Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 17 November 2140, 09:00 am
After two weeks of training with infantry weapons, such as pistols, submachine guns, assault rifles, machine guns, and rifles, Maximus and his legion started training with heavy weapons. Colonel Ermey, Lieutenant Joker, Lieutenant Pyle, and a platoon of UT army personnel have prepared several M777 howitzers for Maximus and his legion to train.
"Okay, legionnaires. Today, all of you will learn how to 'serve the king of the battle' artillery. We will train you to serve the king based on the United Terran government's decision to export this beast. This old king is an M777 howitzer, the best product of my country, the United States of America (USA), one hundred and fifty (150) years ago. One hundred and fifty-five (155) mm caliber could destroy enemy targets to 40 km."
"Oh my gods, that artillery resembles the magic artillery of the United States of Amarilon (USA). So, United Terran is more advanced than United States of Amarilon by one hundred and fifty (150) years." Heraclius said.
"First, this king is not using magic, but gunpowder. Then what is this United States of Amarilon (USA)? If you said they are behind 150 years of us, so they are a superpower or hyperpower nation? I assume this nation is the magic alternative to my country, right?". Colonel Ermey asked Heraclius.
"Based on Ambassador Luigi and Lucien's information, yes, the United States of Amarilon (USA) is the magic alternative of the county in United Terran, United States of America (USA)," Heraclius responds.
"Oh my God, the magic version of Yankee. It's so interesting. Maybe we can play football and basketball with them. Nevertheless, if they use magic to buff their bodies, we do not stand a chance; that is cheating. Oh man, magic is overpowering in this world." Lieutenant Pyle grumbled.
"Shut up, Lieutenant Pyle. Your tiny brain is only used for grumbling. Even though we can not utilize magic, we can use our brains to develop science and technology. Prepare this old king with your platoon and show the ladies how to operate this beast." Colonel Ermey scolded Lieutenant Pyle and ordered him to prepare the M777 howitzer.
"Sir, yes, Sir." Lieutenant Pyle respond.
Colonel Ermey surveyed the M777 howitzer critically, his authoritative presence commanding the attention of Lieutenant Pyle and his platoon. With a firm nod, he began issuing instructions with the precision of a seasoned leader.
"All right, legionnaires. Let us walk through the firing sequence step by step," Colonel Ermey instructed, his voice firm and authoritative.
"First things first, safety! Before we do anything else, ensure the area is clear of obstructions and personnel. We do not want any accidents. Once the area is secure, check the integrity of the gun and its components. Inspect the barrel, breech, and firing mechanisms for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure that all safety protocols are in place.
Lieutenant Pyle and his platoon performed efficiently in preparing the artillery. Their focus is unwavering as they prepare to execute each step with precision. Maximus and his legions used the enhanced memory magic to improve their understanding of preparing the artillery.
With practiced efficiency, Lieutenant Pyle's platoon completed each task under Colonel Ermey's watchful gaze.
"Next, confirm the coordinates for the target and input them into the fire control system. Adjust the elevation and traverse as needed to acquire your target. Double-check your calculations to ensure accuracy. Remember, accuracy is paramount." Colonel Ermey ordered Lieutenant Pyle to calculate the position of the target.
"Remember, there are several parameters for firing the artillery. First, we must know the target coordinates. We can use spotters from the recon team, unmanned flying drones, or high-altitude observation (satellite, but Ermey did not disclose United Terran space capability). Then, we calculate the artillery elevation based on this planet's azimuth and the target range. We also calculate based on meteorological data, such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and air pressure, which can affect the projectile's trajectory and must be accounted for in calculations. We also include ballistic data, such as the fired projectile, weight, caliber, muzzle velocity, and ballistic coefficient. This data is used to calculate the trajectory of the projectile accurately. Last but not least, information about the target, such as its size, type, and importance, can influence the choice of ammunition and firing strategy." Colonel Ermey explains the parameters before firing the Artillery to Maximus and his legions.
Colonel Ermey watched closely as Lieutenant Pyle punched in the coordinates, ensuring every detail was attended to when firing artillery. Maximus and his legions learned to use manual calculation and advanced computers to calculate the artillery target because the calculation of the target needed an understanding of mathematics, especially trigonometry and geometry. Only Maximus, Heraclius, and ten genius and intelligent legions understand how to operate with manual calculation. To simplify, Colonel Ermey gives them 21st-century computer calculations to calculate the target's position. However, Maximus will push his legions to understand the manual calculation before using computer calculations to know the basic calculation and algorithm for gun-laying artillery.
"Once the target is acquired and the coordinates are set, it is time to load the ammunition. We need to prepare the ammunition based on the target types. If the target is building, we could use a high explosive round, and then if the target is infantry, we could use an anti-personnel round. If the target is a military vehicle such as a tank, IFV, or APC, we could use armor piercing or high explosive anti-tank rounds. We cannot afford any mishaps when it comes to ammunition handling. Remember, safety first. Load the appropriate shell and propellant into the ammunition rack and ensure they are properly secured in the breech. Ensure the breech is closed and locked, and the firing mechanisms are properly set." Colonel Ermey describes the type of ammunition and how to load the artillery shell.
Lieutenant Pyle and his platoon followed Colonel Ermey's instructions meticulously, their experience guiding their every movement. Maximus and his legions learn about the type of ammunition and how to load the artillery shell.
"With the ammunition loaded, it is time to finalize the firing sequence. Double-check all settings and make any necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy."
Colonel Ermey's keen eyes scanned the howitzer, ensuring everything was in order before proceeding.
"Now, legionnaires, it is time to fire. On my command, initiate the firing sequence. Lieutenant Pyle, you are up."
With a steady hand, Lieutenant Pyle followed Colonel Ermey's instructions, initiating the firing sequence with practiced ease.
"Fire!" Colonel Ermey commanded, his voice cutting through the air.
