dimly lit tunnel ahead.

"I agree, Captain. These tunnels might lead us out but could also be a trap." Karl nodded.

As they moved, Mr. 08 kept a close watch on their rear, ensuring no surprise attacks. "We need to stay alert. The enemy will not give up easily."

Suddenly, they heard the faint sound of footsteps and hushed voices ahead. "Hold up," Karl whispered, raising a hand to signal a halt.

Petrenko motioned for silence, listening intently. The sounds grew closer, and it was clear they were not alone. "Prepare for contact," he whispered, his voice tense.

The team moved into defensive positions, their weapons trained on the approaching sounds. Moments later, figures emerged from the darkness—Agent Ls forces, led by Agent L himself. Unlike Agent I and her team, Agent L still utilized outdated SIG MCX assault rifles.

"Contact front!" Petrenko shouted, opening fire. The tunnel erupted into a chaotic firefight, bullets ricocheting off the stone walls.

A combined unit from Agent L and Agent Z's team, equipped with their advanced SIG MCX Spear assault rifles and SIG MCX assault rifles, returned fire with deadly precision. The confined space amplified the intensity of the battle, and each shot reverberated through the tunnels.

"Push forward! We need to break through!" Petrenko ordered his unit while firing his AS-102 assault rifle.

Karl and his men advanced, their determination unwavering. The battle was fierce, each side fighting with everything they had. The narrow tunnel turned into a killing ground, with nowhere to hide from the relentless onslaught.

Petrenko unit with their AS-102 assault rifles and SVS-98 Assault rifles fighting against Agent L and Agent Z unit with their SIG MCX series. Their fighting resembles black ops fighting between NATO special operatives (CIA, MI6, BND, DGSE) against Iron Curtain special operatives (NKGB Spetnaz, HVA, DGI) during the Cold War era.

However, direct confrontations between NATO special operations forces and Iron Curtain special operations forces were rare in real life. The Cold War was characterized more by espionage, covert operations, and proxy wars rather than direct military engagements between the superpowers or their intelligence and special operations units. Both sides provided training, funding, and equipment to allied nations and insurgent groups, allowing them to fight for their respective ideologies.

Agent I coordinated the efforts, and her voice was calm despite the chaos. "Agent W flanks them and pincers them from the rear. Agent C provide cover and support. Agent Z, prepared if the enemy escaped from the engagement inside the tunnel." Agent I ordered Agent W and Agent I

"Copy that," Agent W responded, his team moving with deadly efficiency to outflank Petrenko's forces.

The situation grew increasingly dire in the tunnels. Petrenko and Karl's men were outnumbered because many of their comrades had fallen from Agent W and Agent Z's unit's initial engagement. Before they entered the tunnel, they outnumbered the native agents, but because of Agent I's diverse and excellent tactics, their number was reduced. Their outdated weapons struggled against the advanced firepower of Agent I and Agent L's forces.

"We cannot hold this position much longer!" Karl shouted over the gunfire, his voice strained.

"Fall back to the next junction!" Petrenko ordered, realizing they needed to regroup and find another way out.

The soldiers retreated, covering each other as they moved. The battle raged on, with Agent I's forces relentlessly pursuing them. The sound of gunfire and explosions filled the tunnels, creating a nightmarish scene of chaos and destruction.

As they reached the next junction, Petrenko and Karl quickly assessed their options. "We need to split up," Petrenko said. "It is our only chance to confuse them and find an exit."

Karl nodded. "Agreed. I will take half the men and go left. You take the rest and go right. We will rendezvous at the designated point."

"Good luck," Petrenko said, gripping Karl's shoulder before they split.

The two groups moved swiftly, each hoping to evade the pursuing enemy. The tunnels twisted and turned, creating a labyrinthine network that was both a refuge and a potential death trap.

As Petrenko's group moved through the darkness, footsteps echoed behind them. "They are still on our tail," Mr. 08 said, his voice tense.

"We need to keep moving," Petrenko replied, pushing his men forward. "There has to be an exit around here somewhere."

The battle for survival continued, with each side determined to outlast the other. Petrenko's unit's fate hung in the balance, and the outcome was uncertain as they navigated the treacherous tunnels of Noplos.

Petrenko's group moved with renewed urgency, knowing time was running out. The sound of pursuing footsteps grew louder, indicating that Agent I's forces were closing in.

"We need to find an exit quickly," Mr. 08 said, eyes scanning the dimly lit tunnel ahead.

"Agreed," Petrenko replied, his voice determined. "Keep moving and stay alert."

As they turned a corner, they saw a faint light at the end of the tunnel. "There! That might be our way out," Petrenko said, his heart pounding with hope.

The group quickened their pace, but the sound of gunfire erupted behind them. "Contact rear!" Mr. 08 shouted, raising his weapon and returning fire.

Agent W's team had caught up, their advanced weapons blazing in the confined space. The battle intensified, the tunnel becoming a deadly corridor of bullets and blood.

"Keep moving! We need to reach that exit!" Petrenko ordered, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of gunfire.

The soldiers pushed forward, their determination unwavering despite the overwhelming odds. The light at the end of the tunnel grew brighter, a beacon of hope in the darkness.

As they reached the exit, they were met with a new challenge. Agent Z's remaining team had set up a blockade, and their weapons were trained on the approaching soldiers.

Aware that the enemy encircles them, they have no choice but to surrender. Petrenko chose the best option for his unit: surrender to the enemy.

"Hold your fire!" Petrenko shouted, raising his hands in a gesture of surrender. "We are surrender. Don't shoot."

Agent Z stepped forward, his face cold and calculating. "You are not going anywhere," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.

The standoff was tense, each side poised to strike. Petrenko knew their chances of survival were slim, but he refused to give up. "We have wounded men. Please, don't kill us."

Unlike Petrenko, Karl and the remaining unit aimed their guns at Agent Z and his team, ready for their final fight at close range.

Agent Z's expression remained unreadable. "You are in no position to negotiate," he said. "Order your unit to surrender now, and you might be spared."

Petrenko's mind raced, weighing their options. The footsteps approaching indicated Agent I's forces were closing in from behind. They were trapped, with no way out.

"All right, all units, drop your weapons," Petrenko said, lowering his weapon. "We surrender."

The soldiers reluctantly followed suit, laying down their arms. The tension in the air was palpable, each side aware of the fragile truce.

Agent Z signaled his team to move forward and secure the prisoners. "Take them into custody," he ordered. "And make sure they are disarmed."

As Petrenko and his men were led away, the realization of their defeat sank in. The battle for the small village of Noplos was over, but the war was far from finished.

Mr. 08, Captain Petrenko, Karl and his remaining unit were taken into custody and brought to the UT ISIA command centre in Aeterna City for interrogation.
