It was Charlotte’s first day in the Dungeons. After a shitty life of barely being able to feed herself by stealing shitty food from shitty sellers, she was fed up with life. Then, she was blessed by a god and given a magical ability. Who that god was, she had no idea. What that god wanted by blessing her, she didn’t give a shit. Charlotte immediately ran to the dungeons to strike it rich and no longer live a shitty life. She wandered the dungeons alone.
Since she was on the first floor, the types of monsters she encountered weren’t anything special. The first monster she met was a mushroom monster. It was the size of an adult, had muscular arms and legs, and a mouth that seemed to only be useful for screaming because it screamed as soon as it made eye contact with her.
Charlotte frowned as the piercing screech gave her a headache. With a single thought, a dark cloud appeared over her head. The cloud soon began to release rain underneath it, soaking Charlotte’s figure. She reached out above her as the rain began to gather in the shape of a strange weapon. Three rods connected by a water chain. A weapon that Charlotte has certainly never seen before as a 10-year-old girl from the slums.
Charlotte grabbed one rod and walked toward the annoying monster intent on shutting it up for good. It only screamed at her approach as it brought its fists up, ready for a battle. She swung the flail-type weapon at the monster without hesitation, smashing it against the monster’s leg. The weapon flung back after striking true, heading straight back toward Charlotte. It dispersed into harmless raindrops before reforming back to its original form.
The mushroom monster fell face-forward from the harsh blow to its leg, giving Charlotte free reign to put the shitty bastard to rest. She swung the unorthodox weapon over and over again. Anytime it swung back at her, she controlled the weapon to go soft as rain before reforming and hitting the monster again. Just as she was about to get into a rhythm with the damn things, the mushroom monster died and dissolved into a single shiny blue gem.
A greedy grin appeared on Charlotte’s face as she saw the mana stone fall from the dungeon monster’s body. Her eyes lit up as she pictured all the gold coins she was going to leave with after leaving this dungeon. She snatched up the glowing stone in an instant and put it in her pocket before carefully looking around her surroundings. No one was around and she let out a breath of relief before suddenly, a strange thought came to her head.
Why the hell would she waste time killing monsters, when she could just rob the people killing monsters?! All she had to do was beat up the explorers instead of risking her life against monsters who didn’t have a problem with killing a human child! Even those times when she got caught stealing by those vendors, they’d just spank her ass or beat her before releasing her. Charlotte couldn’t help giggling to herself as the idea started to sound better the more, she thought about it. What kind of low-life adult could seriously fight against a cute girl like herself without holding anything back? Even if things got dangerous, Charlotte was confident in escaping with her blessing.
But first, she had a lot more practicing to do with her weapon and blessing. She had a feeling on how to use the stick things right and some ideas about her rain. Things she planned to learn about sooner rather than later. Every great criminal act is properly planned beforehand. A crime not thought out only leads to failure and Charlotte couldn’t get lucky forever.
…
Charlotte spent an entire month training and avoiding the eyes of other explorers. If you could call training torturing the weakest monsters in the dungeon, the mushroom monsters. With their short limbs and lack of magical abilities, Charlotte could properly abuse these monsters for everything they were worth. There was no risk and only gains!
“Hahahaha!” Charlotte spun her three-sectioned staff with ease and familiarity before slinging it into the body of a mushroom monster.

The mushroom monster bent in an arc as it was sent flying off its feet to the ground. It couldn’t even scream anymore because of the blow and only weakly wheeze. Charlotte grinned as the connected rods joined together to form a spear. The young child raised the rain spear overhead before rapidly stabbing the downed monster over and over again. It didn’t take long for it to dissolve into a single mana stone.
Charlotte raised her head and noticed the group of mushrooms watching from a distance. Did those shitty bastards think that just because they grouped up, it’ll stop her? Oh, they had another thing coming if they thought that was enough to scare her! The young child’s raincloud grew in size, now no longer raining directly above her but the area around her as well. She walked towards the group of monsters in a calm manner as she reformed her spear into the three-sectioned staff.
Charlotte spun the weapon as she neared the mushrooms. The flail effortlessly followed Charlotte’s control, spinning over her head, behind her back, and all around her figure. There was no telling in what direction she would attack nor what kind of attack was coming. The grouped-up mushrooms began to screech louder as their intimidation tactic seemed to have failed. Seeing that forcing her to go away was impossible, the mushrooms charged at her.
“You shitty motherfuckers!” Charlotte was surprised.
She planned on making the first strike but who knew that when these cowardly monsters were in a group, they actually grew some balls! Charlotte’s built-up strike swung across the face of the most courageous mushroom who neared her first. Pieces of the mushroom’s face and skin were ripped off from the force of the impact, giving Charlotte a brief view of the insides of a Mushman. She didn’t take a long look as she caught the end of the rod, she just used to kill that mushroom before spinning along with it and smashing it into another mushroom. It went down just as easily as the other one but Charlotte wasn’t able to follow up with the third mushman by using her weapon.
The rain droplets forming a puddle underneath her suddenly shifted into spikes that pierced through the third mushman, It shot out a strange white substance that splattered over Charlotte’s body and clothes. “Ah, what the fuck is this?!” She immediately used the rain to wash off the liquid before focusing her attention back on the last mushman.
It fled while she was being splattered on by the third mushman. An irritated look appeared on Charlotte’s face. “If you wanted to fucking run, you should’ve ran before ganging up on me with your friends!” The puddle underneath her feet slid forward.
Charlotte’s speed increased greatly as she skated using the rain water as a speed boost. The fleeing mushman didn’t even realize he was dead until a water spear was poking out from the front of its face. A triumphant look took Charlotte’s face as she gathered up all the mana stones and made her way to the entrance of the dungeon.
It took Charlotte several days to find her way back to the entrance of the dungeon but it wasn’t that difficult once she found the traces of people again. The difficult part was hiding all of the mana stones she gathered over the course of a month. Thankfully, she found two neat tricks that allowed her to survive this month inside the dungeon. By tearing off the head of the mushman, she could use the inside of it as a bag and food! As long as she was careful in not killing it during the removal process, the head wouldn’t disappear like when the mushmen die.
…
“Oh, you’re still alive, kid...?” A vendor who trades with dungeon materials looked down on her.
It was only because of him gratefully taking a blind eye to her, that she was even allowed to sneak into the dungeon in the first place.
“I want a medium storage bag, low-quality food and drinks that’ll last me a month, and everything else can be converted to coins.” She handed him all of her gains from this past month.
“Well, well, well. Let’s see how much ya g---” He finally opened his eyes to see the pile of mana stones inside the mushman’s head. “Right away, young lady!” He didn’t hesitate as his mind raced.
After giving her what she asked discreetly, she walked away with everything placed inside her storage bag. Charlotte made her way to the slums a lot richer. She knew that she couldn’t go crazy buying things just because she wasn’t poor anymore. She’d be robbed faster than she could say, “I’d like a-”
Instead of drawing attention to herself, Charlotte made her way to the run-down shack she was using as a home before she went to the dungeon. Just to be safe, she checked the boarded window and could see a group of children inside. She clicked her tongue before wandering through the slums once more. Looks like she had to acquire a house for herself despite being an orphan. Charlotte had no thoughts that money was powerful, but it wasn’t all-powerful. She’s just going to have to hope that the house seller doesn’t rat on her.