With a thunderous roar, the M777 howitzer unleashed its deadly payload, sending the round hurtling toward its target with deadly accuracy.
"Good shot, legionnaires!" Colonel Ermey exclaimed, a sense of pride evident in his voice. "Now, let us reload and do it again. We have a job, and we will do it right."
With Colonel Ermey's guidance and Lieutenant Pyle's platoon assistance, Maximus and his legions eagerly stepped forward to learn the intricacies of operating the M777 howitzer. Though unfamiliar with modern technology, Maximus and his legions were determined to master the art of artillery warfare because it differed from their standard or magic ballista.
Colonel Ermey, recognizing their enthusiasm and potential, provided patient and thorough instruction, breaking down each step of the firing sequence into manageable tasks.
"All right, legionnaires, listen up," Colonel Ermey began, his voice steady and reassuring. "First, let us start with confirming the target coordinates. Lieutenant Pyle and his team have already inputted the initial data, but I want you to understand the process."
Maximus and his legions gathered around as Colonel Ermey explained the calculations involved in determining the target's position. Though initially daunting, they listened intently, eager to grasp the fundamentals of artillery targeting.
"Now, let us move on to loading the ammunition," Colonel Ermey continued.
"Remember, the type of shell we use depends on the target. Pay close attention to the instructions from Lieutenant Pyle's platoon."
With Lieutenant Pyle's platoon demonstrating the proper handling of ammunition, Maximus and his legions have followed suit, carefully loading the appropriate rounds into the howitzer under Colonel Ermey's watchful eye.
"Good. Now that the ammunition is loaded, let us finalize the firing sequence," Colonel Ermey instructed. "Double-check all settings and ensure everything is in order before proceeding."
Maximus and his legions meticulously inspected the howitzer, ensuring every detail was attended to before moving forward.
"All right, now it is time to fire," Colonel Ermey declared, his voice filled with confidence. "Lieutenant Pyle, I want you to oversee Maximus and his legions as they initiate the firing sequence."
With Lieutenant Pyle's guidance, Maximus and his legions followed the steps of the firing sequence, their movements deliberate and focused.
"Fire!" Colonel Ermey commanded, his voice echoing across the training grounds.
Maximus and his legions watched with anticipation as the M777 howitzer unleashed its deadly payload, sending the round hurtling toward its target. Because this was the first time they operated the artillery, the shoot was missed from the target.
"Excellent work, Maximus and legions!" Colonel Ermey exclaimed, a proud smile gracing his features. "Even though the target was missed, you have shown great skill and determination today. Now, let us reload and continue honing our artillery prowess. The battlefield awaits, and we will be ready." Colonel Ermey encouraged Maximus and his legions.
Then, Maximus and his legions recalculate the target coordinate with manual and computer calculations. They want to compare the results of their training with computer-corrected targets. After recalculation, Maximus and his teams load the shell and propellant again into the artillery. After preparation, they fire again to determine the result of their recalculation. After several trials and errors for days, the result of Maximus and his legion's manual calculation could be similar to the computer calculation and hit the target precisely.
With Colonel Ermey's guidance and the assistance of Lieutenant Pyle's platoon, Maximus, and his legions, they continued to train diligently, determined to become proficient in artillery warfare and serve as valuable assets to the United Terran forces.

"Legatus Maximus, this artillery is more powerful than magic artillery and gunpowder artillery from the United States of Amarilon (USA) and the People's Republic of Uroslav (PRU). If this artillery has already arrived in the homeland, I suggest we mix the gunpowder with fire mana powder. I assumed that if we found a good composition between gunpowder and fire mana powder, we could increase the damage and lethality of the M777 howitzer." Heraclius suggestion to Maximus.
"Excellent suggestion, Heraclius. However, we must ask permission from the United Terran government before starting the shell improvement process. Then, we need to collaborate with our alchemy and magical association to research and improve the damage and lethality of the 155 mm shell. All right, we must discuss this with Colonel Ermey." Maximus said.
Maximus and Heraclius then discuss Heraclius' idea to integrate fire magic powder with artillery shells.
"Heraclius, Maximus, I have to say, this suggestion of incorporating fire mana powder into our artillery is intriguing," Colonel Ermey chimed in, his eyes glinting with interest. "But you are right, Maximus. We cannot proceed without proper permission. We need to get the United Terran government's approval for this."
Maximus nodded in agreement. "Indeed, Colonel. We must ensure that all protocols are followed. However, I believe this could be a groundbreaking advancement in our military capabilities."
Heraclius, eager to see his idea come to fruition, spoke up, "Colonel Ermey, perhaps we could propose a collaboration between the Department of Research and Technology of the United Terran and our Alchemy and Magical Association here in Fortisregnum Empire. By integrating magic powder into the gunpowder weapons from the United Terran, we could potentially enhance their effectiveness significantly."
Colonel Ermey's expression brightened at the suggestion. "That is an excellent idea, Heraclius. A collaboration like this could lead to unprecedented advancements in military technology. We must draft a proposal outlining the potential benefits and research methodology to present to both parties."
Maximus nodded, his mind already racing with the possibilities. "Agreed. Let us convene with our Department of Research and Technology counterparts and begin drafting the proposal immediately. This action could be the start of a new era in warfare."
With a shared sense of determination, the three men set out to make Heraclius's innovative suggestion a reality, laying the groundwork for a collaboration that could change the course of military history.
Even though plasma and rail gun technology surpass the magic and gunpowder technology in the new world, studying the magic field, especially anti-gravity magic, could develop into repulsor lift technology. The repulsor lift technology could improve civil and military purposes, especially for space technology.
Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 23 November 2140, 09:00 am
After finishing the training field artillery of the M777 howitzer, Maximus and his legions were trained to use anti-air artillery to operate the modernized 40 mm Bofors cannon.
