The Ultimate Lackey

I, Reiji Goto, was a young man that would do almost anything for the sake of my own goals. Previously this goal was to live a mostly uneventful life while being moderately or highly successful in whatever career I decided on. Then something that not even I, the top scorer of my school, could predict had happened... An impossibility as far as Goto knew. Hopefully, the sole impossibility in the universe. Apparently, the universe really did work in mysterious ways.

A divine being chose me to fulfil its goal or provide entertainment for itself by gifting me the Ultimate Lackey System. To ensure myself that I wasn’t losing my mind, I decided to test one of the system’s functions and learn a skill. There was a free available martial arts class that was right after school and close by. I went to the class and right after the class was done, I got my first skill!

[Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Lv1]

There was no sudden influx of information or anything magical like that. I just simply knew with my body all of the fundamentals of Brazilian Jit-Jutsu. Those fundamentals being exactly what I went over in class that day, not anything I didn’t know about. If I was suddenly given a pop quiz on everything I learned, I was confidently in pulling it off with perfection.

When I gained my first skill, I was given a mission from the system. I was more interested in gaining useful skills but there was no reason why I couldn’t do both. Efficiency made the world go round. My first mission was to become a lackey of someone.

It made sense after all. The Ultimate Lackey System and all that. After returning home from the gym, I studied like I usually did. When I was finished going through my homework and studying ahead. This allowed me to gain the skill Study at level one. I expected to gain some knowledge this time after gaining the skill but just like before it didn’t force knowledge, I didn’t have inside my head but simple reorder it in a more efficient state. Now I believed that I could study more effectively with the skill.

Whether or not I'll be able to retain the knowledge or use it better is unknown. After some testing or leveling it up, I'll be able to find out soon enough. I studied till the late hours of 12am for a full eight hours of sleep. In that time, I did manage to level up my Study skill by simply trying to cram as much knowledge from my textbooks into my head. It was with Study being at level 2 that I understood that it did both.

By looking at problems, I could tell instinctively which formula went with which problem and how to come to an answer even if they had little tricks that weren’t taught in the book. By using the information given in the textbook Study aided me in solving it for myself. This didn’t work if the problem included formulas or information not given beforehand that I didn’t know of. So, if I didn’t know it. There was no trick or cheat I could use to forcefully solve an answer. My best bet to avoid situations where I don’t know the answer is to study as much as I could.

I went to sleep that night with an erection as I thought of just how far I could go in life with this system. Who gave a damn about pride, self-respect, and morals when absolute power was at one’s fingertips?! With this system, I could advance humanity! I could bring myself to the pinnacle of humanity! Absolute freedom in the form of absolute potential!

“Hey, did you do last night’s homework?” Takeshi Goda shoved his friend’s shoulder.

“Yep. I got my nerd to do it.” Ishida Shouya loudly chewed his gum.

“Let me see it.” Goda held his hand out.

“Get your own fucking nerd.” Shouya smacked his hand.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“Don’t be a bitch. Just let me see it for a little bit. Hurry up before the teacher comes.” Goda clamped Shouya’s shoulder.

“Haha, fuck off bitch. This is what you get for cockblocking me at the karaoke party. If you keep bothering me, I'm telling the teacher you ain’t do your homework when she comes.” Shouya shrugged off Goda’s palm.

“Fuck you man. I called dibs on that chick in the first place. Now I gotta find a fucking...” Goda grumbled as he took a quick glance around the room.

I buried myself in my textbook. As I felt a hand roughly grasp my shoulder, I could barely keep myself from smiling. The pain of having my collarbone squeezed was enough that I gained Grit for a new skill that helped me toughen through the pain. By forcing myself to shiver in fear, I hoped to play the part of the perfect gopher. What bully wouldn’t want the perfect victim to take advantage of? A weak-willed, weak-bodied, and subservient little bitch.

“Aren’t you the loser with the highest grades in class? Lift your head up for me.” Goda ordered.

Hesitantly, I rose my head up from my textbook. Goda grinned as he looked at my nervous frighted face. “Yep, I'd remember those dorky swirly glasses anywhere. Alright, here’s the deal. From now on you are my slave. You do whatever I say, whenever I say and I won’t beat the shit out of you. Does this sound good?” He smiled at me with a smile that dared me to say anything but yes.

“Y-” I didn’t even get the chance to respond before he slammed my head into the desk.

Blood flowed from my nose as I pathetically cried out in pain and shock. When I rose my head to pitifully look at the other students, I met turned away faces or mocking looks. “What are you looking at them for? They aren’t going to help you. Now finish my homework before the teacher arrives or I'm kicking your ass later.” Goda threw his worksheet on my desk.

I miserably sobbed quietly as I began scribbling while inwardly cursing this idiot. If it wasn’t for the teacher walking in while happily humming, I would’ve brought it up to the idiot that our handwriting was completely different. I wasn’t averse to giving the idiot answers. He just had to write in my answers for himself if he wanted this to work.

The teacher ignored me, my bloodied nose, my forcefully squeezed out tears, and asked for the class president to collect the homework. I fearfully looked over at Goda only to see him smiling at me. It didn’t take a genius to realize that his smile promised pain in my near future. Well, it’s going to hurt but it’s going to level my new skill at least. Once it gets high enough, I can simply act like I'm in pain every time I need to get beaten.

When the time for lunch came, I was walking side-by-side with Goda with his arm around my neck. Practically dragging me along with his friends to the storeroom for gym equipment. They took out cigarettes while standing behind the storeroom. “T-Takeshi. Even if I wrote at the s-speed of light, I couldn’t have finished your h-homework... Additionally, our h-handwriting don’t look s-similar.” I stuttered.

“I gave you one command slave and you fucked it up.” Goda cracked his knuckles as he neared me chuckling.

Takeshi’s boys cackled as they prepared to watch a good show. I continued my pathetic begging and pleading to try and reason with him, only for him to punch me in the gut and send me to my knees. Grit leveled up as Goda stomped and kicked me while laughing as I curled up into a ball. I had to admit, his stamina was impressive. He kept up his violent display of power and dominance for all of lunch period allowing me to level up Grit to level three. By the end of the power posturing, I was aching as much as I was after leaving the gym. Not feeling anything like I was beaten nearly to death.

“If anyone asks you what happened, just tell ‘em you fell down the stairs. I don’t need to tell you what will happen if some teachers start asking me questions, right?” Goda laughed as I only whimpered in response. “Good. I put my number in your phone. Whenever I need something I'll send a text. I’ll beat you the next time I see you if you don’t respond fast enough. Alright, see ya slave.” They left me laying in the dirt as the bell for class rang.

I played up my injuries from ‘falling’. I was laid up in the infirmary for the rest of the day and limped my way out to my locker. Before I left, I asked the class president if we had any homework. She handed me the papers and told me the pages and I left school to head to the gym. I shook off the ache in my body with a smile when I was far away from school. That afternoon I paid a membership for the martial arts gym to learn more than just foundational Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and began looking for tutoring services online for pocket money. No doubt, Goda was going to rob me of money. To think of it another way, helping people by tutoring with my study skill was going to benefit everyone. It satisfied my boss, it helped raise my study skill, and I got cash out of it. A win-win all around.
