She was born to the world welcomed by the laughing of predators and a six-foot fall to the ground. It was a rough landing, with her breaking her fall with her torso. Being a newborn, she couldn’t stand or walk just yet. Everything was blurry, and attempting to stand was not working out so well for her. Properly utilizing her limbs was almost an impossible task as she repeatedly fell over and over, trying to stand.
She could hear the sounds of whooping and giggling nearby but had no clue what that noise was. Instead of focusing on something that she couldn’t control and had no knowledge of, she focused on getting to her feet. Even if she had to eat dirt a couple more times, it took a while before she could finally stand, but it happened eventually!
As she cautiously walked and got a feel for walking, she was suddenly attacked! That laughing thing was the only thing that she heard before being tackled back to the ground with something tearing at her neck. She cried out in horrible pain as terror and fear seized her body. An innate feeling welled up inside of her. Something that attached itself to her as soon as she hit the ground. Perhaps it never would have been revealed if she wasn’t in a life-or-death situation right now.
However, fate had a strange way of getting things going in the way it wanted. The young female giraffe calf valiantly struggled against her predator. As the hyena landed its incredibly powerful bite on the calf’s neck, it strangely realized that it couldn’t bite down with that much force. Like any animal would when trying to injure prey, it simply tried again with the same strategy.
This time, the result was even worse than its first attempt. It felt like it was trying to eat a muscly rock! Its teeth could barely dig into the juicy meat right in front of it, and the hyena couldn’t understand one bit. It continued to bite and tear to rip any piece of flesh off from the calf.
Soon enough, the hyena was tossed away as the calf swung its neck. Since the hyena couldn’t find a grip with its teeth, it was easily sent flying away. The hyena rolled across the ground as the baby giraffe came running its way. Seeing its prey acting in such a manner intimidated the predator. It tried fleeing to gain some distance, but it was unable to get to its feet in time just as the calf swung its neck downward onto its body.

The hyena cried out in pain from the unusual amount of pain after being hit. It whimpered and gave a whoop to ask for help. However, its allies were busy running away from the mother giraffe, who was hellbent on stomping them to death. This meant that no help was coming soon.
She repeatedly bashed her neck on the thing that hurt it, completely aware of the changes happening within her body. It was a skill called Absolute Muscle Control. The young female calf could control all of the muscles in her body. Allowing her to perform feats that were impossible for any other calf. Such as beating a hyena to death with just her neck!
Amara didn’t stop pummeling the hyena until it stopped moving. Then she found herself being licked and cleaned by a familiar smell. Amara’s mother cleaned up all of the dirty stuff staining her body before standing over her. There was an instinctive reaction as Amara saw her those things on her mother’s body. She walked over and began to suckle.
A soothing and satisfying liquid began to go down her throat. Being the first thing she’s ever drunk or eaten, Amara didn’t stop until she was forced off of her mother’s udder. She then led her away. Amara stayed close to her mother despite her curiosity about everything around her. With Muscle Control, Amara was actively testing out several things while walking with her mother.
She was learning about all of the muscles in her body and what would happen if she strengthened them like she did her neck earlier. While testing out her innate ability, Amara found out that if she strengthened the muscles in her eyes, she could see so much better! The world around her was no longer blurry! She looked up to see her mother and was awed at the size of her. Her mom was so big!
Amara ran around her mother and occasionally would sometimes run ahead and wait for her while looking back. Her mother would simply continue at the same pace she was and often turn her head around to look at their surroundings. Amara didn’t understand what was so interesting, but she looked around, too, emulating her mother. Every time her mom looked around, Amara would look around too.
Then Amara and her mother finally reached their tower. Their herd and family. Amara was in shock as she looked at all of the other giraffes and excitedly ran over to them. They looked just like her mom, and some of them were even as small as her! She couldn’t wait to meet them.