"All right, legionnaires. I have already informed our government about the potential collaboration between our Department of Science and Technology and your Alchemy and Magic Association to integrate magic into science weapons. We will await the result of this discussion next month at the conference of the United Terran Government with the World Congress." Colonel Ermey informs Maximus and his legion about the potential collaboration.
"Today, you will train with an anti-air gun, a 40 mm Bofors cannon. This gun is a relic of the Second World War, but this beast was still used until one hundred (100) years ago. This beast could shoot down aircraft, fly drones, and small to medium air beasts such as wyverns, giant birds, and other native beasts. Lieutenant Joker and his platoon will operate this beast for the demonstration, and all of you must watch and learn." Colonel Ermey orders Lietunant Joker and his platoon to operate 40 mm Bofors cannons.
Under Colonel Ermey's watchful eye, Lieutenant Joker and his platoon swiftly demonstrated the operation of the 40 mm Bofors cannon. With precise movements and practiced coordination, they showcased the steps involved in loading, aiming, and firing the anti-air artillery.
"All right, listen up, legionnaires!" Colonel Ermey's voice boomed across the training field as he began to describe the operation procedure of the 40 mm Bofors cannon. "Pay close attention to Lieutenant Joker and his team. They will show you how to handle this weapon effectively."
Lieutenant Joker stepped forward, his demeanor confident and authoritative as he addressed the assembled troops. "First, we will start loading the ammunition into the magazine," he explained, gesturing to the ammunition crates nearby. "Each round must be handled carefully to ensure proper insertion into the magazine."
His platoon began loading the ammunition swiftly, ensuring each round was seated securely before closing the magazine. Meanwhile, another team member adjusted the elevation and azimuth of the cannon, aligning it with the simulated targets in the sky.
"Once the ammunition is loaded, we will track the target using the sighting mechanism," Lieutenant Joker continued, his voice projecting over the training field. "Maintain steady aim and anticipate the target's movement."
With precision and focus, the platoon tracked the flying training drone as simulated targets as they maneuvered through the sky. Lieutenant Joker's instructions were clear and concise, guiding his team through each step of the process.
"Fire when ready," Colonel Ermey commanded, his eyes fixed on the sky as he observed the platoon's performance.
A thunderous boom echoed across the training field as the 40 mm Bofors cannon unleashed its firepower, sending a flurry of rounds hurtling toward the flying training drones. The air crackled with energy as the platoon demonstrated their proficiency with the anti-air artillery.
Maximus and his legion watched intently, absorbing every detail of the demonstration. They understood the importance of mastering this weapon, knowing that their ability to defend against aerial threats could be the difference between victory and defeat on the battlefield. To help them understand how to operate the Bofors cannon, they used magic memory to enhance their understanding of the procedure of the Bofors cannon.
As the demonstration concluded, Colonel Ermey addressed the assembled troops once more. "Remember what you have learned here today, Legionnaires. The 40 mm Bofors cannon may be a relic of the past, but in our hands, it will be a formidable weapon against any airborne threat. Train hard, and be ready for whatever the enemy throws at us."
With renewed determination, Maximus and his legion prepared to hone their skills with the 40 mm Bofors cannon, knowing they were one step closer to being genuinely unstoppable on the battlefield.
With Colonel Ermey's firm guidance, Maximus and his legion embarked on their training journey with the 40 mm Bofors cannon. Lieutenant Joker and his platoon stepped in to assist, providing hands-on instruction and practical demonstrations to help the legionnaires grasp the intricacies of operating the anti-air artillery.
"All right, Legionnaires, listen up!" Lieutenant Joker's voice cut through the training ground, commanding attention. "We will start with the basics. Loading, aiming, and firing. Remember, precision and timing are key."
Under Lieutenant Joker's and his platoon's watchful eyes, Maximus and his legion learned to load the ammunition carefully, ensuring each round was correctly seated in the magazine. They practiced adjusting the elevation and azimuth of the cannon, aligning it with the aerial targets provided by the flying training drones.
The drones zipped through the air with incredible speed, challenging the legionnaires' reflexes and marksmanship. Despite their initial struggles, Maximus and his legion persisted, determined to master the art of anti-air warfare.
"Focus, aim true, and fire!" Colonel Ermey's booming voice urged the legionnaires onward as they aimed the elusive drones.
At first, their shots missed marks, the drones weaving and darting through the sky with remarkable agility. However, Maximus and his legion honed their skills with each attempt, learning to anticipate the drones' movements and adjust their aim accordingly.
Days turned into weeks as Maximus and his legion devoted themselves to the rigorous training regimen. They practiced tirelessly, refining their techniques under the watchful guidance of Colonel Ermey, Lieutenant Joker, and their dedicated instructors.
Furthermore, finally, their efforts began to bear fruit. With steady hands and unwavering determination, Maximus and his legion successfully shot down their first drone. Cheers erupted across the training ground as they celebrated their hard-earned victory.
Colonel Ermey's voice cut through the jubilation, his pride evident as he addressed Maximus and his legion. "Well done, Legionnaires! You have proven yourselves capable of facing any airborne threat that comes your way. However, remember, this is just the beginning. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and continue to strive for excellence."
Maximus and his legion continued their training with newfound confidence and skill, knowing they were now a formidable force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Furthermore, as they faced the challenges ahead, they did so with the unwavering determination of warriors who had honed their craft to perfection.

Figure 2. The art style of Maximus and his legion train with 40 mm Bofors Cannon [2]
"Legatus Maximus, we could annihilate Novacara Empire's strong wyvern lord force and isolationist Sterkraland wyvern overlord with this anti-air gun. Finally, we could give them that bastard Novacara Empire airforce if they tried to invade us again. Their wyvern lords are larger and slower than these flying training drones." Heraclius commented about their success in shooting down the flying training drones.
"You are right, Heraclius. Our defense could have been easy if this cannon had already been exported to us from United Terran. Based on Ambassador Luigi and Lucien, these modern weapons are exported to us for defense purposes. Even Imperio Estelar could not invade us easily, and we could bombard their force when they were ashore. However, we will have a problem shooting down their majestic dragon because of their thick skin. Maybe we could integrate this 40 mm with fire magic powder to improve the damage and lethality." Maximus responds.
"Yes, I hope we can integrate this beast with fire magic powder to improve their damage and lethality. However, one problem is how we transport these heavy cannons. We need many house carriages to transport this artillery. " Heraclius commented about the transportation problem of carrying the artillery.
"Based on Ambassador Luigi and Lucien's information, United Terran will export their military transport vehicle. They called the transport vehicle a military truck. They needed concrete roads to operate these military trucks, so United Terran constructed a public road for our empire. Then, these military trucks need black water, or what United Terran called 'oil' as fuel. They also said they found the black water or oil well in our Empire, and Emperor Aurelius permitted them to explore and extract oil from our Empire to fuel our modern weapons." Maximus responds to Heraclius' question about transportation issues.
"So, our empire become the vassal of United Terran, right?" Heraclius asked Maximus.
"No, their government did not want our Empire to become their vassal. They only want to trade with us and make us their ally in this world. I hope United Terran could support us with modern weapons to suppress the potential threat from supporting slave faction." Maximus responds.
"Yes, I hope we can suppress that bastard slave faction. I fully support Emperor Aurelius in declaring the abolishment of slave law in the new year. May Gods bless Fortisregnum Empire and United Terran." Heraclius prayed for the glory of the Fortisregnum Empire and the United Terran.
Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 30 November 2140, 09:00 am
Nearly one month for Maximus and his legions to learn training about modern weapons from the United Terran. Today, with the marine branch of UT International Special Force (UT ISF), Colonel Ermey trains Maximus and his legions to learn how to drive military vehicles such as military trucks and jeeps.
Under the watchful eye of Colonel Ermey, Maximus, and his legions, they were gathered alongside the UT International Special Forces (UT ISF) for their training on operating military vehicles. Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle, seasoned veterans of the UT ISF, stepped forward to demonstrate the proper techniques for driving and towing with the IVECO M320 military truck.
"All right, Legionnaires, pay close attention," Colonel Ermey barked, his voice carrying across the training grounds. "Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle will show you how to handle these vehicles with precision and skill."
Lieutenant Joker approached the IVECO M320 military truck, his demeanor confident and authoritative as he prepared to demonstrate its capabilities. "First things first," he began, addressing the eager audience. "Always conduct a thorough pre-operation check to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition."
With practiced efficiency, Lieutenant Joker walked through the pre-operation checklist, inspecting the vehicle's tires, brakes, engine, and other vital components. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Pyle demonstrated how to properly attach and secure the artillery to the truck's towing hitch.
"Once you have completed the pre-operation check and secured your cargo, it is time to start the engine," Lieutenant Joker continued, climbing into the driver's seat of the military truck. "Remember to adjust your mirrors and fasten your seatbelt before setting off."
With a steady hand, Lieutenant Joker started the engine, the powerful rumble echoing through the training grounds as the vehicle roared to life. With Lieutenant Pyle guiding him, he carefully maneuvered the truck into position, ready to tow the artillery.
"Now, pay close attention to Lieutenant Pyle as he guides me through the towing process," Lieutenant Joker instructed, his focus unwavering as he awaited his comrade's signal.
Lieutenant Pyle, positioned near the artillery piece, signaled to Lieutenant Joker to proceed. With expert precision, Lieutenant Joker slowly backed the truck toward the artillery, aligning the towing hitch with the designated connection point.
"Easy does it," Lieutenant Pyle called out, providing guidance to ensure a perfect alignment. "Steady... steady... You are almost there."
With a satisfying click, the towing hitch locked into place, securing the artillery to the truck. Lieutenant Joker then engaged the parking brake and turned off the engine, signaling the successful completion of the towing operation.
Colonel Ermey nodded approvingly as he observed the demonstration. "Well done, gentlemen. That is how it is done," he praised, addressing Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle. "Now, it is time for Maximus and his legions to put what they have learned into practice. Let us see what you are made of, Legionnaires!"
With newfound confidence and knowledge, Maximus and his legions eagerly stepped forward, ready to tackle the challenge of operating military vehicles under the guidance of their instructors. As they embarked on this new training phase, they knew that mastering these skills would be essential for their success on the battlefield.
Maximus and his legions eagerly approached the IVECO M320 military truck, their determination evident as they prepared to put their training into practice. Lieutenant Joker, Lieutenant Pyle, and their fellow UT ISF instructors stood ready to provide guidance and assistance as needed.
"All right, Legionnaires, let us see what you have learned," Colonel Ermey called out, his voice commanding attention. "Remember your training, and follow the instructions of Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle. They will guide you through the process."
Maximus and his comrades nodded in acknowledgment, their focus sharpening as they prepared to demonstrate their newly acquired skills. With Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle's assistance, they began the process of attaching the artillery piece to the military truck's towing hitch.
"Take it slow and steady," Lieutenant Joker advised, encouraging the legionnaires as they worked together to align the truck and the artillery.
Maximus took the lead, his hands steady on the wheel as he maneuvered the military truck into position. With Lieutenant Pyle's guidance, he carefully aligned the towing hitch with the designated connection point on the artillery piece.
"Good job, Maximus," Lieutenant Pyle commended, nodding in approval as the hitch clicked into place. "Now, engage the parking brake and shut off the engine."
Maximus followed the instructions diligently, ensuring the artillery was securely attached to the truck before disengaging the engine. With the towing operation completed, he and his fellow legionnaires exchanged satisfied nods, proud of their accomplishment.
"Now it is time to put your driving skills to the test," Lieutenant Joker announced, gesturing toward the driver's seat of the military truck. "Maximus, why don't you take the wheel? Remember, steady hands and keen observation are key."
Maximus nodded determinedly as he climbed into the driver's seat. With Lieutenant Joker guiding the passenger side, he started the engine and prepared to navigate the truck through the training course.
"Ease onto the accelerator, Maximus," Lieutenant Joker instructed, his voice calm and reassuring. "Maintain a steady speed and keep your eyes on the road ahead."
Lieutenant Pyle and the other UT ISF instructors supervised from the sidelines. Maximus carefully maneuvered the military truck through the course, observing traffic signs and obstacles along the way.
A sense of accomplishment filled the air as Maximus and his legions completed their training exercise. Under the guidance of Lieutenant Joker, Lieutenant Pyle, and the UT ISF instructors, they have successfully demonstrated their ability to operate military vehicles with precision and skill.
With each passing day of training, Maximus and his legions grew more confident in their abilities, knowing they were one step closer to becoming a formidable force on the battlefield. As they returned to their barracks, they carried with them the knowledge that they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
"Legatus Maximus, we could tow the artillery with these military trucks and mobilize our force more efficiently. Also, we could use this truck to transport our logistics for our troops on the front line. With these trucks, we could abandon our horse carriage for logistics transport." Heraclius comments about the use of military trucks for logistics and troop transport.
"You are right, Heraclius. We could efficiently transport our troops and logistics around our Empire with these military trucks. However, we cannot use this offensive purpose because the nation's target had no concrete road to support these trucks. We only used this for defensive purposes to defend our Empire." Maximus responds.
Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 4 December 2140, 09:00 am
After training and learning how to operate military trucks, Maximus and his legions also learned how to operate military jeeps as the recon vehicle.
After mastering the operation of military trucks, Maximus and his legions have eagerly turned their attention to learning how to operate military jeeps as reconnaissance vehicles. Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle, along with the UT ISF instructors, led the training sessions, guiding the legionnaires through the intricacies of driving and conducting reconnaissance missions with agile and versatile vehicles.
"All right, Legionnaires, today we are going to focus on operating these military jeeps as reconnaissance vehicles," Colonel Ermey announced, his voice projecting across the training grounds. "Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle will show you the ropes. Pay close attention and follow their instructions."
Maximus and his comrades gathered around the military jeeps, their excitement palpable as they prepared to embark on this new training phase. Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle demonstrated the jeeps' various features, highlighting their off-road capabilities, communication systems, and surveillance equipment.
"First, we will start with the basics of driving the jeep," Lieutenant Joker explained, taking the driver's seat of one of the vehicles. "Maximus, why don't you join me up front?"
Maximus nodded eagerly, climbing into the passenger seat beside Lieutenant Joker as the other legionnaires observed from nearby. With Lieutenant Joker at the wheel, they set off, quickly navigating the rugged terrain of the training grounds.
"Remember to maintain situational awareness at all times," Lieutenant Joker advised, pointing out key landmarks and potential hazards along the way. "Communication is key, especially during reconnaissance missions. You will need to relay vital information back to your unit."
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
As they continued their drive, Lieutenant Pyle and the other UT ISF instructors provided guidance and feedback to the legionnaires, ensuring they were comfortable behind the wheel and familiar with the vehicle's controls.
"Now, let us move on to conducting reconnaissance missions," Lieutenant Pyle instructed, gesturing toward a mock-up of a target area. "Maximus, you and your team will take the lead on this one. Remember to use the jeep's surveillance equipment to gather intel and report back to base."
Maximus and his team approached the target area, and their senses were alert as they scanned the surroundings for any signs of enemy activity. With the jeep's surveillance equipment at their disposal, they carefully observed and documented their findings, relaying crucial information back to the base in real time.
As the training session concluded, Colonel Ermey nodded in satisfaction, impressed by the legionnaires' progress. "Well done, Legionnaires. You have shown great skill and adaptability today," he praised, addressing Maximus and his comrades. "With your newfound abilities, you will be invaluable assets to our forces in the field."
With each passing day of training, Maximus and his legions grew more confident in their abilities as reconnaissance operators, knowing that they were ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. As they returned to their barracks, they looked forward to putting their skills to the test on the battlefield, confident in their ability to carry out their duties precisely and effectively.

"Legatus Maximus, we could do recon missions more efficiently with these military jeeps. The recon force will go in and out of enemy territory more easily and inform our force or artillery battalion to bombard enemy positions." Heraclius argues about the military jeeps utilized for recon missions.
"You are right, Heraclius. We could do recon missions more efficiently with these military jeeps, making recon with horses obsolete. However, unlike horses, we will need fuel to operate these vehicles, which only need food and water for drinks. We will adapt new tactics based on logistics and the battlefield's location." Maximus responds.
Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 9 December 2140, 09:00 am
After finishing training and learning about military transport vehicles (trucks and jeeps), Maximus and his legions learn and train about the main battle tank, Panther II Main Battle Tank (MBT). Panther II MBT is an MBT with the specification of an upgraded Leopard 2A7 in the form of Panther II from Word War II. Panter II for Fortisregnum Empire boasts a 130 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore L51 gun as the primary weapon and two modernized MG42s as a secondary weapon mounted at the coaxial and top of the turret with remote control. Capable of loading Armor Piercing Fin Stabilize Discarding Sabot with Tracer (APFSDS-T), High Explosive Incendiary (HEI) rounds, and depleted Uranium rounds, Panther II could knock out all modern MBTs of the early 21st century.
Colonel Ermey stood before Maximus and his legions, a map of the Panther II Main Battle Tank (MBT) spread out before him. With a commanding presence, he described the tank's formidable capabilities.
"Listen up, Legionnaires," Colonel Ermey began, his voice carrying across the training grounds. "The Panther II MBT is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Equipped with a 130 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore L51 (Rh-130 L/51) gun as its primary weapon and two MG42 mounted coaxially and top of the turret as its secondary weapon, this tank packs a serious punch."
He gestured toward the illustration of the Panther II, highlighting its sleek design and advanced features. "With its modernized Leopard 2A7 specification, the Panther II can load APFSDS-T, HEI, and depleted uranium rounds, making it a formidable adversary against any armored threat."
Maximus and his legions listened intently, their eyes focused on Colonel Ermey as he continued to outline the tank's specifications. They understood the importance of mastering the operation of such a powerful weapon on the battlefield.
"Now, it is time to see the Panther II in action," Colonel Ermey announced, motioning toward the arrival of Colonel Rommel and his team from the 7th Panzer Division, a branch of the UT Special Armored Forces (UT SAF).
Colonel Friedrich Rommel, a seasoned veteran with years of experience operating armored vehicles, stepped forward to lead the demonstration. "Greetings, Legionnaires," he greeted with a salute. "Today, my team and I will show you how to operate the Panther II MBT with precision and skill."
"Oh my gods, that tank resembles Weltenkraft Reich's Panzer. So our Empire will operate a tank similar to the Panzer, right?" Heraclius was surprised that Panther II MBT was similar to the Panzer.
"Weltenkraft Reich? What is that nation?" Colonel Rommel asked Heraclius. However, because the name is German and has the word Reich, Colonel Rommel has a bad feeling.
"Yes, sir. Weltenkraft Reich is the superpower nation in the West that claims to become a hyperpower, and its race is the world's most powerful race. It has an armored vehicle called a Panzer. Panther II is similar to one of its Panzer. It also claims its science and technology are number one in the world." Maximus explains to Colonel Rommel.
After hearing Maximus' explanation, Colonel Rommel was shocked. This world has a nation similar to the Third Reich or Nazi Germany. He and his German members trembled after remembering their dark history, especially Friedrich because he was a descendant of the famous German general Erwin Rommel, who committed suicide because of the political conditions of World War II.
"Are you sure about that, Maximus? So, this nation also has an evil nation that claims their science and technology are number one in the world? Man, I do not know if we must fight this nation. My country, Germany, is similar to them, but I do not want to associate with a nation resembling Nazi." Colonel Rommel said that he and all of his country did not want to associate with a nation resembling Nazi Germany. Because there is a nation similar to the Third Reich, Colonel Rommel is spirited to train Maximus and his legion to prepare to fight against Weltenkraft Reich.
Maximus and his comrades gathered as Colonel Rommel and his team began demonstrating the Panther II's operation. They demonstrated how to start the engine, maneuver the tank across various terrains, and engage targets with both the primary and coaxial machine guns.
"Remember, precision and teamwork are key when operating a tank," Colonel Rommel emphasized, his voice echoing inside the tank as he communicated with his crew. "Each crew member plays a vital role in ensuring the tank's effectiveness on the battlefield."
As the demonstration concluded, Colonel Ermey addressed Maximus and his legions again. "You have seen firsthand the power of the Panther II MBT," he declared, his voice filled with pride. "Now, it is time for you to put your training into practice. Master the operation of this tank, and you will be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield."
Under the watchful eye of Colonel Rommel and his team, Maximus and his legions have embarked on their training to operate the Panther II MBT. With meticulous attention to detail, Colonel Rommel guided them through the intricacies of Panther II's operation, drawing from the updated manual operation protocols based on the Leopard 2A7 manual operation utilized by the Bundeswehr more than 100 years ago.
"Legionnaires, welcome to the Panther II MBT," Colonel Rommel began, his voice steady and authoritative as he addressed the eager recruits. "Today, you will learn how to operate this powerful weapon system with precision and skill."
He led Maximus and his comrades through the various components of the Panther II's interior, explaining each control panel, lever, and button in detail. From the driver's seat to the gunner and commander stations, they familiarized themselves with the layout of the tank's interior and the roles of each crew member.
"First, let us start with the basics of starting the engine and engaging the tank's propulsion system," Colonel Rommel instructed, gesturing toward the driver's seat. "Heraclius, why don't you take the driver's position? Pay close attention to the startup sequence."
Heraclius nodded eagerly, taking his place behind the controls as Colonel Rommel provided guidance. He followed the startup procedure with steady hands, activating the engine and initializing the tank's propulsion systems under Colonel Rommel's watchful supervision.
"Good job, Heraclius," Colonel Rommel commended, nodding in approval. "Now, let us move on to maneuvering the tank. Remember, precisely controlling the tank's movement is essential for navigating varied terrain and engaging targets effectively."
With Lieutenant Joker and Lieutenant Pyle observing from the gunner and commander positions, Maximus and his fellow legionnaires practiced maneuvering the Panther II across the training grounds. Under Colonel Rommel's expert guidance, they learned how to adjust the tank's speed, steer through obstacles, and navigate challenging terrain.
"Next, we will focus on engaging targets with the tank's main gun and secondary weapons," Colonel Rommel announced, guiding Maximus and his team through the process of loading and aiming the 130 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore L51 (Rh-130 L/51) gun and the coaxial a modernized MG42 machine gun.
"This cannon can load APFSDS-T and depleted uranium if the target is enemy MBTs, thickly armored land dragons, and thickly armored vehicles. We can load HEI rounds if the enemy is infantry or a lighter armored vehicle. Tracer is used to improve the accuracy, aiding in aim, identification of enemy and friendly and observation and spotting." Colonel Rommel explains.
"Now, load APFSDS-T to shoot the target vehicle. That target vehicle was an antique M14 Armata from Russia over 100 years ago. Now, all of you will shoot from different ranges: 750 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, and 2000 m. Armata will be static and moving to improve your ability to shoot moving targets. Remember that targets also have composite armor, just like Panther II, so it will be difficult to penetrate them if you shoot at their thick composite armor. Fortunately, your Panther II has an intelligent AI optical detector based on the database that calculates enemy effective thickness. However, this optical detector will be useless if used against a tank from this world that is not input to the database. So, we need the database of this world tank to improve our database." Colonel Rommel comprehensively describes the shooting target and AI optical detector.
Maximus and his legions practiced targeting simulated enemy vehicles and infantry with precision and coordination, honing their skills under Colonel Rommel's watchful eye. They learned how to adjust the tank's turret, aim the main gun, and fire accurately at designated targets efficiently and confidently.
As days into the week passed, the training session concluded. Colonel Rommel proudly addressed Maximus and his legions. "You have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication today," he declared, his voice filled with admiration. With continued practice and determination, you will become formidable operators of the Panther II MBT, ready to face any challenge on the battlefield."
"I hope all of you diligently train with this beast, and I do not know when our government will export it to your Empire. However, you must be ready to face unknown challenges, especially from evil nations like Weltenkraft Reich," Colonel Rommel comments to Maximus and his legions.
Thanks to memory magic that enhanced understanding for learning and training purposes, Maximus and his legions could better understand how to operate Panther II faster than regular soldiers. With newfound confidence and expertise, Maximus and his legions left the training grounds, eager to continue honing their skills and mastering the operation of the Panther II under the guidance of Colonel Rommel and the UT SAF.

"They are genius and could learn and train to control Panther II in only three weeks. I know they use magic to enhance their understanding of new knowledge, but their progress is terrifyingly fast. I hope our government only sends early 21st-century technology because if they know and learn our cutting-edge weapons, they will become a threat to us." Colonel Rommel argues about the fast progress of Maximus and his legions.
"Yeah, I also feel that. However, rest assured, my friend. Even though they know how to operate these modern weapons, they cannot assemble and produce them in their nation. Even if we guide them to produce these weapons locally, they still can not become a threat to us. Furthermore, Maximus and his legions are loyal and good people. Based on our advanced psychological test, they have excellent integrity and loyalty. Also, their emperor was wise, and they became our valuable ally in this new world." Colonel Ermey responds.
"Yeah, they are our valuable allies and assets in this new world. Also, we have a potential threat from an evil nation resembling the Third Reich and a communist nation resembling the Soviet Union. I hope we were not dragged into another world war or cold war and could keep everlasting peace." Colonel Rommel hoped that United Terran could keep the peace of this new world.
"May God bless us with everlasting peace. May peace be upon us." Colonel Ermey prayed for peace in the world.
Secret Special Training Facilities, United Terran, 30 December 2140, 09:00 am
Colonel Rommel and his team moved on to the next training phase, this time focusing on the Panzerhaubitze (PzH) 2000 Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) operation. Positioned beside the formidable artillery piece, Colonel Rommel addressed Maximus and his legions again.
"Legionnaires, today we will familiarize ourselves with the operation of the PzH 2000 Self-Propelled Howitzer," he began, gesturing toward the massive vehicle-mounted artillery system. "This artillery piece is a vital asset on the battlefield, providing long-range fire support and devastating firepower against enemy positions."
Maximus and his comrades gathered around the PzH 2000, focusing on Colonel Rommel as he explained the howitzer's capabilities and functions. They observed as he demonstrated the various controls, levers, and systems comprising the artillery platform, emphasizing the importance of precision and coordination in artillery operations.
"Now, let us proceed with loading and aiming the PzH 2000," Colonel Rommel continued, guiding Maximus and his team through the process step by step. " Maximus, I want you to observe closely as Captain Hans takes the lead in operating the howitzer. Pay attention to every detail."
Captain Hans stepped forward, eager to learn and demonstrate his proficiency with the PzH 2000 under Colonel Rommel's guidance. He followed the instructions with steady hands and focused determination, loading ammunition into the howitzer's breech and adjusting the elevation and azimuth for targeting.
"Remember, PzH 2000 used an auto-loader system to reload after firing the ammunition. For now, I want all of you to load manually if the auto-loader malfunctions during battle. Now look how the auto-loader system works in PzH 2000." Colonel Rommel explains the auto-loader system of PzH 2000.
After Captain Hans and his teams manually shoot and reload the PzH 2000, they show how to operate the auto-loader system of the PzH 2000. The autoloader system of the PzH 2000 is designed to handle the loading process automatically, reducing the need for crew manual intervention. When a firing command is given, the autoloader swings into action. Based on the type of ammunition required for the firing mission, the autoloader selects the appropriate shell from the onboard storage magazine. This selection is typically made by the gunner or the fire control system, which communicates with the autoloader.
Once the appropriate shell is selected, the autoloader moves it to the loading position, aligning it with the breech of the howitzer. The autoloader then uses a rammer mechanism to push the shell into the gun's breech. This process ensures proper shell seating and prepares the weapon for firing. In addition to the shell, the autoloader also handles the loading of propellant charges required for firing. These charges are typically loaded into the breech either simultaneously with the shell or in a separate step, depending on the specific design of the autoloader.
The gun is ready to fire once both the shell and propellant charges are properly loaded into the breech. The crew can initiate this manually or automatically through the fire control system. After firing, the autoloader automatically ejects the spent casing from the breech, clearing the chamber for the next round. The autoloader continues this process, loading and firing shells as required until the mission is complete or until the ammunition supply is depleted.
"Excellent work, Captain Hans," Colonel Rommel praised, nodding in approval. "Now, let us simulate engaging enemy positions at various ranges. Remember to adjust for factors such as wind speed, elevation, and target distance to ensure accuracy."

As they looked to the skies, they knew that the future of the Empire lay in their hands, and they were prepared to soar to new heights in its defense.
Maximus and his legion progressed in their training, so they transitioned to solo flights in the single-seat standard Me 262M aircraft. Under the guidance of Colonel Hartmann and his squadron, they honed their skills in maneuvering and operating advanced fighter jets with increasing confidence and proficiency.
"Today, Legionnaires, you will take to the skies in the single-seat Me 262M," Colonel Hartmann announced, his voice echoing through the briefing room. "Remember everything you have learned and apply it to your solo flights. Fly with precision and focus."
Maximus and Heraclius, now recognized as the top pilots among their comrades, approached their assigned aircraft with determination. As they strapped into the cockpit and prepared for takeoff, their minds focused on the task ahead.
"Maximus, Heraclius, you have shown exceptional skill in your training," Colonel Hartmann remarked, approaching their aircraft. "Today, you will participate in a mock test to simulate aerial combat scenarios. Your objective is to shoot down enemy targets using mock rounds. Remember, tactics and situational awareness are key."
With a nod of understanding, Maximus and Heraclius taxied their Me 262Ms to the runway, their hearts racing with anticipation. As they ascended into the sky, they scanned the horizon for their simulated adversaries, ready to put their training to the test.
As Maximus and Heraclius soared through the skies in their Me 262Ms, their keen eyes scanned the horizon for any sign of their opponents from the AI pilot squadron. United Terran inputs an AI pilot for emergency if the pilot is not ready or wounded when piloting Me 262M. Because AI pilots will be used in emergencies, AI skills were programmed based on regular United Terran pilots in the 21st century for 6th-generation fighters. The tension was palpable as they awaited the first sight of their adversaries, knowing that this mock battle would test their skills to the limit.
"Maximus, Heraclius, keep your eyes peeled," Colonel Hartmann's voice crackled over the radio, his guidance steady in their ears. "The AI pilots are formidable opponents. Stay focused and trust your training."
Maximus nodded in acknowledgment, his grip tightening on the controls as he maintained his vigilance. Suddenly, a blip appeared on his radar screen, signaling the presence of enemy aircraft.
"Enemy fighters spotted at three o'clock," Maximus announced, his voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins. "Moving to intercept."
With a surge of adrenaline, Maximus and Heraclius banked their aircraft, maneuvering into position to engage the enemy. Equally skilled and determined, the AI resembled United Terran pilots and proved to be elusive adversaries, executing evasive maneuvers to evade their attacks.
"Keep them in your sights, Heraclius," Maximus urged, his eyes locked on the rapidly moving targets. "We cannot let them slip away."
Heraclius nodded in agreement, his focus unwavering as he adjusted his course to maintain pursuit. With precision and coordination, they closed in on their targets, unleashing a barrage of mock rounds in an attempt to score hits.
"Direct hit on one bogey," Heraclius exclaimed, his voice tinged with excitement as he witnessed his adversary's simulated defeat.
Maximus followed suit, his shots finding their mark as another enemy aircraft was forced to retreat. The mock battle raged on, with both sides trading simulated fire in a thrilling display of aerial combat prowess.
"Enemy aircraft spotted at twelve o'clock," Heraclius reported over the radio, his voice calm and composed. "Engaging target."
With lightning-fast reflexes, Maximus and Heraclius maneuvered their aircraft into position, precisely locking onto their targets. With a pull of the trigger, they unleashed a barrage of mock rounds, simulating the deadly firepower of their aircraft's weapons systems.
"Direct hit!" Maximus exclaimed, his voice filled with triumph as the Me262M piloted by AI adversary flew toward the ground because it simulated was shot down by Maximus.
"Another one down," Heraclius added, his tone confident as he scored another successful hit.
As the dust settled and the simulated smoke cleared, Maximus and Heraclius emerged victorious, their skill and determination evident in their successful engagements. The AI pilots, while formidable opponents, were ultimately no match for the combined might of Maximus and Heraclius because they could remember the training from Colonel Hartmann
"Outstanding performance, Maximus, Heraclius," Colonel Hartmann praised, his voice filled with pride as they returned to base. "You have proven yourselves to be the best of the best. Your mastery of the Me 262M and your strategic prowess in combat is a credit to the Empire."
As the mock test continued, Maximus and Heraclius demonstrated their superior piloting skills, outmaneuvering their opponents and scoring multiple hits with deadly accuracy. Their comrades watched in awe as they dominated the aerial battlefield, proving themselves to be the best pilots in the training exercise.
"Excellent work, Maximus, Heraclius," Colonel Hartmann praised, his voice crackling over the radio. "You have shown remarkable skill and determination. Today's performance will inspire your fellow legionnaires and set a high standard for future pilots of Fortisregnum Empire."
With their victory secured, Maximus and Heraclius returned to base, their heads held high with pride. As they debriefed with Colonel Hartmann and their fellow pilots, they knew that they had proven themselves as the elite aviators of the Empire, ready to defend their homeland from any threat that dared to challenge it.
"Oh my God, Maximus is the real genius. He could proficiently command MBT, SPG, SPAAG and now become the best pilot from his legion." Lieutenant Pyle was shocked by Maximus' performance during the training.
"Yes, based on the intelligence test, Maximus's IQ is 155. Based on what I know, only Secretary-General Hugo van Dijk, Professor Oliver Einstein, General Alexander Eisenhower, and the leaderboard of the United Terran government surpass him. However, his higher IQ is because he could apply his enhanced memory magic. Maybe if Secretary General Hugo, Professor Oliver, and General Alexander could use this magic, they would become the most intelligent people in the world, especially those in the Department of Science and Technology." Colonel Ermey argues about Maximus's intelligence and the leaderboard of United Terran.
Finally, after five months of training, Maximus and his legion finished their modernized weapons. However, because more advanced weapons will be developed in the future, Maximus and his legions will train for the next weapon. These weapons will be used against the enemy of the Fortisregnum Empire.
